Is it normal for babies movements to slow down /not be as active just before birth?

Ooh, every ten minutes eh oops? That sounds promising I am still achey in the back and bump, so perhaps moving towards a state of pre-labour...slowly...

thanks for all your kind words.. midwife been and taken a swap to make sure there is no infection.. she did saw that i was properly overdoing it.. i have managed also to lose a stone and a half since Tess was born maybe its coming off too quickly??

little Tess is still very snuffly so have got drops to put up her nose.. hate seeing her so distressed...

DH announced today that he has the baby blues .. think its because he was suspose to go out last night to watch the footie but ended up staying in cos of Tess not being well...

he has no gone out tonight ... i would say that he may have cabin fever but he went out last wed/thur and sat.. has not changed a nappy or given a bottle so i'm a bit ....

Sarah Don't worry about Tess having a cold - she'll be ok. dd had them constantly due to ds being around (and being in nursery so bringing bugs home all the time)- she was constantly snotty but she survived - and she is now sick far far less than he is. HTH

sarah am glad MW been and please be careful, it is all too soon for you to be rushing about - have you got the wee one raised to help her snuffling? tell dh its time to get his sleeves rolled up and get stuck in that you're dong too much or we'll send sazzles round to sort him out!

VG your wee man sounds like a wee darling, thats just above the weight that dd2 was when I had her I love big babies - roll on number 4!!!! well, in a few years, maybe

ALBS how did you get on with the counsellor tonight? I still have one side thats grazed and I still tense up when using that side but its slowly getting better - I know I keep harping on about it but I swear that nipple cream I use is fantastic

I've been off the thread for the last few days and completely missed TS and her amazing live birth chat. Gutted. But massive congratulations to you and Reese and I hope you're managing to take it easy and get lots of pampering whilst trying to recover. I can't imagine what a CS is like either so can only send massive .

Nothing much happening here apart from late onset SPD, which has been a bit of a bummer. Had to get wheeled round the supermarket by my parents last week as couldn't walk but fortunately it's been better today. Also noticed I'm now in the waiting room as I was due yesterday. How did that happen?! Still, pleased to report that I now have a kitchen and central heating, so it's just as well the baby is taking its time. :0

Thinking of all of you with BF problems - I ended up FF DS1 after 2 weeks last time and am a bit twitchy about even the idea of BF TBH, so I think you all deserve major congrats for 5am wake-ups, nipple issues etc. etc.

Wishing sleep to all those who need it and some fun olympics to watch for those who are up at 3am...

shall we have a cocktail night tonight? i really fancy a creamy strawberry something or other! i can never remember the names of them so have to look at ingredients every time!
today's milestone was that i bathed DS on my own for the first time. (DP and I have done a team effort before). And you know what, he screamed from getting in the water until he was dressed again. think we'll be going back to our team effort next time!

no1 before i forget... DS movements felt like they'd slowed down alot in the days before he was born. To the extent that i ended up in hospital to be monitored. If you push on your bump do you get a kick in response? It turned out with me that it was that i couldn't feel the movements due to the pre-labour stuff going on (i was in denial and by no means in pre-labour )
But as we always say on here, if you're worried pop along to the hospital and ask them to monitor you. They will completely understand and its always best to get these things checked.

The title on the home page is "common sense breastfeeding" and you know what, it really is! There's even a page for "so, your grandchild is being bf and its not being done how you bf your child" So perfect for anyone having MIL issues! albs there's a section about guzzling hungry babies as well. it describes our DSs to a T!

I had a nap too but on the couch so having slept sitting up last night and this afternoon I don't think my neck will even forgive me [meep]

Just wanted to say thanks for the "chin-up" speeches. Daylight does always help too. Seems I have my most down in the mouth moments in the middle of the night.

Today I took my first shower since last Saturday night. Don't worry I've sink bathed and sitz bathed several times since. All the icky stuff on the tape over my stitches is now gone and all looks fresh (but still very disappointing).

Ran out of hospital supplied formula so sent DH out for mix. Reese didn't handle the powder mix form so DH was sent out again for liquid mix. Seems to be doing fine. Have all bottles for this evening premade and in the fridge. Dread getting up to get them but OH WELL.

Reese is clearly eating 60ml each feeding now. Hopefully that means at least two less feedings overall during the day. Made bottles tonight with 75ml just in case she decides tonight is the night to start topping off.

Use my Moby Wrap for the first time. Reese loved it. I didn't wear it long just over concern for my new inseam but I think once fully healed I'll be LOVING the wrap.

DD1 was a handful today. I started going back to old rules about listening, following rules and no fussing...she was not happy. She told me she was going to call the police and have them take the baby away. Clearly we need more time to adjust.

I would love to join Miamla for a drink however my plumbing is all snarled so will refrain temporarily. DH nicely bought me some stool softener so hopefully in the next 10 hours I'll get some ACTION going. Odd that that's the only pain I have considering. You know my bleeding has even slowed to an almost normal period. At one point today I thought it had stopped altogether.

Feet and ankles look like someone elses....actually two other people as they don't even match each other. Doctor's instructions were to move about to prevent clots but keep feet elevated to decrease swelling....... Would some explain how this is done because last I checked I could not walk on my butt cheeks.

I'm very excited for all those with niggles of prelabour going on. We need to see how many more BIG ONES are in our bunch. Just shows how healthy we are as a group.

I plan to move my laptop back to my desk outside the kitchen so I can MN and feed during the night. So hopefully I'll see you ladies again in a few hours. BUT please don't hold me to that.
