Right, I have finally found time to catch up now we're on a new thread !

Dizzy - You seem to be coping so well, must be so hard and bloody uncomfortable staying at the hospice. Thinking of you and hoping babadixie stays put for the time being.

TS - Anymore joy with the reflexology ? I'm thinking I might give it a go.

CaptainCaveman - Glad all was well at the hospital, always the way. I've ended up there when pregnant with both DD's for lack of movement and as soon as I get on the trace machine they start going mad

Buckets - Hope you managed to get back to sleep

IlanaK - Huge Congratulations on the birth of Saul. Hope he is getting stronger and stronger each day

Well I'm off to the midwife today, she couldn't be sure of baby's position last time and said if she was still unsure today she'd send me for a scan. Wont go into detail in case you all think I'm some sort of freak but my late FIL 'told' me the baby is coming tomorrow and will be a boy

pregnancy1 · 24/07/2008 08:30

Morning everyone,
Went to our last NCT last night and the couple that had their baby at 35 weeks brought the baby in. Cue a couple of us rocking in the corner as we realised this was getting a bit real. Then another woman has a show/waters broke during the break. Cue tears all round as it slowly dawed on all the women that we were actually going to have a baby/go through labour.....Think all the men were slightly bewildered by all the girls' reactions - how can they be only just realising they are having babies?
I then couldn't sleep last night as I kept thinking about having a baby. Told DH on the way to work who kindly pointed out that he was pretty confident that my dream would come true! Made me laugh anyway...
Anyway, hope everyone has a fab day, xx

Buckets · 24/07/2008 08:39

Hiya, feeling fine now thanks. My nocturnal researches show my buttock-ache (or buttercake as DH calls it) to be Pelvic Girdle Pain and that I really should have gone to see the Physio . It feels very different to the SPD pain as it's between 2 joints rather than the joints themselves. Think it's the same pain I had fairly constantly for the last 2wks of DD's pregnancy so it could be worse.
Trying to decide if I can be bothered to get me and the kids dressed to reach the activity farm for opening time at 10am. Will be far too busy if I leave it any later. Really fancy a nice cool bath & hairwash after all the tossing and turning last night though.

CaptainCaveman · 24/07/2008 08:47

Kettles back on if anyone wants another brew? I'm making tea....

fogleg I would love to hear more about what your late FIL said - always intrigues me!!

pg1 this ain't no thread for people having babies! . It is primarily a sex/porn thread with some cooking and funny photos thrown in. Makes it more real though when those you are pg with start popping them out doesn't it? Reapeat the mantra I will be fine ad infinitum, until baby arrives

sazz rough night here too. Couldn't get to sleep due to rib pain/general uncomfortableness, then when I finally fell asleep I kept waking up. Then ds got in our bed around 3am and started telling me about his Spongebob Squarepants dream....eventually got back to sleep around 5 then got up at 7.

Odd question time - when you lie down flat(ish) does anyone else get the sensation on the left side of your chest/throat that your windpipe is being squashed and it makes it hard to breathe? I sometimes get this when sitting up too but worse when I lie down. Thought I'd mention it to the cons today anyhow.

Oh, and I wrote my birth plan!! Yay. Just gotta pack some clothes in my bag and we're all set.

CaptainCaveman · 24/07/2008 08:50

buckets tough call. It will be a hot and sweaty day so do you:
a) just go out and get more hot and sweaty then bathe later OR
b) Get bathed and gubbins now, only to go out and get more hot and sweaty and need to do the same later?
Guess it depends on how bad you smell (and which way the wind is blowing )

Wonder if ALBS had had her baby yet????

CaptainCaveman · 24/07/2008 09:06

One more thing - given that my cons has changed my official due date back to 14th Aug - I am officially 37 weeks pg today! Yippee!!!

Buckets · 24/07/2008 09:09

Have decided to do a few errands instead of farm, then back for bath and lunch, can't be arsed with having fun (and DD will just winge for snacks and drinks in the teashop).

I too get the crushed windpipe feeling on my back sometimes, maybe it's the baby affecting the diaphragm so you have to breathe shallowly. Another pillow under my head helps.

PetitFilou1 · 24/07/2008 09:14

dizzy Hope you get some rest. Its great that you are helping your dad out with the emails. My dad found that really hard - lots of his wife's friends rang up wanting to 'talk through' what was going on. They didn't really take into consideration that he was physically and emotionally exhausted and didn't have 40 minutes to spend on the phone to them before the next four people rang up. He started doing emails instead and not always answering the phone but it was still hard work for him.

Bad mother alert - I have put ds into nursery this morning even though he has a temperature. Feel really bad now. But I am going to fetch him after lunch and I guess they will phone me if he needs fetching before that. I just wanted some peace to get some jobs done, hope the poor thing is ok

poppysocks · 24/07/2008 09:26

Dizzy - Glad you're holding up. Hope your Mum had a confortable night and babydixie carries on behaving for you.

I was wondering about ALBS too. The ball has started rolling now hasn't it. Question is, when will our first spontaneous birth happen? Seems that there are a few in the offing....

Just turned on the TV and on GMTV they seem to be procrastinating about the state of their feet and the disaster that is cracked heels. Is it just me, being 8.5 months pg and having not really seen my feet since last winter or in general is this jsut something that women with nothing more important to be concerned about to get worked up about? The whole 'cracked heels' thing had never even occured to me until that advert appeared. Or am I just a slattern?

Just checking in. DS1 has been up all night unwell, so have seen every hour with him until 5am. Can't sleep though so happy to be awake now

One week today until my section - hurray! Cannot wait.

Hope you all have a good day enjoying the sunshine, have decided not to venture out but rather get the BBQ up and running mid-afternoon and spend day in garden. Here's hoping for some catch up sleep and an easyish day.....

love to all x

FoghornLeghorn · 24/07/2008 09:29

fingers crossed for you ALBS, you may even have a babe in your arms by now ...

Well my reflexology definitely hasn't worked... i am feeling really really miserable, heavy dragging pains, sick as a dog but nada nothing... know that i shouldn't really be complaining with dd situation...

Hope everyone has a good day, i'm in the office but hoping that my dh and his partner will let me finish today!!!

poppysocks · 24/07/2008 09:53

So sorry to hear about your Mum, Dizzy . Pleased it was peaceful and hope you manage at least a little rest in the coming days.

AnnVan · 24/07/2008 09:59

Morning all! look who is actually up and about despite yet another sleepless night! Actually the only reason I'm up is because I have a mw appointment in 25 mins. Im still not dressed Oh well if I'm late it's her fault for insisting on making 10.20 appointments when I have insomnia

DD You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. You've been so strong through everything you've been going through!

MrsMagooo · 24/07/2008 10:10

Morning everyone - anyone still sat in their PJ's or just me

I've gone completely off tea now - hoping that's a positive sign that Little Man is not far off making his entrance as I only ever drink tea (& copious amounts of it too) when PG!!

CC Congrats on reaching term

Sazzles Sorry you had such a crap night

Poppy I have to say I never pay attention to my feet - pregnant or not

Dizzy So sorry to hear your news my love, sending love, thoughts, prayers & very {{{{{{gentle hugs}}}} your way - you & your family are in my thoughts

Xx

CaptainCaveman · 24/07/2008 10:21

annvan hope you are now dressed if you are seeing the mw in 5 mins!!

I am half dressed - have got shorts and bra on. Just waiting for deodrant to dry a little before I shove my t shirt on . My hair is another story altogether.....

dizzy even though we knew your mum was very poorly, it doesn't make her loss any easier for you to cope with. Praying for you and your family, for now and for the days, weeks and months ahead. I truly believe your mum is at home with Our Lord, proudly telling everyone how FAB her daughter is . You really did her proud you know - I hope in the months to come you can look back at these posts (especially your own) and KNOW that you did everything you possibly could for her. (((((dizzy)))))

Right, better go sort out my mop head before I visit my friend for coffee.

come on aLBS, show us the bubba!!!!!

pertelote · 24/07/2008 10:29

So sorry Dizzy - thinking of you and your family.

bigboydiditandranaway · 24/07/2008 10:31

Dizzy sorry to hear your sad news(((hugs)))).

sarah hope you will feel better soon, haven't been on for a while so don't know how long you've been feeling like this. Is it tiredness on pre labour do you think?

How is everyone managing to keep cool, have your dh/dp's blown up the paddling pools yet, mine hasn't, but think we'll get it out on sat if it's still baking hot!

I feel in so much suspense not knowing when our baby will arrive, sister visiting this w/end so she wants baby to be born then so she can see him/her, no pressure there then And don't know what whether the baby is a girl/boy, any way of predicting/or all old wives tales!!

VintageGardenia · 24/07/2008 10:32

dear dizzy I am so sorry that you have lost your mother. It seems especially poignant with your own little one on the way. How lovely that she was once waiting for you in the way that you are waiting for your child now. And how proud she must have been of you. It sounds as if you must have been an absolute rock for her. And she saw your girls last week, and she left you peacefully. But none of that can really make up for the hole someone leaves behind them - what can you say really, on an internet forum? I'm thinking of you and your family. I hope your father will be ok. Best love to you.

albs I never got on yesterday to wish you luck, but I was thinking of you, and this morning. I hope everything goes as planned and you, your DH and DD will be happily welcoming your new arrival at some stage today.

Everyone else - good luck with swellings, achey bits, lack of sleep. CC congratulations on being full term! No matter now if Jerry puts in a surprise appearance! PF no email from you, can you post an email address & we'll go in reverse?
