misdee · 31/08/2008 12:45

dh is in a sulk

i think its cos i told him he is unlikely to get any sex until xmas.

my hips are still causing my pain and no sign of physio referral yet. have a check up tomorrow at the hospital and growth scan as well, so will blub at the midwives thwere and see if they can speed things up.

will also be telling them i want a homebirth. i was looking at birth pools until i saw that o na slow tank it could take 3hours to fill up, i decided not to, seeing as last two labours have been under 3hours.

MerryMarigold · 31/08/2008 12:51

Hey misdee. well tell your dh to count his lucky stars if he has had any sex since feb.! My friend had a very quick labour/ homebirth/ in pool. Her dh had to fill up with buckets and kettles of hot water...to speed it up. Even then it was only just in time...so maybe not risk it!

ceebee - aerobics! That's just a step too far for my imagination. I can IMAGINE nesting (not done any, but I can imagine it), but sporting activity, even walking...nope. slobbing in front of the intenet. definitely.

misdee · 31/08/2008 12:53

the only palce to set it up would;ve been in front of the living roomm windows. wow what a view i'd give the neighbours lol.

i dont want to risk giving birth on the hard shoulder of the A1(m) getting to hospital.

MerryMarigold · 31/08/2008 12:55

Oh no. The A1M can be a nightmare at certain times of day. Homebirth without water seems best option. Where do you live misdee. I am always driving past A1M on way to parents.

misdee · 31/08/2008 12:57

i'm in welwyn garden city

hospital i;m down to give birth at is the lister in stevenage. on a clear day i can be there within 20mins. but a bad day can be baaaaad. and rush hour it can take 45mins just to reach the A1

Beaches · 31/08/2008 14:35

I am having a homebirth too! Starting to get scared now though lol, My first was meant to be a homebirth but there were complications, I am under perinatal psch at Kings so I am hoping that they alongside Brierly midwives and lots of reading will give me back the confidence I had first time around..
I have the house to myself today and cant decide if I should slob on the sofa or sort out cupboards!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 31/08/2008 14:53

Hi all
Just reporting back form my holidays. Had a really lovely time.
Dh had been being really grumpy until he realised it was the ibuprofen the dr had given him for his knee problem. As soon as soon as he stopped taking it he was back to his old self, thank goodness.
Sorry to hear people have been feeling achy and fed up.

RE-sling I have a Didymos and it has been fab. I also have a podaegi, which is very good for toddlers.

Sorry to interrupt your homebirth discussion- am v.jealous- prolly booking my 3rd cs next week but ho hum.

Beaches · 31/08/2008 15:04

Where did you go for hols?? My sister is off to Turkey today, jealous? Me? Not much!! Mind you I did recently have a fab hol in Ireland with the family, very rustic

MerryMarigold · 31/08/2008 15:53

welcome back pinky. You have been missed.

misdee, my parents are in Tring, near Hemel, so I drive round the M25 A LOT (they do it 4x per week) and past the A1M junction. Is Stevenage your nearest hospital? Or did you choose it because it is good. I assume it is yor nearest or they would not send midwives to you for homebirth. I have about 5 hospitals within 20 mins drive (when it's not rush hour) - the advantage of East London. The disadvantage is that they are ALL overcrowded and at the best one you can't park anywhere. The one I've chosen is the nearest and has ok parking (tho expensive).

Someone I barely know just came round and gave me a huge hamper of nappies and liners and waterproof pants. I am . It must be worth a bomb. Apparently someone gave them to her (unused) and she never used them either. But how generous! Lacks, they are onelife nappies. I have 20 shaped nappies (one size) and 4 of each size of outer lining (so will def need more of those if I go down this route) and absolutely LOADS of biodegradable liners. I think these nappies will be too huge for little babies as they are one size, but I could probably start using them when they are 9lbs or so. I am excited . It has made my rubbish day.

MonkeyMargot · 31/08/2008 16:43

Hello ladies! And welcome beaches!
I went to a wedding yesterday at Goodwood House - it was absolutely amazing, but I am paying the price today - am totally knackered....managed to boogie on down with my DH (who was v.pissed but is a good dancer!) til 11pm, then drove back to London whilst DH snored...am shattered.
On subject of sex , my DH doesn't seem all that interested anymore, prob cause I look like a Weeble!

Beaches · 31/08/2008 16:48

I have the opp problem! Not sure why but my lovely other half finds the idea of most appealing! I am fighting the good fight but thrush, piles plus the fact I can no longer find my bikini line let alone wax it is starting to prove rather taxing!!
Loving all the attention though

vbab78 · 31/08/2008 21:01

merrymarigold - congrats on getting a cleaner . Know what you mean about being harder 2nd time around but my pregnancy cant compare to yours as you are carrying 2 babies!

obs - glad everything ok at hospital check.

beaches - Welcome. You are due the same day as me . My second time too and also hoping the tales that second time labour is easier and quicker!

ceebee - glad to hear DS was good with you holding a baby. My DS surprised me at how good he was a few weeks ago when I when to a friend's house who has a 6 month old. I of course was playing with the baby, but involving DS, he was great. Without prompting he kept giving the baby the baby toys. However when baby took a shine to DS favorite book he was nasty or anything but kept saying its mine. But once I involved DS with showing it to baby he was fine.

Love the idea of meeting up. I live in Rotherham ,South Yorks. Just paranoid I don't bore or disappoint you in person.

Also aerobics! WOW! My aerobics is chasing DS and tidying up after DH.

misdee - SEX! What's that?! Oops I think i know . I thought me and DH seemed to have re sparked the flame after our trip to York in July for our wedding anniversary

misdee · 31/08/2008 21:03

stevenage is the same trust but not the closest hospital to me.

anyway tomorrows appointments will have to be cancelled. dd3 had a incident with a door today and needs to have a minor op tomorrow at stevenage to repair the damage, and iahve to be with her for 8am appointment. so am cancelling my appointments.

vbab78 · 31/08/2008 21:17

My weekend - Finally the nursery has been plastered so hopefully will be able to decorate at the weekend. Then I can start getting baby stuff organised and buy DS some wardrobes and drawers for his new room.

DS is a super star in my eyes (always) because he has had a pretty good first week of potty training wearing big boy pants when at nursery, home or nans house. Just the occasional accident. Although on Thursday morning he would do really well then accident then good again. Weird.

DS has also for the first time slept in his new BIG boy room in his new big boy bed (single size) and went no problem and was snoring by 8pm. My big boy so proud of him. Hopefully it will continue.

DH has also said that he wants to get the living room sorted (plastered, decorated, new fire fitted and everything else) ASAP rather than after baby. So cant rest just yet. I do agree with DH completely just paranoid that this baby will come early and just want to rest at some point and try to get organized (9 weeks left tomorrow).

Went for nice walk but DS and DH today. However it was soooooo uncomfortable for me and it was a LONG walk. I was so sore in my lady bits I think from baby's head bashing me. I'm sure I didn't suffer like this at this stage with DS but DS I think was back to back the whole time which I think this one isn't.

SORRY for double post got really bad internet connection at mo.

vbab78 · 31/08/2008 21:20

misdee - hope DD3 is not too badly hurt and things are sorted tomorrow.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 31/08/2008 21:23

sorry to hear that, misdee. poor thing.

Beaches- hello! Lots of people have joined us since I've been away- how lovely. We went camping in Cornwall and had a really good time, thanks.

I discovered today that we brought an extra passenger home with us- there was a toas slepping in the passenger seat footwell! He seems to be settling in ok in the front garden.

DM if you would like me to make you some blankets, just email me at my pinkyminky address and I'll get on it. I have a couple to make this week, and then I really must finish painting the kitchen cupboards- I started
redecorating the kitchen back in Feb, I think .

vbab I make sleeping bags for my own children all the time!

SEx erm.well we have had a certain amount of it, but not really the actual deed, IYSWIM. I just find that far too much of a faff whyen pg.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 31/08/2008 21:26

that was a toad, sleeping, by the way! Please excuse my appalling typing!!

VBAB yay for your little big boy! DD was very envious of DS's ready bed on holiday- she kept getting in it. Time for her to move out of her cot soon, perhaps.

Beaches · 31/08/2008 21:28

ooooo I am cross Just opened a brand new carton of milk and it is off!!! Have to carry my big old bump out in the rain to get some now! I hate it when that happens!

As for sex since being preg I have learned to gently nudge my own boundries which is a good thing! Having to be more creative and put more effort in has given us a chance to grow much closer, cant explain it is just lovely, like he sees me diffrently

PInkyminkyohnooo · 31/08/2008 21:41

oh dear sour milk that's no good.

I think I know what you mean about the seex thing, too.

Beaches · 31/08/2008 22:18

Going to keep the sour milk and make soda bread with little one tom

I think as individuals we see each other in a new light, renewed respect for one another I guess, been a long time coming so regardless of numerous preg ailments I plan on milking it

mum2becks · 31/08/2008 22:24

Beaches · 01/09/2008 01:32
