Dozymare · 01/09/2008 20:00

welcome back lola glad you had a lovely time, weather here has been PANTS...great big Briget Jones ones....

Pinky have emailed you!

Just waiting for my cheese to melt now!

Yum yum yum yum

PInkyminkyohnooo · 01/09/2008 20:43

yay glad you had a lovely hol lola, yes hiccups, especially when one is just settling down for a sleep or somesuch. starts off cute but can get v.annoying.

I agree abou the bump- I feel like mine's grown massively over the last few weeks, but then the baby does start gaining quite a bit of weight from this point on.

ceebee I'm on it, don't worry, you will get your blanket v.soon!

ceebee74 · 01/09/2008 20:45

Pinky - hope it didn't sound like I was rushing you in any way as I am absolutely not!! Just dying to see what it looks/feels like and as I am not buying much new stuff for this baby, the few things I am buying, I am ridiculously excited about

vbab78 · 01/09/2008 20:48

WOW 4 of us 'up north'. love the idea of meeting up.

ruthosaurus - what is your line manager's problem?! You are well within you rights to change your finish date with enough notice. It is only 11 days earlier anyway. You must run that area for them so you have got them worried.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 01/09/2008 21:13

not at all, ceebee! I like making them, I only started doing it as a bit of a hobby, making dollies, blankets and sleeping bags for my lo's. I'm very flattered that people seem to like them.

I'M in S.Manchester, do I qualify for up north?

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2008 21:24

I'm in Leeds and can travel (well so far)

Obs, sorry you've been feeling so crap and are still being sick. I had MS till about 23 weeks with DD, but more nausea than actual heaving. I hope things settle down for you soon and that you make it across London without mishap.

Hi to all those back from hols.....our week at the coast (and didn't we pick the best week weatherwise) seems like an age ago, and it was only four weeks.

Pinky, DD loves her blanket and snuggles up to it every night. She tries to put one of her other teddies in the pocket though, but it's too big and she gets really grumpy about it

tegan, get yourself checked out as soon as possible. I hope it's no more than a bad case of piles rather than anything worse.

My heartburn is back with a vengeance and I've thrown up a couple of times with it. Virgil is back to being heads up; silly baby!

Hey to beaches and welcome to the thread

had a busy few days; getting things ready for school which starts tomorrow and getting a new shower and madly rushing to clarks as DSs pumps are too small and the new ones we got him are too big so had to get a half size and clarks are the only place I could find that had them.

Sorry if I missed anyone; memory is shocking at the minute.

DH is going to be sending out the secret stork emails over the next few days If you've had nothing from him in a few days; badger him with emails until he sorts it out

If anyone else wants to join the secret stork this is your last chance........email my DH at mumssecretstork @ yahoo co uk

MonkeyMargot · 01/09/2008 21:29

PinkyMink - Ooh i really love your stuff. I would definitely like to order a blanket please - but can't decide between Juicy Garden or Fabulous Juicy Jungle. Bearing in mind I don't know sex of baby, would you advise one over the other between those two?
lolabella glad you enjoyed your hols. You certainly haven't missed much weather-wise here...I'm going away this saturday for a week, last hol with DH without baby.
Re. hiccups, not sure if I've had them. But we went out for a curry tonight, and now I'm having the weirdest feeling in my belly (possibly Braxton Hicks?) Belly feels really tight (and not just cause I've eaten too much).

Heartmum2Jamie · 01/09/2008 21:54

I keep hearing about these blankets, has anyone got a link? I want to have a look, you can never have too many blankets for baby!

Welcome back Lolabella!

This baby gets the hiccups alot, as did ds1. It is hard to tell at first, but baby hiccups feel like a very rythmic, gentle kicking or tapping over and over in the same place, or at least that's how it feels to me!

Margot what you described sounds like braxton hicks, a non painful but maybe uncomfortable tightening of the belly. I get some days where I don't get them and other days where I just start to worry about how long I have been having them, or the number in an hour when they stop as quickly as they came. It can be a sign you need to put your feet up and have a glass of water. I was having BH during tea tonight and baby decided to wake up at the same time and have a stretch. Lets just say I am glad he doesn't do that often, as I had wriggly fingers wayyyyy down low and baby feet pushing off my ribs.....in the middle of BH. OUCH!!!

I have another scan booked for tomorrow to recheck the baby's heart just to make sure he is absolutelty healthy and showing no signs of a late developing narrowing anywhere. They will also check babys growth as I measured 6 weeks ahead at 28 weeks. I am betting I have alot of water again, like I did with ds1. Will hopefully get the all clear tomorrow and be told that I am a good candidate for a home birth.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 01/09/2008 21:58

Monkey- could well be braxton hicks- imagine cast iron knickers and that the one!

Hiccups are really clear-repetitive 'jumps' it's baby swalloing fluid and getting hiccups..bless.

Re blankets- can you email me pinkyminky at mac dot com and we can have a chat about what you would like?

Lacks- feel bad now.. cloth not wide enough for bigger pockets..

MerryMarigold · 01/09/2008 22:01

Margot - ooooh, can I help you choose?!! I think the garden is a bit flowery for a boy (not TOO into 'sexed' stuff but it is really pretty)...Jungle one is really nice/ unisex, and so are both the fishy ones. Definitely get the minky fleece, it is soooooooo soft. Perhaps the jungle one with a blue fleece as this would still be nice for a girl (lots of pink on the fabric) but a blue fleece could make it a bit more boyish too...or I have the fishy one with a lemon fleece for my boy, but it is very unisex too and the pale yellow fleece is beeeeeyoootiful.

misdee · 01/09/2008 22:03

i managed to get my growth scan done, baby is fine, bang on target, and is def a girl.

had to reschedule ante-natel clinic for next week.

dd3 is fine

MerryMarigold · 01/09/2008 22:03

Pinky - do you need an advertising agency? My rates are cheap.

LackaDAISYcal · 01/09/2008 22:07

lol pinky, the issue is with DD entirely; the blanket and toy is just lovely, and to be fair, the bear she is trying to stuff in is about a foot and a half high

I'm off to do a bit of ironing, more knitting and then off to bed.

MM definately sounds like BH. Keep hydrated. I was told at least 3litres a day when I had really painful and strong ones with DD. Apparently they can get more noticeable/worse with subsequent pregnancies as well.

and, one last thing; is anyone else dreading the weather turning colder for the coat/footwear issues? None of my coats will fasten (although I did buy a longline cardi with a single button fastening which drapes either side of my bump, but it isn't waterproof) and if I have my feet in anything shoe/boot like they feel like they are about to explode, especially with the restless thing going on.

MonkeyMargot · 01/09/2008 22:09

oooh heartmum - BH and simultaneous kicking in your mary - ouch!!
MerryMari - you're prob right that about the garden for a boy. Thanks for the advice from a satisfied customer!
PinkyMink Will e-mail you now. MerryMari just mentioned a jungle one and some fishy ones. I am going off your website so maybe there are some new patterns I haven't yet seen.

MerryMarigold · 01/09/2008 22:15

Margot, there are pics of other fabrics on pinkyminky's profile page

vbab78 · 01/09/2008 22:15

pinky & lacks - YIPPEE! More people for the 'north' group.

So far ... Ceebee, Mum2becks, Vbab, ruthosaurus, pinky & lacks. Would be so cool if we could get together at some point.

Beaches · 01/09/2008 22:17

Hi ladies, just popped in to say good evening! Have been nesting with a vengence today and feeling the effects of it now!!! Just scanned over the thread, someone mentioned heartburn, I take half a teaspoon of bicarb of soda in a little warm water, my granny swore by it and it really works. Honestly burping is a pleasure after you take it

vbab78 · 01/09/2008 22:31

misdee - glad to hear baby is ok and your DD3 op went ok and hopefully is on the mend. I'm definitely going to find out my door stop safety things as DS (2yrs) on occasion loves closing doors. Unfortunately he has only one speed, fast, he's also very strong so always slams really hard.

twinklingfairy · 01/09/2008 22:51

Oh obv you poor thing I hate that part of pregnancy and am worried that it will come back for me too. My heart goes out to you having to deal with it at this stage It is just not fair!

tegan It could just be combined constipation and piles? Mine can be really awful Quite scary, when trying to go, when I get really backed up, yikes

Margot BH, they can be really uncomfortable.
I didn't know it was lack of fluids, or I didn't realise that drinking more would help.
I was getting lots of them with doing so much driving recently. It was V strange feeling when trying to change gear. Who knew you used your tummy a bit when doing that?

I also think baby may have been getting hiccups. I hadn't realised. DD got them all the time in the later stages. But if it is that rythmic thing, then I am sure this baba has had them quite a lot already.

27 weeks this week and I have an appointment with the consultant tomorrow. Hopefully will chase up my 28 week scan, which they said I would get but no word as yet?

Heartburn. Mine is not too bad, yet! Bicarb and a bit of warm water eh? hmm I might try that next time. So far it has not been bad enough to reach for the gaviscon, but another alternative would be good

twinklingfairy · 01/09/2008 22:54

You guys 'up north'
teehee
Up North, I am falling off the top of the country, 15 miles from John O' Groats, Now that is North!
