MsSparkle · 22/07/2008 12:52

hmm, i suspect the aerobics instructor will be one of those women who go straight back into their size 6/8 jeans as soon as the baby is born

Chocsolot · 22/07/2008 12:54

Bless her!

poorbuthappy · 22/07/2008 12:59

Morning ladies!

Miss Hairspray - if you don't know by now how its coming out then there is no hope for you!

Looking really preggies now at 15+4 (times 2!!) and I'm feeling movement too...dd keeps putting her ear to my tummy saying she can hear the heartbeats!
I just agree with her!!!

MEL2005 can you remind me what type of twins you are having? I am still undecided at the moment (just realised exactly how stupid that sounds!!!). 3 scans in total, 2 agree saying 1 placenta, 1 says 2 placentas. I've got to go again next week for another scan so my consultant can make a decision once and for all!
Also what buggy have you bought? I had a look at the nipper on Sat and it felt fabulous...

Glad everyone's ok!

EachPeachPearMum · 22/07/2008 13:23

Good grief! Don't know how I'm going to keep up with these threads!

I have had movements already... mainly because I am sleeping on my bump quite a lot- not to be recommended though- woke up in agony the other night!

Anyone else seriously exhausted?
I am going to bed each evening as soon as dd is in bed... ie 7.30. I get up at 7am ... just finding it so hard atm.

Chocsolot · 22/07/2008 14:32

Hi EachPeachPearMum I am exhausted too, I got really excited a couple of weeks ago because I was managing to stay up until about 9.30-10pm and still function at work the next day, but in the last week I have gone backwards and have gone back to going to bed for a nap when i get in or failing sadly at 8!

Everyone said it would get better at 12-14 weeks and now I am past that they keep telling me I won't feel full of energy until abotu 22 weeks so i really don't know

MrsMagpie · 22/07/2008 14:44

EPPM and chocsalot I'm in my 16th week and it's only just started to get better. I can now make it to about 10 before the exhaustion starts to come on. I found it helps to force yourself to go out at the weekend. Just to see friends etc. It makes a big change from being a hermit!

Everyone talks about Morning sickness but I was ok with that. The fatigue was something else. I blamed Jet lag because it feels so similar but after week three I thought i best check it out!

fymandbean · 22/07/2008 14:47

look extremely pregnant and am only 13 weeks! people keep asking if i have my date wrong or am expecting twins..... (I don't and I'm not). I look more pregnant than my friend did at 7 1/2 months

I can feel the baby moving, have done for about a week - but honestly I wouldn't have known if I didn't have one already (I was 19 weeks when I first felt DS move, then realised I had been feeling the movement for some time!!)

mel2005 · 22/07/2008 16:37

poorbuthappy they said mine were dichorionic with a floppy membrane seen, so i think i have two placentas and two sacs.
i bought the montain buggy and twin carrycot. it cost me £90 for the buggy and £60 for the newest version twin carrycot. both e-bay bargains. the carrycot is as new perfect condition. the MB is used but it is the new version, i thought i might have to buy a set of new covers but the buggy came yesterday and it needed a small bit of stitching on the hood which took 5 mins and a couple of clips which will cost pennies. i am really chuffed it only cost £150 for the buggy and carrycot.
i dont have a scan for another 4 weeks and i have my midwife tomorrow.
i think all that talk about bad backs brought it on, i have had sciatica again. yesterday i went to get up and i couldnt move. its better today, just a bit sore.

stripeywoollenhat · 22/07/2008 16:57

hi all - definitely the titular heffalump, feel that i am going to have to come clean to all and sundry at work shortly, before they are forced to ask....

i am 15 weeks today and am curious about movement - occasionally i feel this very slight sort of shivering right inside my lower abdomen and i'm wondering if this could be titch or if it's just the effect of overcrowding on my intestines? this is my first, so i'm not expecting to feel anything for a few more weeks - any opinions? what does the movement feel like early on?

fymandbean · 22/07/2008 17:02

I was 19 weeks before I felt my 1st baby moving then realised it had been going on for some time .

At the moment I'm feeling a light pulsing (like a pulse in your arm or something) which is kicking and some 'swimmy' movements - but they are hard to distinguish from gas!

stripeywoollenhat · 22/07/2008 17:13

i think i have the light pulsing thing occasionally. wow.

thank you

tinkisagracefulshamu · 22/07/2008 17:37

with first i would describe as butterflies flying around in there this time feels more like the pulsing and swimming

missjackson · 22/07/2008 18:48

mrsMagpie, reminds me of one of my 'curvy' non-pregnant friends who got offered a load of maternity off-casts from one of her 'friends'!

mel2005 · 22/07/2008 18:51

poor, i just had a look at the nippers on e-bay, they are a great price new and they only weight 9kg!!! thats great. there are some good reviews for them on here. i am not sure if you can get a carrycot and it is 77cm wide (mb is 74cm but weighs a wopping 18kg). i dont have a problem lifting the MB in the car but the nipper would be alot easier.
i tried the MB with the twin carrycot today, it was quite exciting thinking that we will have two little babies in it around christmas time. i will put a photo on here if i can manage to do it.

rrrayray · 22/07/2008 18:57

Ah, lovely to have a new thread, the old one was Very long indeed!

Finally D-day with the scan tomorrow.... Be interested to see if my DD moves. Although i'm not going to tell the sonographer my dates and see what he comes up with! Would be delighted to be a few weeks further gone or something ( i've always had irregular periods, so my dates are massively accurate at the moment!)

Hope everyone is well & not too grumbly in the heat.

My best friend is in the early labour stages after being induced and NOT enjoying being hauled up in Hospitial while they fart around as to whether to break her waters or not. Thank goodness we will all be giving birth when its NICE to be snuggled up inside, not Scorching outside (Tomorrow, undoubtely when she will eventually have the baby is suposed to be approaching 30c near us!!!!)

ps, i can't WAIIIIIIIIT to spill the beans that i'm pregnant tomorrow, only you mums net people, both sets of parents and one best friends for me and one for OH know!!! Eeeeeeeeek!!!

xx

rrrayray · 22/07/2008 18:59

ps, for all of you who said you feel bloated, etc, i Too am feeling VERY bloated and rather Windy too one thing that DOES seem to do the trick is those Activia youghurts, i know there a bit more exp than the supermarket own, but for me at least, they do seem to do the trick. Two a Day if you can, and i HATE youghurts, so i just Wolf them down in Massive spoons!!!

HeathersMummy · 22/07/2008 19:00

Great title for the new thread

I'm 17 weeks tomorrow and despite the fact that I was already a larger lady (size 20 ), I'm looking quite pregnant! Last time I didn't need maternity clothes until about 20 weeks, but I'm well into them already.

Pretty sure I've been feeling movements for the last 2 weeks too .

When is this tiredness going to go away though! Was ok last time, but it seems much harder when you've got a 3 year old to chase around after.

mel2005 · 22/07/2008 19:39

i have just managed to put on my scan photos and mountain buggy photos. i do have the fabrics as well for the buggy, they were on the washing line.

fourlittlefeet · 22/07/2008 20:01

Just LOVE those twin photos. Feeling a bit jealous that I've not got them, but only in theory . The ladies with two at baby cinema never got to watch the film!

I too can feel flutterings. I think it feels a bit like the whirring you get from a CD drive on a laptop, but then again, I do work it IT!

Also got given my first seat on the tube due to bump . Baggy top not working that well then.

Told work today...they were lovely. Now I can start wearing materity instead of dreaded black baggy tops which are hell in this weather woohoo! Just the in-laws to tell now...

MrsMagpie · 22/07/2008 21:10

Mel your pics are just amazing!

FLF thats a great discription. My bean has been very quiet for the last couple of days but has been whirring away tonight. It must be a particular spot that i can feel more than others. Either that of it is protesting against all my coughing and sneezing!

I have an all day presentation tomorrow. Wish me luck!
xx

fourlittlefeet · 22/07/2008 21:19

Good luck MM. Having just come out of a week long cold I know exactly how you feel. Its absolute hell. Nobody can understand you when you speak with a blocked up nose, which is also chapped from permanent wiping, and you have tissues, crumpled or otherwise everywhere! I even had to sleep with a tissue plug up my nose as the running was tickling. gross I know. nearly gone now though and a bit more energy. On the plus side I lost 1.5 kgs as I lost my appetite when I couldn't smell the food.

No more nursery for us for a month, which hopefully means a respite from the colds DD brings home .

Periwink · 22/07/2008 21:33

Mel2005 - just took a peak at your scan photos, how amazing to see to babies - seems unreal!

elkiedee · 23/07/2008 00:26

Back in London from my mum's , appointment for test (CVS) on Thursday at 9 am so facing a long anxious few days.

Good luck for the scan rrrayray.

chefswife · 23/07/2008 07:15

stripeywoolenhat i am feeling the fluttering. spoke to my midwife today and she said it is quite possible. i only feel it when i am laying a certain way in bed. if i get up to pee, it stops for a while till i go back into the position... laying on my left side, top knee pulled up towards chest. it is amazing really.

went for midwife appt today and was shocked that i've only gained 4 pounds since becoming pregnant. i was quite worried but all my tests came back fabulous. i hope i can be one of those ladies that slim down fast after giving birth. here's to hoping.

is anyone considering one of those 3d dvd video of beans. it's very intriguing. the ultra sound office i will be going to offers it. hmmm.

good luck with scan rrrayray
