Also to add Annvan I have finally ordered my wrap. Gone for the black with red silk moby d.
Hope I have made the right choice, already thinking maybe should have just gone for the moss green moby.

Cant wait for it to come as have only used my double pram once, havnt even tackled putting it in and out of car yet and dont like it.

AnnVan · 02/09/2008 17:56

black with red silk - sounds fab! Well done. I know I haven't quite got the hang of it yet - but I know I will, I think it's a matter of practice (and not having a huge bump) Where did you order it from??

no1putsbabyinthecorner · 02/09/2008 18:27

Bigmamaslings.
I cant wait. feel like a kid waiting for christmas

AnnVan · 02/09/2008 18:41

Hehe!
It's good isn't it? Let me know when it arrives - I was so impressed that mine literally arrived the next morning!

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 19:59

cyteen well done you - lovely news and welcome Joesph

had a good day, dd2 got new shoes without kicking lumps out of the shoe shop staff, dd1 happy as a pig in much at school and Dylan now weighing in at 11lb 9oz!!

must be doing something right even if I am constantly ravenouse and eating like a troll and not loosing any weight

AnnVan · 02/09/2008 20:30

Dizzy my mum has the wii fit - she loves it, goes on about it all the time!
Good to hear you've had a good day.

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 20:34

hoping you've managed to rest today at some point too ann

am off to look at amazon/play/ebay to cost one!

sarahnh · 02/09/2008 20:39

buckets.. i shove infacol straight into tess's mouth just before feeding and now she knows to expect it before a feed.. apparently it is only suspose to work if you use it at every feed and i think it is working here...

major rant ahead so sorry in advance..

why oh why did i decide today to read the Gina Ford book.. Tess has been waking up at 1am and 5am for feeding and i'm finding it quite hard as dh has moved to the spare room as he is back at work... gina ford gave great advice on how to tackle this and made me realise that maybe tess was sleeping alittle too much in the day and not getting enough milk.. queue a wake at 2.45pm , changed and feed her and she started to go back to sleep.. so mummy tickled her and played with her ..... 5 and a half hours later, 2 feeds and a near sucidial mother (dh at footie not back for another 1/2 hour) Tess has finally gone to sleep arghhhhhhhhhhhh..... think i should throw the book out??? thoughts?? xxxx

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 20:42

sarah take Gina ford, place in shredder and hit button/ place in fire and chuck in match/ put in bin and take to recycling

unless you like to make yourself feel inadequate otherwise carry on !

sarahnh · 02/09/2008 20:44

Thanks DD i was thinking the exact same thing myself .... not sure what possessed me to even think about reading it!!!

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 20:47

I read it too with dd1, there were one or two good tips/pointers etc but then it just wasn't for me at all, am afraid it only works if you're at least middle class with a clean/tidy house and dh who works a 9-5 job and does his share round the house

you can imagine that this is not how it works in my home

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 20:47

am to save you some money in a few years, don't bother with the potty training in one week publication either

sarahnh · 02/09/2008 20:50

tidy house?? whats that??.. i have managed to trip over the same pair of shoes three times in the last 10 minutes.. there is washing everywhere and don't get me started on the state of the kitchen... all the while i am sitting on my fat ass, stuffing nyself with chocolate and playing on the internet

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 20:50

which is where, as a new mother, you should be - good job well done

sarahnh · 02/09/2008 20:51

glad i didn't know about that one, dd1 is 3 this month almost potty trained but still needs to do her poos in a nappy.... reckon gina would put me in the naughty corner for that

dizzydixies · 02/09/2008 20:54

dd2 has decided she wants to wear grown up pants but she's too wee so we're having a lot of accidents - am not pushing my luck tbh - have enough to be getting on with right now!

TwilightSurfer · 02/09/2008 21:09

Sarah I think it's just a "time" factor with the feeds. Years ago I was told by a wise person that an infant will not sleep through the night until their weight is approximately 16lbs. At 16lbs they've developed enough "stores" to maintain their metabolism for longer periods...thus allowing them to sleep during the night. DD1 was very slow to gain weight so sleepless nights were long standing. Reese, I'm hoping, will be different and reach the sleep-weight goal sooner. I do notice she's sleepier at night therfore she feeds minimally...just enough to allow her to fall back to sleep which means she's up often. During the day she's proving to be alert more therfore more involved in the feeding process which in turn allows her nicer naps (not necessarily longer naps but she seems to sleep more soundly...occasionally sleeping for longer periods). I hope all that made sense.

Dizzy we've had a good day here too. DD1 is LOVING her return to school and was such a big girl getting herself ready today. We even shopped for a few minutes after school to find her pants and I must say SHE WAS AMAZINGLY WELL BEHAVED.

OH and I'm STILL loving my MOBY WRAP. I put it on this morning and had the most wonderful hands free day with Reese. Wraps and carriers are not the NORM in these parts so I get loads of interesting looks then smiles as they realize it's a little baby wrapped up snuggly. So many keep their babies in their carseats or put them in strollers but with my CS both those things are still too heavy for me. I am so happy I splurged on this wrap.

Here's hoping all the twinges the "still-pregnant" ladies are feeling are REAL labour twinges. >

glad you've had a good day TS
am loving the sling too - very handy for the school run which am always late for

TwilightSurfer · 02/09/2008 21:13

May I add my name to the NOT TIDY HOUSE list? Beside me sits FIVE baskets of CLEAN laundry. I seem to be able to get the dirty stuff in the washer and then into the drier but after that.......it's lucky it makes it into a basket.

Well done cyteen and Mrcyteen. And while we're at it, Joseph too! Great weight (exactly the same as DD1). Hope you have a good rest now.

So pleased to hear of the good days today. I'm more with you sarah, but for entirely different reasons. Emily was lovely and well-behaved today. DD1 on the other hand..... Today was her no nursery day and we went over to a friend's for lunch. Cue four hours of me constantly chasing her, putting her clothes back on, removing pens from sofas, her clothes and on one occasion, friend's baby's ear. Ended up having to leave . SO stressful, but tbh, sort of what I'd feared 2 x small ones would be. So much for not picking up anything heavier than the baby for 6 weeks, post section. At one point I had DD2 in carseat, bulging changing bag, our coatsin one arm and tantruming DD1 in the other. Bleeding again now, but not much so am sure it'll be fine. Having a large magnum and glass of wine, just to be sure .

Sorry for the me, me rant. SUCH a rubbish day. Oh and DD2 took 2 hours to go back to sleep after her feed in the night so rather tired, but have supple hips from LOTS of rocking. SO hoping it won't be like that again tonight...
