Thank you

Jacaranda · 07/09/2008 17:12

Also noticed on page 11 you've gone for the Hauck Infinity - am seriously tempted myself. Have you got it yet?

MarkStretch · 07/09/2008 18:01

No. DH says I am not allowed to buy anything until after the 20 weeks scan! Only two weeks to wait...

However, friend at school has one so I have tried it out a little and she's lending me the carrycot and car seat which is good as I don't have to buy it all.

MarkStretch · 07/09/2008 18:05

I am also contemplating one of these but wondering if it is worth it here

PinkTulips · 07/09/2008 18:28

hell yeah.

it was the one piece of equipment i really regretted not having and by the time ds came along i had 2 cots people had given us so there was no way i could justify getting one

that said i'm the co-sleeping type so it would have suited me to have baby that close to just pull towards me for feeds, think it all depends on personality type really.

Tra la la, my lemon pudding recipe is heaven tra la la tra la la

skips off singing

:-)

The only problem is, you can Never Go Back. It's a one way street. Shop bought dried up lemon cake? Er, no thanks.

Can you tell I just had a 2 hour nap? (I'm the WOHP, and I have a blow-up bed in my office for sneaky nap times. Freaks my colleagues out sometimes but 'tis essential to my daily functioning in pregnancy and there's noone else here on a Sunday anyway )

Lol Onward, we just had it for dessert with custard, was gorgeous!

Pink- so you think it's worthwhile then? I will be b/f and we were going to get a moses basket and then a cot bed but I think now we'll get the bedside cot and he/she can stay in there until going into a big bed.

With dd I moved her into her own room at about 4 months but this baby's room will be off dd's room so we will keep him/her in with us for longer so to limit the disruption!

PinkTulips · 07/09/2008 19:39

i would have used it tonnes put it that way.

as it was with dd i had the cot a foot away from the bed... but due to the sides i still had to get up and hoik her out and generally didn't bother putting her back so often she woke up when she smelled me come to bed and never went back in the cot.

with ds we were in a differant flat and he had to be down the end of the bed so i had to actually walk to get him when he cried. no joke when sleep deprived and awakened after 10 mins sleep! and again, he never got put back, whereas if i could have just slid them into the cot and lain with my land over to them i might have gotton a few more comfortable nights sleep!

oooggs · 07/09/2008 20:45

I can't find you on fb markstretch

dinkystinky · 07/09/2008 21:07

Congrats on your blue baby Oooggs - so exciting!

Markstretch and others - thanks for your concern. The bleeding stopped yesterday so am hoping it was just a one off. Will speak to the midwife about it on Tuesday though. Cant be that I had been overdoing it as had ridiculously quiet week last week (and v lazy day on Saturday).

The bedside cot looks great Markstretch - friends of ours have it and love it. We've got a stupidly low based bed (perfect for rolling out of bed when hugely pregnant but when not pregnant, just really good for lying in and feeling like the ceiling is a looooooooong way away) so the bedside cot wouldnt work for us sadly otherwise would get it like a shot.

dinkystinky · 07/09/2008 21:10

Herbgarden - must be the weather affecting toddlers. DS was up in the night too (normally dead to the world once we get him in his cot) and up crying at 5.30am (again unheard of!) Hope your DS sleeps well tonight so you can get a good nights rest to make up for last night...

swampster · 07/09/2008 23:04

Ooooooh! I have a bedside cot - it is FAN TAS TIC - got it for DS2 as it would be safer with four in the bed . He's still in it at 2 and a bit years. Sharing a room now with DS1 though and with the side half down for him to jump out of it and come and see us when he wakes up in the night. Have to turf him out soon...

swampster · 07/09/2008 23:05

I couldn't get the map link to work, tink. Might try again soon.

swampster · 07/09/2008 23:08

Anyone for tea?

MarkStretch · 08/09/2008 07:27

Ooogs I am E L-H.

Jacaranda · 08/09/2008 09:05

I want one of these but not sure DH will go for it

swampster · 08/09/2008 09:35

Those Amby Nests are supposed to be really good - but sooooo expensive for such a short while! What if your baby HATES it?

Go on, someone say they want to do a tea morning for Afghanaid:

Afghanaid Green Tea Morning

Could you host a green tea morning for Afghanaid?

All you have to do is invite five or so friends, colleagues, neighbours or relatives to your home, office or shed for a cuppa.

Afghanaid provides some green tea with cardamon and jasmine and some information on life in Afghanistan and you and your guests kick in a fiver. Afghanaid's projects get some money and you and your guests have a cheery brew and natter and learn about Afghanistan.

Afghanaid is aiming for 22 or 23 September and is trying to have a hundred tea parties across the UK.

To sign up to host a party or receive additional information please call 020 7065 0825 or email [email protected].

Jacaranda · 08/09/2008 11:09

Mmmmmm just gave in to my craving and had a halloumi roll for lunch mmmmmmmm!

laidbackinengland · 08/09/2008 11:25

Morning. Every time I come on this thread you lot are talking about food and it makes me hungry !

Glad the bleeding has stopped dinky - it's scary isn't it ?

Oooggs, a boy - hooray , that is 3 boys and a girl for you isn't it ?

MarkS/Jacaranda(always in my head as mcdreamy) I have an old style 2 wheeler Hauck infinity which is still going strong since I bought it 4 yrs ago for DS2. DS3 used it, as will this baby. They are pretty sturdy and robust.

Have had family here all weekend, then friends arriving tonight for a couple of days. Luckily they are low maintenance !

One week today until my holiday...then a fornight until my scan.

laidbackinengland · 08/09/2008 11:27

MarkS/Jacaranda, I have a 3 wheeler hauck - doh ! A two wheeler would be more like a bicycle !
