MKG · 04/08/2008 13:15

Hi everyone!

I am so excited. Today I get to pick up ds1 as he is back from vacation. I missed him so much and although I had a great time with ds2. I missed him like crazy.

I also think I'm going to tell my mom and my sister today as they will be together. Hopefully everything will go well (scared like I'm 16yo emoticon)

A nasty cold has hit the house last night so I'm suffering through that and of course there is nothing to be taken.

Playingthe9monthwait · 04/08/2008 13:39

OO MKG - hope telling your family goes ok!

Bet you must be really excited to get ds1 back!

Sorry to hear about your cold, it must be awful. Its somethign that I am dreading! i always get ill over winter (cold/flu/virus thing) and it will be awful if I can't take anything!

MKG · 04/08/2008 14:08

Yeah being pregnant in cold and flu season sucks.

I'm so tired today I can't believe it. I just this day to fly by.

Mandy73 · 04/08/2008 15:13

Hi everyone,

I hope you're all OK.
Rest & get well MKG.

OK, about me: 35 soon, finally self employed (in book publishing), working from home, after several years of re-training/trying to juggle freelance commissions with a depressing office job. With DH for 8 years, married for one, just bought our first house and moved to Oxfordshire. Can't wait to start a family. I know it's a cliché but there never really was a 'good time' until now and we were bricking it TTC for 11 cycles thinking we'd left it too late.

livismum · 04/08/2008 15:21

wow must be a 10 yr thing! I too have been with DH for 10yrs married for 2 1/2 DD will be 4 on March 13th so will prob have 2 with v close bdays! Oh well save on party costs!

I had really bad cold cough flu thing week before i had bfp and was popping various pills to relieve it oops! but as trying for ages didnt really think it actually might have happened that month!

Have worked for Next for 11yrs this year havin a baby boom at work 9 babies due by end of yr, my mgr is seriously going to kill me he he he

Feeling fairly good on and off, who ever said Haribo's help i agree! Thank goodness for grandparents bringing DD good supply!

livismum · 04/08/2008 15:31

Oh yeah am 27 (28 next month!) and living in sunny (sometimes) somerset!

MKG · 04/08/2008 15:33

About me, I just turned 29 and have been with dh for 12 years and celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in May. This is "oops" number 4, but would be our third child after a mc in January. Ds1 is going to be three on Wednesday and ds2 is 15 months this month. I used to be a Spanish teacher (pre-children) but now I work part time for Osh Kosh.

I just realized that come May I will have been pregnant for about 1/2 my marriage.

We are very excited about baby #3, nervous, but happy.

dinny · 04/08/2008 15:45

Hello, everyone, just back from Greece last night, amazing place we stayed in, this luxury all-inc resort place. Amazingly had two days' respite (almost) from sickness but then it came back and am feeling crap now.

Also, had such bad turbulence on plnae on way home (I am TERRIFIED of flying ) I made myself drink a glass of wine as thought was going to lose the plot. Nearly was sick drinking it but it did calm me - hppe I haven't done any damage

am constantly in sickbands, even sleep in them and am being sick about 5 times a day ish (NICE)!

haven't really changed much physically, except bigger boobs and slightly thickening waist line!

off on our travels again on friday, if I can summon the strength! x

SpookyMadMummy · 04/08/2008 15:48

Afternoon all!

About me:

I am 33 years old, am married for 11 years. Dh is a lorry driver and can be away from home at times although thankfully not at the moment. I have 2DD's aged 6 and 4. Dd1 is on the Autistic Spectrum. dd2 starts school full time in September.

I work, I am self employed as a Diet Counsellor (!) (may help next year) and I am taking a course in NeuroLinguistic Programming, life coaching and hypnotherapy this year.

This is a planned Dc3 so I am quite looking forward to his/her arrival!

dinny · 04/08/2008 15:52

Ooh, forgot to do my resume bit:

I am 35, have a dd (6) and ds (3) and this is a sort-of-planned number three, am still in denial though!

I work part-time in London, live in Surrey and love running, yoga, reading and going out with friends (all that on hold atm, even reading makes me feel sick!)

SlightlyDoolally · 04/08/2008 16:16

Hi all

Think this is the thread for me: my due date is provisionally 26th March, but my GP couldn't calculate it very accurately as I've just had a mirena coil removed and we conceived before having a period. So I might actually be April - don't know yet.

Just wanted to say hi to everyone (in case I am in the right thread) and say what a fab site this is. I'm a total novice at this- this will be our first baby and none of our friends who live nearby have babies, so I have no frame of reference as to what to expect. Also we haven't told anyone else I'm pregnant yet, because we want to wait until the 12 week all clear.

To be honest, I can't believe I'm pregnant so fast. Have had loads of problems with endometriosis in the past, and have had a mirena coil for the last 4 years. Never thought we would conceive, let alone in the first month of trying!!!! V excited (and also feeing rubbish, although I see from other postings that this is quite normal).

Anyway, looking forward to swapping symptoms with you all over the next few months

MKG · 04/08/2008 16:16

Question from the dumb American. What's a lorry?

SpookyMadMummy · 04/08/2008 16:34

MKG - you would call them trucks

SpookyMadMummy · 04/08/2008 16:36

Or maybe big rigs??

MKG · 04/08/2008 16:38

OK- That is a tough life. My friend's dad was a trucker and said he was alway gone, payed well, but always away.

lollipopz · 04/08/2008 17:08

chiplet · 04/08/2008 19:27

Hello, can I join too?
Am 39, been with dh 18 years, married for 15, spent 7 years trying to conceive - 4 ICSI and one frozen embryo cycle to no avail. Took a break to buy a house this year and find myself 6.5 weeks pg naturally. I think my due date is 26th March. It's a bit of a shock and I'm not quite sure whether I'm coming or going.
Am mostly scared that this won't last after wanting it for so long, and having read a lot of the posts am also a bit worried as I don't seem to be having any symptoms and I'm not sure if that's normal. I have had sore breasts and some cramping and some very mild nausea but it's all mostly gone now and everyone keeps telling me how well I look. Can that be right? The last week and a half since the BFP have been the longest of my life.
Some reassurance desparately needed!

Ally90 · 04/08/2008 20:37

New thread already?!

I have huge tender boobs (tmi) have to keep removing bra at every opportunity.

And all day nausea (like last time...) seems to have started 2 weeks earlier, but I'm learning to stave it off with regular snacks (ie when dd has a snack I join her) digestive biscuits help a great deal. And a huge mug of tea in the morning and a mug of ovaltine...then it takes me an hour to feel human again

No tiredness.

Sorry to see some have left

Info on me...sahm (31) of 2.4mth old dd, dh and I have been together 5 years, married 3 years. Both dd and db2b planned, dh would have had another db straight after dd but I refused on the grounds my stitches needed to heal first. And I also don't think I could have coped with two toddlers or a toddler and a baby at once!

Got my first appt with midwife 13th Aug.

March seems a loooooooonnnngggg way away!

Take care all x

Well ladies..you have been busy haven't you?! I like the new thread!

I must apologise for how rubbish I have been recently...just not had time to get online!! I called the doctors today to chase the midwife as I had not heard anything yet! They said they would be in touch after my scan...but then I got a call from the midwife this afternoon and she is coming tomorrow at 3!! I am soo excited no!!

It seems everyone s sharing, so here is a bit about me:

I just turned 22 on Friday, am living in Manchester with DP 1 cat and 1 kitten!! I work full time for a pallet company and DP works full time for an insurance company. I am moving house on the 23rd of this month so everything is all in a mess at the moment!!

Hope everyone is well...I will try to be better from now on!!

auntyspan · 04/08/2008 21:33

Evening ladies!

Sorry for silence, been having a busy one. Potty training DD at the moment so I am sick to DEATH of wee! Spent the majority of the weekend running up and down the stairs emptying the darn potty!

I have my scan tomorrow - just an early one due to my earlier bleeds. I'm a little apprehensive as my symptoms haven't been so bad over the past few days so wish me luck.

As for me - I'm 34 and live in Cheshire with DH and DD (2.5) I have been together with DH for nearly 9 years and married for 2 months I work in advertising....

I'll post tomorrow when I get back

OP posts:
lollipopz · 05/08/2008 09:31

Good luck at your scan auntie how all is well!
I haven't got a date for a scan yet. Not even seen a doc yet but going on thurs so hopefully get a scan date then! Can't believe I am 8 weeks and not even seen a doc yet! Can tell i've done this before! lol Lx

MavisGrind · 05/08/2008 11:11

Hi all - just sticking my head up from the packing and cleaning (Damn flat inspection) to say hello. Welcome all the new March 09'ers!

Lollipopz - When I'm not in Oz, I'm in Fife so not that far from you. I am English though so perhaps I don't count

Good luck to those with scans coming up - I should get to see a doc by the middle of August so I hope the MW's can sort me out a scan quickly!

I've also been with DH for 10 years - there's a bit of a theme to this thread (apart from all being due in March that is).

Off for some more crips, purely medicinal you understand!

ceedub · 05/08/2008 11:39

hi to all the new members of our rapidly-expanding group - it's growing faster than my tummy!

Speaking of which, is anyone else suffering from really bad bloating? I'm finding it really painful and it's keeping me awake at night. Any tips on how to bring it under control, and is it something which stops at the end of the 1st trimester (oh, please, I hope so...)

grinningbee · 05/08/2008 11:49

I'm going to break the been with dh for 10 years theme

Let's see, I'll be 38 in November, been with dh since Oct 05, married in April 06. No dc's but two insane cats. Had a crappy year last year when dh had cancer and we had the mmc, but onwards and upwards! We're moving at the end of this month temporarily to a mobile home but will need to move again before bean arrives as you can't have children there. Yep, we sorted this out just before the bfp!!! We've been trying for a bean for about 15 months.

I do markets and craft fairs, and make candles for my day to day "job". Should be interesting next year!
