Hi danclare its never too late at least youve found us now. Feel free to add yourself to our list on the previous page.
Just when I thought I was done I now need arnica and lactulose. x

biglips · 04/08/2008 12:06

welcome Danclare

what dose is everyone having for the Arnica??

Also the lactulose - i got mine last time from the hospital (plus my iron tabs too as lost abit of blood due to emergency c-section).

blimey · 04/08/2008 12:12

arnica - 200c is dose for childbirth

mamamufin · 04/08/2008 12:13

Not sure what dose to get either biglips

Forgot I had the iron tabs too I think they made me constipated. However, psychologically I could not open my bowels for over a week. I did not want to pop my stitches. And when I finally did open them gosh did it hurt . Sorry tmi. First timers at least you will be prepared!

Anyone know when we can start the raspberry leaf tea?

mamamufin · 04/08/2008 12:15

Thanks blimey

biglips · 04/08/2008 12:17

mama - i think its 2 weeks before due date - re raspberry tea leaf. Where can i get the arnica off the high st please?

did you have a natural birth last time? as i had an emergency c-section but my bowels were fine or unless you was holding it in that long you ended up constipated.

Atm my wriggly baby is sort of breech and back to back as i noticed it in my notes when i went for a scan last week so thats another thing on my mind now but still early days though but im doing stuff to shift this baby around.

biglips · 04/08/2008 12:17

oh yes thanks blimey

potxola · 04/08/2008 12:34

Sassafrass I have just talked to 3 homeopaths from 3 Pharmacies and they have all given me the same advice.
We need to buy arnica 200c and the morning of the C-section take 1 or 2 tablets or pillules (1 or 2 are classed as a dose), they disolve on the tonge. (We can't eat or drink anything other than water 20 min. before or after.
After the C-section we need 2 take 1 or 2 tablets 3 times a day for as long as we feel sore.
I have just bought it from the pharmacy web I gave you yesterday £5.20 includind P&P and you can pay with paypal.

potxola · 04/08/2008 12:37

Danclare WELCOME

mamamufin · 04/08/2008 12:43

What about a vaginal delivery? Do you know if its the same arnica regime?
Thanks biglips I did have a natural birth last time and I think I was holding it in. TMI. Get bouncing on the ball!

biglips · 04/08/2008 12:45

yes i must buy a ball tmrw.

biglips - apparently the £4.99 Argos ones don't have an anti-burst thingy so our NCT tutor said it's best to splash out on the more expensive one (Argos do a Reebok gym ball for £8.99 for the 65cm size).

I don't know how likely they are to burst but suddenly landing on the floor with a loud bang doesn't sound good with a large pregnant belly!

carrieon · 04/08/2008 14:16

Crikey, I go away for one weekend and we have another baby born! Congrats Jenbot, can't wait to hear the story!

Last night I spoke to my friend who had a baby last sunday and heard the whole birth story. It got me sooooo excited about birth and having a newborn again!

Just skim-read the last few pages. I've said it before and I'll say it again, its funny how we're all different in what we consider essentials! Someone was saying they had a travel-cot and carbooted it after one use. For us the travel-cot is an absolute must have. This weekend we used it for two nights at the in-laws, and took it to the bbq we went to on saturday so dd could have a nap for a couple of hours (and we could sit in the garden with our feet up ) and with having two kids within 18 months, we have to get another one before going away at Christmas coz dd isn't ready for a big bed yet. So if anyone wants to shift one in our direction we'd be very very grateful!

I think my bump hasn't grown much lately. I was looking massive at 24 weeks, but now at 32 I think I look relatively small...its occured to me that I could have a small girl again! I am wondering if its a boy though. Anyone else who doesn't know the sex got an inkling either way?

mumiyumi · 04/08/2008 14:27

Congrats jenbot a beautiful daughter...She sounds like a tough cookie!!

I was given Lactulose in hospital but i might still take some in of my own!

Lavender oil or bubble bath, lovely and relaxing in a bath for a few wks after the birth especially if you've had stitches...aids healing process, got mine already stocked up. Also maternity towels, did anyone find the "official" one a bit hard, i used Kotex huge ones which were much softer especially with stitches.

biglips · 04/08/2008 15:09

thanks Potxola - re arnica tabs...ill will order some now.

Thanks notcitrus - i will get the £8.99 one as i dont fancy rolling around the floor and not able to get up!!

well atm im trying to drink my cuppa whilst this baby is "on the go!" again . its hitting my bladder and and also my fanjo at the same time..

notcitrus · 04/08/2008 15:21

carrieon - what's the difference between a travel cot and a moses basket? Is a travel cot bigger?

I think I'll stick to a pack of prunes or dried apricots as I've been prescribed Lactulose before and it has sometimes produced, erm, explosive effects...

Squirmy is doing his best earthquake impression today every time I eat anything. I don't know if it's BH contractions but I get a kind of rippling across the top of my bump and then orgasm-style vaginal rippling, usually along with Squirmy kick-boxing - he's probably as disconcerted as I am! Not painful, just seriously wierd and distracting.

Finally sent off a half-arsed version of the report I had to do for work - I ought to tweak it a bit but I just don't care...

DebitheScot · 04/08/2008 15:33

notcitrus a moses basket will only last a few weeks or maybe months if you have a small baby. And you can only use it for sleeping in. A travel cot will be able to be used until your baby is about 2 and half probably. Ds still sleeps in 1 at the childminders and like carrieon we couldn't have done without it as we have used ours a lot every time we go away. He is very almost too big for it but still sleeps in it ok as he tends not to lie straight anyway. Also some people use a travel cot as a playpen. We've never done that but a friend did say she used one a lot to put her baby in for a few mins while she did things like go to the loo to stop her toddler getting at the baby.

DebitheScot · 04/08/2008 15:39

Congrats jenbot and well done. Must be horrid having to leave her all night. Hope she carries on doing well.

My oioi bag came on Saturday (about 3 days after ordering it from babyzoop.com). It is that sort of wipe clean plasticy material but looks good and I think I'm happy with it. It's a good size too.

I found a purse in the street on Friday and handed into police. About half an hour ago a lady came to the door with a big bunch of flowers for me to say thank you for handing it in. Thought that was really nice of her.

lollipopmother · 04/08/2008 15:43
