I slept a bit - kept waking up because my hips hurt and cracked every time I shifted in bed. Been awake since about 3.30 though, but stayed in bed even though I couldn't get back to sleep. Still I got SOME slee, which is better than nothing!

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 06:58

Possible TMI but Ive got horrible stomach pain. Feels like the worst trapped wind ever

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 06:59

Going to put on kettle and make DP his morning cuppa.

sarahnh · 20/08/2008 07:09

Hope you are feeling ok AnnVan you are really suffering these last few weeks hugsxx

Gorgeous girl TS and you sound like you have been so brave I'm very very impressed...

well little Tess was a week old yesterday and proved she is definitely in the world by crying continously from 6.30pm til 9.30pm.. dh was awesome tho and took his turn.. she then slept til 1.30am had a feed and slept again til 5.50am so i really cannot complain...

if forgot what its like when they cry and cry and you cannot figure out what is wrong.. the few glasses of rose i had helped tho ...

hope everyone has a good day today, i think some are being induced so big labour vibes to all xxxx

ataraxis · 20/08/2008 07:52

Morning,

Hi TS - CONGRATULATIONS
Hope you are feeling fantastic today. Reese is gorgeous!

But please don't remind me how many days there are left in the month. Desperate to have this LO in August - just so many practical things that will make it easier if she does (school sooner (being a girl i think the additional year would be a nightmare), having a year in school with her oldest brother, a term more of childcare vouchers when she turns 3....) Horribly practical and probably very unfair to LO as I know she will come when she is ready. But I am ready now

annvan - hope your tummy is a bit better but if you are suffering from bad wind - try yoga pose 'downward dog' - works for me (though I do try to do it in a room with no-one else around...)

ataraxis · 20/08/2008 07:53

dizzy - glad your dd had a good first day at school.

sweetkitty · 20/08/2008 07:59

TwilightSurfer - congratulations on the birth of Reese

oopsacoconut · 20/08/2008 08:00

Morning all

Please can we add some days to August i'm thinking days 32-40 would be great. Also TS stop making me closer and closer to the top of the list - DH woke up in a great mood telling me it's only 4 days until my due date and smiled 'I'm going to be a daddy! 'Just what I needed after a night of constant waking needing to go to the loo.

Thanks for the tea Sazzles just what I need.

Off to the midwife today - we have the nice one today and a student - should I ask about sweeps? and how do I get her to check me - I am convinced that the 'wind' feelings without the wind must be doing something. And I felt my cervix almost do a ping lastnight when I went to the loo for the 23rd time and a head move right down.

PetitFilou1 · 20/08/2008 08:38

Hi all

I'm with ataraxis - please let ds2 come in August and not September (for the very same reasons you've mentioned!) Although for a boy it would probably be better for him if he was in the next school year....

Our news is that dh has man flu - great just in time for me to give birth

TS I think Reese looks just like you but haven't had a good look at your dh so might be wrong!

Sazzles my dd has bright blue eyes and blonde hair like your dd1 - I have hazel eyes and brown hair and her dad has brown hair and grey/blue eyes. We have NO idea where the blonde came from!

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 09:01

Thanks for the hugs sarah. And thanks for the yoga tip Ataraxis TS Reese is just adorable.
10 days till due date. Babba still hasn't dropped. Is this normal, or does thins mean its settled in for the long haul?

CaptainCaveman · 20/08/2008 09:11

Aw ts Reese is super cute - she looks like she's been here a few weeks not a few hours, looks so contented. Well done you!!

Also, and I am surprised sazzles hasn't spotted this with her auditors eye - there are 11 days left this month aren't there? Unless you don't have Aug 31st in the US? . Still, we can forgive you, seeing how you've been in labour for about 4 weeks and you have just had major surgery.

annvan I do hope you are feeling better - or better still, that the trapped wind is actually labour!

With you on the feeding marathon miamla, ds2 was feeding between 2 and 6pm pretty constantly. No doubt I will be sleeping later . He definately doesn't like me to lie down and feed him, requires too much effort on his part me thinks . He is also quick to cotton on to how much sucking he needs to do to stimulate 'let down'. He'll have a few quick sucks then just wait for it to be delivered and he can start swallowing - can't fault his ethos really!

Positive labour vibes for those keen for their lo's to arrive this side of Aug 31st

CaptainCaveman · 20/08/2008 09:12

make that between 2 and 6 am...

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 09:16

CC - I can only hope! but I think it really was`wind.

10 more days...

CaptainCaveman · 20/08/2008 09:18

I prayed a lot that ds2 would come early - and Praise God he did!! 16 days ahead of my due date .

New photo of ds2 on my profile

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 09:31

he looks so thoughtful in that picture!

LOL oops, at least your DP is excited about the birth - all I get from mine is terrified looks whenever I mention any strange feeling or pain, along with "Don't go into labour tonight, I want another glass of wine"

(Disclaimer: he is excited, just indulging in his last few opportunities for dad-fear.)

Am seeing the mw this morning as well, I wonder what she'll have to tell me? Am really getting tired of waiting now, I just watched Friends on C4 and it was the one where Rachel has her baby, and I'm ashamed to say I got all teary and jealous

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 10:06

Sazzles - thanks - you've given me new hope!

My DP isn't scared, but he doesn't generally show excitement either. He takes everything totally in his stride, Which is nice most o the time, but a little annoying as well.

AnnVan · 20/08/2008 10:07

I think DP's boss is more scared - she's worried I'll have baby before they manage to catch up on their accounts and give them to the auditors

CaptainCaveman · 20/08/2008 10:21

Must find a pic of ds1 when he was newborn - they are identical!

Just gone through my wardrobe looking for clothes to wear - hmm, I have 2 pairs of mat trousers that fit and 3 sleeveless vest tops. Glam. At least I can get my old jeans over my arse, even if they are no where near being able to be fastened!! I have hope yet. Must go up the loft later and fetch my normal clothes down, so at least I'll have some tops to wear.

Grr, so frustrating not being able to drive atm.....

poppysocks · 20/08/2008 10:24

Hope your DH gets better quick smart, PF. Mine was ill in the days running up to both DDs' appearances - his version of pre-labour perhaps?

I meant to say yesterday AnnVan, about the iron. I had TERRIBLE restless legs last time round and was found to be really anaemic late in the day, started taking the tablets and they cleared up. Then I heard that the two things can be connected. I went to the Dr as soon as they started this time and had an iron test, was really anaemic again, started the tablets and they didn't go away altogether, but were only intermittent and didn't ruin my life again! That's clearly not scientific proof, but the theory worked for me. I know in your shoes I was prepared to try anything, so thought this might be useful!

poppysocks · 20/08/2008 10:28

I'm SO frustrated by the not driving too. Didn't have a car last time round so didn't notice, but the combination of rain + no car = cabin fever here. Grrr.

With you on the clothes CC. Haven't actually been brave enough to try 'normal' clothes yet as am feeling too chuffed to ruin my joy at being down to 10 stone, which it took me 6 weeks to get to last time. That means 1 stone left to get back to normal.... Hoping that there's still some residual pregnancy stuff to come off and we're not at the hard slog stage yet....

Skybluebelle · 20/08/2008 11:05

OMG - just had the shock of my life - just had a look at the latest stats list (congratulations to TS on the birth of Reese) and I appear to be due today. How did that happen
