Morning all.

18 weeks today woohoo!

Had a silly night, DH and I stayed up to watch BB so went to bed about midnight, then were both awake at 5.30am so had a chat, then dd and dsd got up at 6am and DH got up to get them breakfast shortly after. I tried to have a lie in but they were so bloody noisy I was up at 7.30 anyway!

So much for my lie in!

Not much to do today, going to potter about the house and maybe go into the city later. Really want to attempt the lemon drizzle cake too.

I had been feeling lots of movement but for the last few days lo has gone very quiet with just a couple of squirms. Can find HB straight away with the doppler so am guessing he's having a growth spurt before he starts properly booting me!

rosieposey · 06/09/2008 10:15

Morning all - 16 weeks today! thats 4 whole months! lol now i will be hankering to be 20 weeks :-)

I find out the sex on Wednesday as im so utterly crap at surprises that i have specifically booked a gender scan with babybond ( they do them from 16 weeks onwards ) but ill go on record as saying that i think im having a girl ( for the fourth time ) i think its only because of the fast heartbeat and i was talking to the midwife last Monday and she reckoned her sons was roughly 120 bpm all the way through her pregnancy and that her daughters was like this one around 145 - 150 bpm so even though we both agreed it was a bit of an old wives tale was still good fun to speculate Either way ill be over the moon but will be SHOCKED if its a boy as after 16 years of girls that will be something else!

Off into London this afternoon for my dirty swanky weekend away with DP, cant wait! Lovely play, some Greek food and nice hotel ... ah bliss

Hope everyone else has got a nice weekend lined up and it doesnt rain!

Rachrox · 06/09/2008 11:07

Hi Ladies,
I'm 16+3, so getting there slowly! I've got my scan for the 30th and really undecided whether to find out the sex or not???? As i already have 2 dd and a ds it doesn't really matter, but i've been looking at things to buy bean and hardly any of it are neutral colours, so that may be my excuse to find out!!

I'm craving fabric conditioner.... is this normal?? I've never had cravings before but my dh is getting slightly worried that i may soon start drinking the stuff! I haven't as yet but i just need to smell it all the time and wash things just for the sake of it!

Well i hope everyone is feeling well and not letting the rain get them down.

TinkerBellesMum · 06/09/2008 15:31

Just seen we're 3/4 of the way through this thread already! We like to talk

Wanted to try something out I've just learnt:

Email me for a link to the February Mums map.

MarkStretch · 06/09/2008 17:16

Hi Tink, your link works!

I have just slept for another hr after DH told me to go and have a lie down!

I am so sleepy, it's like being at the beginning again!

TinkerBellesMum · 06/09/2008 17:37

Will it get everyone emailing me for a link though?

dinkystinky · 06/09/2008 18:25

Hello all - hope you're well and enjoying this autumnal weekend. Was so hoping for a nice September after a soggy August - guess its not to be. DS has started collecting conkers and already has enough to start a little forest off! Glad we're off on holiday to States on Friday - fingers crossed its warmer and drier there. DH has spent the day doing lions share of work looking after DS so have had a nice relaxing day, complete with lie in. Tomorrow is my turn to take main charge of DS....

Tink - link doesnt work from my home computer for some reason - will try it from work on Monday.

dinkystinky · 06/09/2008 18:27

Rachrox - its not unheard of to crave fabric conditioner. Friend of mine had a craving for coal (think its called a "pica") - she used to carry around a lump with her to smell!

PinkTulips · 06/09/2008 18:32

i got a link to the map ages ago but my crappy pc/crappy internet connection wouldn't let me put myself on it.

is there anyway you can do it from your end?

having a weird day. dp's friend didn't fuck off home last night, despite various less than subtle hints, til 4am so dp was up til then working (he's producing an album for the guy and every track is taking 3 hours longer than it needs to). kids didn't come in til 9am but dp was so shattered he took ages to drag himself out of bed so i was totally awake by the time he got up. and then every time i dozed off he came in to ask me something... 3 times til i got up cranky with a sore head! so much for my saturday lie in

have been falling asleep on the couch all afternoon... feel like i'm back in the first trimester i'm so exhausted.

2 of the kittens are going to their new home tomorrow dp has fallen in love with one of the others (he claims not to like cats but he's a sucker really) so we'll be keeping both of them and the mommy cat though

dinkystinky · 06/09/2008 19:34

Ooh, dont you just hate mates who cant take a not so subtle hint to go home (especially when you know you're going to be up at some ungodly hour with toddler and they'll be able to lie in until almost evening time...) - still we all have them though and their turn will come

Hope you're feeling better now PinkTulips and your headache has gone Markstretch. Got abit freaked out by some bleeding earlier - but it was dark blood when wiping after loo (sorry if TMI) and has stopped and have still been feeling the occasional squiggle from squiglet so have managed to convince myself to relax until see midwife on Tuesday and hear the heartbeat then.

MarkStretch · 06/09/2008 20:21

Sorry to hear that Dinky- dark blood is better isn't it because it's old. Weirdly enough, this is the time of the month I would have ahd my period if not pg and I had a tiny bit of spotting and lots of spots on my chin which is where I always get spots before my period. I guess our bodies still operate along the normal rhythms.

I just had a MN-er request to be my friend on Facebook. I was very confused at first but it's interesting to see what people look like

oooggs · 06/09/2008 20:23

I craved fabric softner with ds1

we are having a blue bean

MarkStretch · 06/09/2008 20:29

Oooh congrats oooggs! A little boy!

swampster · 06/09/2008 21:47

Congrats oooggs!

Someone asked me today how much longer I had to go. I dared him to guess - he had a wee baby a few months old so it wasn't like he was a novice or out of practice. He reckoned I had about six weeks to go ! Bet I've got the biggest bump of any 18-weeker (comes from being well lazy and not having any stomach muscles .

MS, will you be my FB friend? Seeing as how you already live in my computer.

winemakesmummyclever · 07/09/2008 09:21

Oooggs - congratulations on your blue bean!

Am off to a wedding this afternoon. Feel v fat in my dress and have had a self tan disaster, ending up with a stripey leg that I am going to have to try and remedy. Am at that awkward in-betweeny stage where regular clothes still fit and am too tight to buy a posh mat dress to wear just once. Would be much more comfy if I could turn up in my pj's

Am sure it will be a lovely do and am going to treat myself to a slurp of champagne and enjoy a night alone with dh in a posh hotel.

MarkStretch · 07/09/2008 09:26

Swampster I am now your FB friend!

What a cheeky man! Did you swing for him?!

I had a crap night again, went to bed at 10pm, got up fo a wee at midnight, DH came back from the pub at 1.30 and so I got up for a wee, then dd woke me at 3am because there was a spider in her room, she stayed awake until 4am when DH (who had fallen asleep on the sofa) got up and came to bed and I had to go for ANOTHER wee.

I could feel the baby really low down last night kicking away so he must have been right on my bladder! grrrrr.

Am taking dd to her first irish dancing lesson today and then I am going to attempt the lovely lemon cake mention on here earlier.

herbgarden · 07/09/2008 10:28

congrats Ooooggs on having another ds.....dinky stinky, hope your bleeding episode is ok now?

MS- sounds like you might need a snooze later on...Ds woke at 10.30 last night and then a nice early 6am so we brought him into bed with us (my lie in morning ) - he insisted on smacking me in the face every 2mins with his muzzy and shoving me off the pillow so after half hour I made dh get him up and take him for some breakfast....feel very second handthis morning. Irish dancing sounds energetic.

Tink - link doesn't work here either.

WMMC hope you enjoyed the wedding and managed more than a slurp of champagne At least you won't be the one nursing a sore head this morning !...

Off to meet my parents for lunch with ds (2) so am hoping he might sit vaguely still whilst I manage to eat something. Have packed books and stickers in the vague hope that he might occupy himself with these too...Struggled to find anything vaguely more smart than a pair of jeans to wear (not really a jeans type place)...I really need some more clothes!

TinkerBellesMum · 07/09/2008 14:28

If you can't get the invite to work (you have to make an account, search for your postcode and then click the "add to my maps" link" I used to get very confused over it when I did it often) then email me a postcode, doesn't have to be yours, just one a few streets away.

If you can't get the email invite to work (won't work if you use MSN or Yahoo) right click on it and click copy shortcut.

The radiographer said she thinks I'm having a girl (without looking) because Tink said so, she said children often just know and are usually right. Not going to have another scan for two weeks, so hopefully will find out then.

The last two scans I've been asked if I've had any bleeding, apparantly they can see some placenta (doing a cervical length scan). They haven't said I'm previa, which I guess not anyway as I've only bled once and that was at 13 weeks (6 weeks ago).

PinkTulips · 07/09/2008 15:24

that's interesting tink... both mine are convinced it's a girl for some reason and i'm starting to think they're right.

what's your email again and i'll email you from gmail and see does it work then, it wouldn't let me log in with my gmail account last time but maybe that's because you sent the link to my hotmail and i should have tried to make a new account or something?

congrats on another blue one ooogs.... i'd love to have a house full of boys

hope you're ok today dinky

TinkerBellesMum · 07/09/2008 15:44
