manamufin I'm saying nothing from now on......... they've stopped again. He must have really enjoyed that chicken dinner. My d/h must think I'm barmy. I've been on all 4's on and off all day, baby is posterior so I'm hoping I don't actually go into labour until he's the right way around.

Another reason it can't happen tonight/tomorrow - I've eaten sooo much today, it wouldn't be a pretty sight afterall, lol - sorry tmi

It's nice having u all to chat to

DebitheScot · 31/08/2008 19:14

I just had a bit of a leak. It def wasn't wee and was more than a trickle but not gallons. Don't know what to do now. I should expect more than that if its water's breaking shouldn't I?

notsoslimnow · 31/08/2008 19:27

ooh i think it can come in just a trickle too.did you have the same last pregnancy?maybe call hospital to check?

DebitheScot · 31/08/2008 19:28

last time they didn't break at all tll the very end of labour then exploded everywhere.

notsoslimnow · 31/08/2008 19:31

well im pretty sure it doesnt always explode ...how exciting!!! i would defo call and check with midwife as i think hind waters tend to go with much less force??? having said that this is my first pregnancy so bit rubbish in terms of knowing whats happening!i would make a call and ask though

DebitheScot · 31/08/2008 19:37

just had same again, about to phone now...

notsoslimnow · 31/08/2008 19:44

oh my word im soooo excited for you!!!! please, please keep us up to date.very best of luck if this is it xxxxxx

DebitheScot · 31/08/2008 19:49

they said- put pad on, keep an eye on any leakage, phone back in an hour or so if it changes colour and I explained about last labour being quick and she said phone and then go up as soon as contractions start being regular, not to wait until they are very close together as its likely to be quick.

notsoslimnow · 31/08/2008 19:51

oh wow, thats super are you feeling any contractions?

mum2bagain · 31/08/2008 19:53

CONGRATULATIONS - I think something is definitely happening for you, you lucky thing. Hopefull this time tomorrow you'll be home with your bundle of joy - I'm very jealous

DebitheScot · 31/08/2008 20:08

no contractions yet.

It'd better hang on till after midnight (I'm sure it will but last labour was only 4 hours) in case we are still living in England in a few years time. The next 4 hours make a difference to what school year it'll be in, how mad is that?!?!

ninja · 31/08/2008 20:11

I love popping in here now and hearing all the news.

The amazing thing is that we've all had different pregnancies, have joined the threads at different times, will have different birth experiences, feeding and sleeping experiences - but in the end we can all learn and share so much from each other.

It's such an exciting time for all of us!

milkbeard · 31/08/2008 20:12

jenpet sam is sooo cute, congratulations x

MIL just text to say they were back from coast so thats something. not going to stress bout it as like foxy said you can't make any firm plans! another friend just rang to say she could come over and look after dd if i needed her, think whenever it happens there should be someone free. alot less stressed about it all. mind just looked at size of bump and had little cry thinking how the bloody hell am i going to be able to push this out

debithescot keep us updated. so exciting x

slinkiemalinki · 31/08/2008 20:22

Hi all
Congratulations potxola! HOping Lorea is feeding well by now.
Otherwise all well here... thinking now I'm 37w must get myself fitted for a feeding bra and all that jazz. So glad to have finished work finally.
Bit flummoxed by all this Sept/Oct rivalry - can't find the so-called "offending" bits on here but popped on to see October still banging on about what a bitchy bunch are due in Sept, how glad they are they stayed on the Oct thread even though their due date changed etc etc. Who has time for that, really! Hope it all calms down again soon and can't believe how the internet can descend into playground sometimes!
Hoping we may hear from Debi soon - good luck - and an dupdate from sunshine and others who have delivered. eandz hope all is well, our paths may cross yet then!!

slinkiemalinki · 31/08/2008 20:23

PS Debi you have my sympathies on the school year thing - isn't it madness. Cross your legs girl ! And best of luck.

Debs75 · 31/08/2008 20:37

Congratulations potxola sounds like a rough time in hospital bet you're glad to be home

DebitheScot · 31/08/2008 20:45

right I've caught up with what I missed since was last on here on Friday so now the contractions can start. Come on please...

MummyToOneForNow · 31/08/2008 21:01

Good luck Debi and hope it hangs on until after midnight if this is it! Know what you mean about the school year thing - fortunately I'm not due to another 3 weeks (although would be very happy to go into labour any time after midnight tonight )

eandz · 31/08/2008 21:26

Slinkie i hope our paths do cross, you seem like a good pasta buddy.

debithescot good luck! i'm excited for you.

Pidge · 31/08/2008 21:28

This thread is impossible to keep up with! I was offline on hols for a few days and there are 23 new pages (not to mention the ones on the old thread, which I'm just going to forget about!).

So apologies for the generalising - big congrats on all the new babies, and welcome new folks. I'll try to scan back through all the messages I've missed at some point.

Still no kitchen here, though there is progress, so this baby can merrily stay put for a while. I have two more weeks of work, then freedom. Hooray.

Kagey · 31/08/2008 21:37

Hi all,

So happy to hear of all the new arrivals - congratulations. I'm not sure if I am or very nervous now!

I moved last weekend which was a bit traumatic but we are in now and just catching up on the whole 'nesting' thing. However my maternity leave started a couple of weeks ago so I am nicely rested and waiting patiently.

Baby is not engaged so think she will be late (typical her daddy is always late too!).

Good luck to you all and take care,
Kx

jearund · 31/08/2008 21:41

Potxola I've been out all day and only just got on Mumsnet. It's great to hear your story, I've been thinking about you ever since Thursday and wondering how you were getting on. I've taken lots of mental notes in case any of the same things happen to me! I'm really glad things are working out now with the BF and that you are out of hospital. Interesting about the dummies - we've always been against them too but I hope that I too will follow my maternal instinct if Dougie wants one (we did try once with DD when she had trouble sleeping but she didn't take to it). Also interesting about the Arnica - so when did you take your first dose? And the second was 4 hours later? Do you dissolve them under your tongue? When you started BF just after the op what position did you do it in? I am wondering whether it's possible to sit up if you use pillows or if you absolutely have to lie down (I found positioning easier sitting up).

I remember the same as you with the midwives taking ages to come last time - although not as long as half an hour. It is so frustrating because you just want to be able to attend to your baby and you can't do it without help. Great that you were up and about and able to shower after 24 hours though.

I'm so pleased DS is so excited! It must be so special for you as a family. I'm glad he was happy at the nursery too. What a relief.

I'm going to read the rest of the day's posts now! Besos xxx

P.S. How do you pronounce 'potxola'? I was reading the first few pages of mamis espanolas yesterday and now know what it means (I think it's a sweet nickname, I'm glad you didn't change it!) but don't know how to pronounce the x in Basque!
