Midwife appointment went ok - wee normal, BP low (but thats normal for me) measuring 38cms (I am 37 weeks today) and heard babys heartbeat. Baby still head down and 2/5 engaged.

Saw on my notes on the computer that my hb level is 10 - which is definately anaemic - am so annoyed it took so long to get treated. No wonder I have been feeling so tired/rubbish.

Have made another appointment on 11th Sept - REALLY hope I have had him by then!

mama oooh...could be you next!

eandz · 28/08/2008 15:38

i think biglips is next. isn't it serious if you don't go into labor within 24 hours after leaking your water?

becaroo · 28/08/2008 15:48

Just reread biglips post - I think you should ring the hospital and get it checked out biglips, especially with your LO being breech....

mamamufin · 28/08/2008 15:48

Sorry guys . I am feeling much better now (after another bowel movement, tmi). Maybe I was constipated? Whatever it was has passed. It did send me into a whirl though. I packed ds bag in case he had to be shipped out to a friends overnight (my parents down south), I re packed my hospital bag and discovered I had not put any nappies in it, I made a big brother card and tydied round like a mad women. At least now I am more organised and have a clean house .
Hopefully I am so pleased your pram has come at last. What colour did you go for?
I cant believe nobody told you your hb was low becaroo, I hope you feel better soon.
carrieon you must really be looking forward to a long weekend child free. Enjoy getting those feet done. I was hoping to get my feet and hair done a few days before my edd. However, with over two weeks left I dont think I can hold out. My hair and feet are a mess. I might see if I can bring the appointments forward.
Sorry for long post

mamamufin · 28/08/2008 15:50

Oh yes biglips I would get checked out as its a risk of infection if left too long. Good luck

lollipopmother · 28/08/2008 16:04

Hopefully - I am the same as you, I've not had a single BH, I feel really good and there's no signal what so ever that I'm ever going to actually give birth to this baby! The last couple of months I haven't felt at all pregnant and my skin has completely cleared up (it was horrible for whole of second trimester).

Maybe I am just going to be pregnant forever and not actually give birth - I was saying earlier that I love being pregnant, but I do rather want the baby too!!

kiskidee · 28/08/2008 16:09

EandZ I have emailed you on your gmail acct.

wot!?, No more babies yet? Disappointed in you lot.

hopefully · 28/08/2008 16:23

Lollipop I've been exactly the same! I am worried that the baby has taken my comments about enjoying pregnancy to heart, and has decided to just not come out at all...

Mamamuffin we went for dark grey base with red upper - I'm so pleased with it! It looks really smart. Although I will think of 2LF with disgust every time I look at it, which is a shame. I'm going to feel like such a trend follower pushing it round (even though DP chose it, and doesn't know anything about what's 'in')

barnpot · 28/08/2008 16:31

hi all, after all my excitement of LO turning to be head down yesterday, he's turned back again, so still breech. Also been getting shooting like period pain on my right side, which comes and goes. Not had any leaking or a show. Can this be labour pains even if hes not engaged?

OP posts:
hopefully · 28/08/2008 16:35

No idea if that's labour pains, but from what I hear there's no reason for labour not to start even if you're not engaged...

hopefully · 28/08/2008 16:36

you're not engaged? rather baby isn't engaged. Your marital status probably doesn't matter.

MelT76 · 28/08/2008 16:54

Hopefully if you get a report of the who the directors of the company are off Companies House I think it list their home address. Would love to be a fly on the wall when a complaint letter arrived at their home!!! Also put in your letter that you have forwarded a copy to Trading Standards and you are giving them 28 days to come up with a suitable fix to all of your problems or you are going legal on them! I love a good fight

lollipopmother · 28/08/2008 17:04

Hopefully - Ahh shit, I'm not engaged, that must be why the baby doesn't feel like coming out!

lollipopmother · 28/08/2008 17:05

I've just made a batch of mince pies, absolutely no idea why, but they look lush and I fully intend on eating them all!

barnpot · 28/08/2008 17:10

I'm married, baby not engaged not met any girls yet

lollipopmother · 28/08/2008 17:18

Pah, some kids are just slow starters!

hopefully · 28/08/2008 17:24

Lollipop I have decided that all my nesting instinct is manifesting itself in mad desire to cook. In the past 2 days I have made muffins, fridge cake (v slimming - chocolate, syrup, butter, digestives, marshmallows and dried fruit), loads of bolognese sauce for freezer for food emergencies and thai chicken pasties for dinner. Am also planning on roast tomato soup tonight for dinner. Just call me Nigella.

Sorry to hear that no one is engaged. this must mean we will never go into labour. Shall start dropping hints to DP about diamonds.

lollipopmother · 28/08/2008 17:28

I just took my DPs credit cards away from him so there's no way I'll be getting any diamonds!

Hopefully - I am loving the sound of the soup, is it easy to make? Tomorrow I am making home made Salmon en croute, could be a disaster as I've not tried it before, but I'm quite good at baking and it has pastry involved so I might be able to pull it off!

eandz · 28/08/2008 17:52

kiskidee

i just read your email . I'm going to ask some of the wives over in abu dhabi about employability and stuff.

mustsleep · 28/08/2008 18:02

hi every one

potzola you will have your baby now how exciting!!!!!

went to midwifes today and got told that even though my notes said i was 36 weeks over two weeks ago i am now only 37 +5 !!!
so now i have to do this week again i've really had enough

the head still isn;t down but is at the brim which can only be good and i am measuring 38 cms

the midwife was a bit snippy when i asked about where i would phone if i went into labour and said that i would only be able to have a home birth if the staff levels were permitting but sounded like she clearly doubted it!!... cowbag

at least ds is back at school next week will feel better once we have the first couple of days back at school out of the way before baby comes or obv if he comes a couple of days before that would be great ......... my waters willprob breakin the playground first morning back!!

jearund · 28/08/2008 18:09

I wonder how Potxola is doing? She must have had Lorea by now - in fact her DH should be picking her DS up the nursery now.

I saw the chiropracter this afternoon. Unfortunately I have torn a muscle, he showed it me on his model skeleton and it's a pelvic one. He said it's a good job I'm having the CS as apparently it would make labour more difficult (something to do with it partially blocking the birth canal...didn't really understand but it doesn't really matter!). He wasn't able to just click it back into position either, I have to go back on Saturday morning and in the meantime rest as much as possible and walk to keep muscle moving (that sounds like a tautology!) and absolutely no lifting. DH has called work and told them he won't be in tomorrow and my parents are going to help out on Sunday. What a nuisance - I so nearly made it too - only 2 weeks 5 days until D-Day!

Hopefully glad you've finally got your buggy. I have told DH never to use 2LF!

We also had some deliveries today - the crib and bedding and the doll and toy moses basket to give to DD from DS when he is born. Very sweet! I'm dying for DH to put the crib up, I know we don't need it yet but it's all part of that nesting instinct!

Biglips I agree you should get checked out if you're leaking waters because of the risk of infection and also once they've broken they will carry on leaking so if that really was your waters you will be having the baby in the next couple of days, one way or another! Sounds like probably by CS seeing as it's turned back again.

biglips · 28/08/2008 18:17

jearund - yes absolutely lots and lots of rest - ouch!!...

My baby hadnt turned back yet (ive read it was Barnpot's Lo had turned back to breech). I rang and explained what had happened and also im going in hosp to get the baby turned on Monday so they said to put a towel on and keep an eye on it and if any more or colour then go in to the hosp.

Hopefully - lol!!!..

kiskidee · 28/08/2008 18:17

"the midwife was a bit snippy when i asked about where i would phone if i went into labour and said that i would only be able to have a home birth if the staff levels were permitting but sounded like she clearly doubted it!!... cowbag"

huh? is she saying you may not be able to have a HB because they may not have the staff to cover it? It seems like this is the most frequent excuse they use to deny women their HB.

biglips · 28/08/2008 18:19

lollipopmother - ...prob thats where we're going wrong, with us not being engaged!

yes hope it all went well for Poxtola

eandz · 28/08/2008 18:21

OMG I HAVE TO HAVE Carrot Cake, like RIGHT NOW, RIIGHHHTTT NOW!!!!

but my fat butt is too big to waddle around and my pelvis hurts and my vagina is all achey and i'm wondering why i can't be one of those beautiful happy healthy pregnant women who are all thin and flexible (naturally). argh!!!
