hi all, i have put on loads of weight, OH says i look as big as i was full term with my second baby. i am huge but i dont think full term size quite yet but getting there.
i have almost everything for the twins now except the bigger car. i have put my car on e-bay classified but things just are not selling. might have to trade it in afterall.
it is bucketing it down today the poor chickens are looking depressed as i dont let them into the big run when its raining as they are stupid enough to stand out and get wet. they have a big covered run anyway but they do like to scrabble around in the mud.
i looked at getting an extra private scan, it was £168 for 30mins (the nhs one is 10mins) we couldnt get in until after the NHS one so we are going to see how good it is and then possibly have the extra one. i am lucky in a way that i will be having one every 4 weeks from 20 weeks but twins are much higher risk. i am terrified we will loose one on the way.

missjackson · 17/08/2008 13:33

Hi everyone. I'm 18 weeks today, not far behind you Tink. Am at work, but have my lovely friend here too who is exactly 10 weeks ahead of me, so all we talk about is pregnancy and babies. Only got 3 hours sleep last night as was overnighting in a hotel which was also hosting a wedding reception -- lots of drunk people stumbling past my door. Am just dreaming about my bed... hope everyone else is having a nice Sunday x

tinkispregnantwithpickle · 17/08/2008 16:56

rrrayray · 18/08/2008 09:40

Morning.

We finally had curtains last night, and i could have slept through until tonight, i'm sure of that!

Miserable weather, but all the talk of scans is exciting. Forever until my next one (23rd Sept) but i'm sure it'll come around quicker than i expect!!

x

tinkispregnantwithpickle · 18/08/2008 12:36

i am sure it will go quick rray
my 20wk one is a wk fri

feedmenow · 18/08/2008 13:31

Tink, you've booked that well in advance haven't you? Did you need to, or where you just being super-efficient?

LenniEd · 18/08/2008 14:56

I'm thinking about having one of those 3D scans this time too - didn't last time since had ante-natal depression and any kind of baby related stuff really got me down, but this time have been fine and think a 3D scan would be a nice experience for both of us.

wanted to have something else to look forward to.
portsmouth seem to be the cheapest where we are getting ours done.

Upwind · 18/08/2008 15:50

of those who get more than one scan

Chocsolot · 18/08/2008 18:11

afternoon all,

Upwind, still gutted you don't get more than one scan i think it is very mean of your area.

we had our heart scan today. The baby has all the major bits of the heart and they all seem to be in the right place and working correctly which is great. They need me to go back in 3 weeks because they can not be sure that there ar enot any holes between the main chambers but they said not to worry because they have ruled out all major issues today and for them not to be sure at this point would mean any holes would be very small, so we are really very releived. It had a heart rate of exactly 140bpm aswell. It looked well too, it wasa lot calmer than last time but its mouth was going ten to the doen

i am really excited now, i can't wait until the 19th Sept when i get to go for my full scan

poorbuthappy · 18/08/2008 18:48

evening all...hope everyone's well!

I'm posting from sunny Italy - 30 degrees every day for the next week! Only problem is that family have just cracked open the wine, and I am sat here wanting to help them drink it!!!

Fortnightly scans continue, consultant very happy last week, growing well, good blood flow. Also says 70/30 on girls...have to wait for scan next week to confirm.

Glad all are well...Mel2005, once again I bow down to your superior shopping skills, etc, I haven't bought a thing yet...

tinkispregnantwithpickle · 18/08/2008 19:41

it is sad that you dont get more than one scan upwind
gr8 news on heart scan choco
good news poorbh on your scan too enjoy the heat and sun in italy

Upwind · 18/08/2008 19:48

Don't be sad for me there are worse things! will hear the heartbeat at appointment tomorrow hopefully, and that will be reassurance enough.

poorbuthappy, chocsalot
Great that your scans have gone well!

Ginni · 18/08/2008 21:57

Hi everyone, i've not posted here for a long time. Has anyone else got a doppler? I just received mine today, Angelsounds, from Amazon, about £25. Just wanted to recommend it for those who want ongoing reassurance by being able to hear the heartbeat whenever you want.

chefswife · 19/08/2008 07:01

no doppler here. don't think i'm going to get one. with all the movement going on in my tummy, i don't think need one. she's been going crazy the last couple of days. really interesting.

rrrayray · 19/08/2008 09:13

Ginni.... how funny reading your post today, i'm eagerly awaiting the post as i too have ordered one. I think it maybe the same brand as yours... its pink anyway! haha! It works? Yay!!!! I was confident of getting a good sound, as at midwife appointment she got it as soon as touching my belly without moving! How exciting to be able to hear little one! Think OH will be tickled pink too!!!

Seeing a friend i havent seen in a while today, so going to wait for the post to hopefully get it before i go and let her listen to little one too!!! yay!

upwind- poor you with only one scan!

morning

yes i have the pink angel sounds one it is fantastic use it with the gel. sound is so clear and can pick up bean in 5 mins.
we listen to bean once a week is very reasurring.
received all my vertbaudet maternity sale items yesterday all great

rrrayray · 19/08/2008 17:20

Ah, glad it works. i waited for the post this morning, and the postman didnt seem to come. So i gave up as had to be somewhere. got home to one of those little red cards, timed 5 mins after i left- How Annoying!

Am going to have to try this vertbaudet stuff everyone is talking about. As i'm having no luck size wise.

Has anyone else ordered something from Isabelle Oliver only for it to come up MASSIVE? I ordered easy leggings in a 1 (size 6-8) i'm ususally pre pregnancy a 6, and was always told you should order in your usual size. But then were MASSIVE, esp in the Bum reigion...... i guess they are assuming ones bums grows as much as ones bump? I have no bump (well a slight roundness) and Bum hasn't Changed. Grrrr...

Any helpful hints size wise for anything further i purchase? (i could do without sending everything back like i did with the IO stuff)

tinkisnearlyhalfway · 19/08/2008 17:54

why does that always happen with post it is annoying isnt it
my vertbaudet sale bits are fantastic.
i am tiny and a size ten all the bits i ordered are size 10-12 the tops are a bit baggy but fine as next size down would have been too small

rrrayray · 19/08/2008 19:53

Thanks. i'll be checking them out!!!

LenniEd · 19/08/2008 20:50

Hope everyone ok - so many posts as usual! All ok here, just waiting for the next midwife appt, still 2 wks away tho, feels like ages since the last one. Baby active tho so know everything ok.

No help on small maternity clothes I'm afraid. I'm a 14-16 so prob couldn't get one leg in a size 6 . The sizes are all so variable between breands, and so many only design things for the last few months. I have given up on maternity for now and am sticking to my stretchiest, longest tops and dragging out a few maternity bits for anywhere I need to be especially presentable. Halfway through more or less now so don't want to spend a lot on new clothes esp when I went overboard in first pg, and some of those were hardly worn. Those were the days when I had my own income though...

fourlittlefeet · 19/08/2008 21:25

Fully with you there Lenni, both on the 14-16 and the days of my own salary....

I went to see the consultant today about the risk of pre eclampsia re-occuring. It was actually very cathartic as he explained exactly why I had to have the section last time and why it wasn't because of the PE but because of foetal distress. He went through all of the notes and explained exactly what happened. Really kind of him. I now have an extra bit to my scan where they doppler the placenta to check my chances of PE this time round. All a bit scary!

Off on hols on Saturday, can't wait.
