Morning all! I have been offline for a couple of days and I can't keep up with you all. So just wanted to say hi. Pinch punch, first of the month, making it 2 months exactly to my EDD - I am excited and petrified at the same time!

I have a viral throat infection and thanks to bump no drugs for me to fix it - and this morning I lost my voice but luckily I only need my fingers for MN!

So thats all about me - hope everyone else is doing well. x x x

beaches - I'm getting sore down there too. Can walk but uncomfortable. Sleeping ok is far. Just so exhausted I manage to sleep but do turn a lot. DH had me on a long "nice" walk yesterday which just made me realize how uncomfortable and pregnant I am

mum2becks · 01/09/2008 08:46

morning everyone,

beaches i'm having trouble sleeping but mainly because i'm so hot and cant get comfy at all, not really sore though, although when I first get up from either sitting or laying down the first few steps are quite funny like I cant walk properly!!!!

vbab no your arent the only one 'up north' didnt realise you were so close, thought the nearest one on here was Leeds (cant remember who that is though , memory is shocking!!)

Well I have set myself a target for this week - to finish unpacking boxes and clearing anything from the room that is to be dd's new bedroom so that by the end of the week it can be decorated and move her into her big girls bed!! Then next week can hopefully make a start on the nursery finally!!!

ceebee74 · 01/09/2008 08:52

Morning all

Re sleeping - I am ok so far with that but it takes a lot to disrupt my sleep (although DH's snoring the last few nights because he has a cold have not helped!) But I am nearly a month behind some of you so I am sure it will come.

Vbab/Mum2becks - will definitely have to organise a meet-up asap. I think (correct me if I am wrong) our DC's are all a similar age (2) so they will love playing together if we can find somewhere for us all to meet where they can play. Maybe we can set something up for when I start mat leave in October and I can go and stay at my parents for a couple of days? (Obviously anyone else is welcome to join us who lives in South Yorks) What do you think?

I am not planning on moving DS into his big boys bed until the new year sometime - mainly because I can't be bothered at the moment to sort out the spare room and redecorate it (although what on earth makes me think I will be bothered to do it with a month-old baby aswell??)

Hope you all had a good weekend.

Morning ladies.
All this plastering, potty trining success, moving into new big boys beds, moving to Chichester.
All sounds good.
I can't kep up.
My sil yesterday offered to take ds next week. She asked ds if he would like to come on holiday - i.e. to her house to stay with his 2 cousins. He is very excited. BUT she said could we drop him off on sundyy. And she would bring him back on fri. FRIDAY ? 5 days. Is that too long ?
Think of all the things I could do........ On my own...... MN'ing, going for a manicure, some electrolysis. But 5 days without him

cricri · 01/09/2008 12:09

I also can't keep up so apologies in advance to anybody I miss out...
Welcome Beaches It's great that we're still getting newcomers joining us. Hope the last bit of your pg goes better than the first parts did.
Misdee Sorry to hear about DD. Hope all went well today.
Choc Sounds nasty! Hope you feel better soon.
Hanaflower Good luck with all the unpacking. I'm sure once you've got your LO it won't take you long to make friends with people in your new home.
Obs What a dilemma for you, hope you manage to resolve it soon! Hope you had a good massage.
Well, DH and I started our NCT classes yesterday (all day so v intensive!) and it was really good, although thanks to MN I already knew quite a bit. The other couples on our course seem really nice too and there are 14 of us in total so a nice size group. There's a 2h BF session on Wednesday evening and then another all day session next Sunday and then we're done! I'm sure I still won't feel ready though lol
Still not made much progress on the nursery. Work keeps getting in the way! Really hope this baby doesn't come early as I don't stop until 17 October...
Hope everybody else is OK

ruthosaurus · 01/09/2008 13:00

Hi all,

Ceebee, Mum2becks and Vbab - I'm in Sheffield too and go on mat leave from 20th October (have just told line manager and she's not exactly ecstatic cos we thought I was going to work up to 31st but I'm just TOO FLIPPING TIRED for working that long). Ladies who lunch on tiny little portions and then take Rennies in handfuls to counteract heartburn, anyone? Or just daytime TV and fat ankles?

I'm having trouble sleeping as well - Braxton Hicks contractions last night woke me up and I can't breathe properly lying down. Poor DH has a lousy cold that makes him sound like a drain, and also he has a temperature, so I'm all worried about him .

Nesting continues apace - had visit from 22 year old cousin and her 21 year old boyf, who were horrified at how old and overweight and out of breath we are, so they manhandled boxes into the attic for us in return for food. It's like being my granny - I almost tried to give them pocket money as they left.

BUT - now have nearly complete bathroom, empty bedroom and nearly empty nursery! Woo!

Do men nest? DH has now started talking about the need to, and I quote, "deep clean" the house from top to bottom. Not complaining.

twinklingfairy · 01/09/2008 13:10

I have also been away for a week, managed to get on once during, but still it is a struggle to keep up with you guys!

Hello to beaches

Poor DH is out of luck on the sex front. I just can't be bothered I reckon it has a bit to do with how low this baby is riding. DD was defo not this low. This baba seems to be constantly on my bladder and has never moved from it! When you have something constantly kicking at your bladder and nether regions you just don't fancy adding DH knocking at it all to the equation.

Stretch marks though! That certainly isn't helping my confidence. DH loves me, of that there is no doubt, but he does not really come near me when I am pregnant cos he is frightened of hurting me, making me squirm etc etc. Then I just don't feel sexy (I never do though, actractive maybe, but never sexy as such) then you add in horrid stretch marks all on my lower belly and above my belly button. bleurgh.
I really must remember to use the creams!

Dozymare · 01/09/2008 14:04

Hello All - how chatty as per usual¬!!

Welcome beaches the pain sounds very similar in my experience to SPD. Definately worth a mention to your midwife at the next visit.

I had my GTT today, was dreadful as was absolutely starving. I am normally v.v.v.good with needles bvut the midwife was in my arm routing around for at least 20 seconds, I had to ask her to stop. (very trivial compared to what OBs and Merrymary are doing with needles everyday). Will know in 2 days if there is anything wrong.

So, what sort of "themes" are we doing our nurseries in ladies??? I have a very mismatched "theme" going on as prior to a nursery, the room was my study and was bright red with white....I have therefore gone/going for a red and white vintage feel using Laura Ashley Red Bibi and gingham material for bunting and curtains and some Next red heart vintage accessories (subject to winning on ebay!) Quite a grown up/shabby chic style nursery!!!

Can you tell I am stuck at home bored?

PS Did make Brazilian Bananas follow our friday night chat, finished off after my GTT test today - yummy!

AutumnLady · 01/09/2008 14:17

Hi all

Dozy - I'm here and doing OK but was off work on Friday and still don't have internet connection at home, hence me being quiet!! I am in the process of choosing paint for the nursery as mil is coming this weekend to paint. I am going for a neutral colour such as cream/beige/magnolia etc as we will want to sell the flat next year and London buyers love neutral....! The rest of the flat is typical 'London living' by having laminate floors and pale walls and new bathrooms. I do however have blue carpet and blue & white curtains in the spare room/nursery from when it was an office so I think that this little boy will be happy with that

Yours sounds lovely and the red & white theme is great - i bet it will look gorgeous!

Am going to make Brazilian bananas this week as they sound amazing.........

xx

Pinkali37 · 01/09/2008 14:26

Morning,

Will go back and catch up in a moment.

Our theme for nursery is Lemon, the mamas and papas Meadow decor. Carpet was put down today and it's looking lovely. Tonight we will put the cot etc. up so will post a photo.

Ooh did I read sex in some posts? Well... everytime we've done it, i reinforce the fact that DH is very very lucky cos some people don't get it at all during pregnancy. I like to think it makes him keep on his toes!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 01/09/2008 15:03

Everybody sounds very busy with thier nursery decorating!

Red and white sounds lovely, Dozy!
MY childrens rooms have a kind of shabby chic look to them too, but then it's an old house and I've used quite a lot of old painted furniture in their rooms.
DD2 will be sharing with DD so she will have the motherrcare teddy's washday farbic themed curtains and bedding that DD has. I didn't go for pink, but nearer a blue actually, F&B 'borrowed light' which works very well in a north facing room, with cream wooden floors and woodwork.

DD will be going in this huge mams and papas drop sided cot my parents neighbours gave us, and the new baby will have the smaller cot later on. I don't fancy changing her to a bed along with having a new baby.

Gaawd I feel so out of puff all the time!! Been sorting holiday laundry all day and I'm worn out! DS is watching Pingu, DD is asleep.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 01/09/2008 15:11

AND dm just to tempt you, I have been shopping for fabric today and have on order some lovely japanese vintage print fabric (I've put some samples on my profile).

ah Hana I have a lovely big studio on the top floor of our house and NOBODY is having that room but ME

cricri · 01/09/2008 16:08

Hana Our nursery is the box room because I have my office in one room and we don't want to lose the guest bedroom either.
No real nursery theme here (love the sound of red and white DM) although we have ordered new curtains with a blackout lining. The room is neutral (we redecorated before letting the house when we went abroad) so I was thinking of getting a border to brighten it up a bit and stickers to put on the doors of the fitted wardrobe.
No stretchmarks here either but I've also got problems with veins on my legs. Please tell me they will go away again afterwards...
And if somebody has a remedy for restless legs and cramp then that would be good too... At least it's cooler today so hopefully sleeping will be a bit easier tonight.

Dozymare · 01/09/2008 16:14

pinkyminky LOVE THE ANIMAL FABRIC WITH HEARTS and blue background........don't suppose you have the backgrouns in pink do you don't worry if not, i would love that anyway...how do i go about buying and paying - i can paypal if that is easy for you?

i thnk everyone ends up with something as a "war wound" of pregnancy - even super skinny posh spice has said she "hates" her tummy....I have never suffered with veins on my legs or cellulite but my God, my tummy is horrific....lots of stretch marks that do fade eventually but i am very self concious about.......

Most women who have had kids already ahve some kid of permanant reminder of their pregnancies.......

Hana - dso have you made the permanant move out of London - was it being pregnant that drove that decision???

PInkyminkyohnooo · 01/09/2008 16:52

I don't know what my baby war wounds will be yet- I've been having babies so close together, but I don't have stretchmarks so far.Fingers crossed!

DM I don't have a pink background I'm afraid. I did have a white background but that's all gone now and doesn't seem to be in stock anywhere. The elephants are very pink if that helps! I can make it very pink with pink minky or the hyacinth looks very nice.

MerryMarigold · 01/09/2008 17:12

pinkyminky love the Japanese prints! But for myself...

warwounds for myself is just fat, fat and more fat! I was juuuuuuuust losing it and nearly getting back to pre-pregnancy weight when I got pregnant again - and ds was over then! And flabby belly even weight does evenually come off. Also stretchmarks, but not really noticeable as no-one sees that part of my body save dh and he's to focussed on elsewhere when I have no clothes on .

nursery, don't have one, no theme. babies will go in spare room when they are old enough, but in the meantime my parents sleep in there 2zx per week so don't want to make it too baby or put all baby suff in there. I have never had a nursery, and never will either now these are my last . Dozy, red and white sounds cool.

hana, congrats on the house move! Chichester sounds posh! Hope they have better weather than London .

Oblomov · 01/09/2008 17:19

Please ladies. Sorry to be so me,me, me...
But I need a big dose of sympathy. My MS has been really bad for the last week and a half/2 weeks. I am rotten. Being violently sick many times per day. Feel rotten.
