DM - Maybe DS doesn't need a nap everyday anymore. My DS is 2yr1mth and since about 20ish mths he hasn't regularly had a midday nap.

When at nursery (mon-wed) he always has an hour (more if they let him, i put a stop to this). But when at home he doesnt want to so I don't force it. He might (very rare) have a nap when out and about but not at home.

Oblomov · 16/07/2008 14:03

Love it. Count me in.

Pinkali37 · 16/07/2008 14:08

Lacks I love the idea of secret stork..I will email you.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/07/2008 14:10

lol serendippity at that poor wee unwanted and unloved computer generated image .

My hormones haven't been bad at all this time, but I think that might have something to do with the prozac

LackaDAISYcal · 16/07/2008 14:28

I'll set up a new thread for it and anyone interested can add their name there. Then once we have enough numbers, I'll see about sorting the rest out

Secret Stork Thread

what we also did as well was text buddies nearer to our due dates, the idea being that when you had the baby you texted your buddy and they let the thread know what was happening...to save us all chewing our knuckles and wondering if everyone was OK!

OP posts:
Oblomov · 16/07/2008 14:55

I was thinking about that the other day, Daisy.
Another good idea.
Are you our 'Good Idea'er ?
Thinking that I will prob be in hospital for a week, or atleast 5 days, and how would I let you all know.

Tinkerisdead · 16/07/2008 15:14

count me in stork idea, i could do with shopping for someone elses baby to stop me buying tat i dont need. Buddy idea id great too, but i have my homebirth, i was thinking perhaps i could rig up a webcam and broadcast it to you all. Pinkali and i are due the same day so i could try to make it early in the day and then after she has watched she can freak out and plaster her worries all over the net!

Serendipity, i've torn a ligament in the bottom of my bump...it kills. ive spent all day trying to clean my house and ive had to wipe the floors by hand as i cant stand.
Pinkali i worked as a senior cust service manager for BT. I quit in Feb as they so cack. Now im being dragged to tribunals after i sacked people for being off sick. they all had more than 400 days in 4 years mind you.

LackaDAISYcal · 16/07/2008 15:15

how about a good idealist....or does that mean something else entirely

Feels weird not doing the school run. DS is going to a friend's house for tea tonight and I'm sitting her with that "I should be somewhere" feeling.

but, other than the post office (I've sold more nappies ) and picking DS up at 6:30; I have nowhere I need to be!

Great idea about the secret stork lacka, and I like the text buddy too, although DH knows his way around MN so would make sure everyone knew!

vbab78 · 16/07/2008 15:38

TheDoctorsWife46 - ouch! You are in the wars.

How can BT drag you back for tribunals when you no longer work for them? I hope they are paying you for your time!

LackaDAISYcal - just try and relax as I bet you dont get much chance.

The other week my DS grandparents (in laws) took him to seaside and me and DH felt lost like something was missing. Very strange ..

Tinkerisdead · 16/07/2008 15:41

VBAB i dont know how they can, they say i have to attend as i was the dismissing person. I thought about going and saying i cant remember but im too bloody honest. This tribunal was a day as the guy represented himself...badly...the next one is three weeks before my due date so i keep saying no.
Daisy if you feel lost and no-where to be you can help me wipe floors?

coolkat · 16/07/2008 15:53

Thanks for the new thread, wow you lot still natter loads.

Like the idea of going bra less although if I had to walk fast I would end up with black eyes!

Glad it is not just me that is hormonal, I broke down into a quivering wreck the other day purely because my boss was having a bad day not to mention the argument me and DH had crikey he got my hormones thrown at him full pelt!

Secret stork sounds good, can the not so regular join!!!

Well been decorating the nursery, DH started, painted it 'pale yellow' christ the poor kid would never of slept I am sure we used energy saving paint so now it has been repainted a pale cream colour!! Think I might be nesting, keep writing lists of all the silly things need to do and keep painting things, god our down stairs toilet has been half done for about 6mths well now it has been glossed DH will be pleased when he comes home [hopefull emotion!]

Sorted few bits out to put on ebay and trying to thin out DD playroom.

Had my physio app yest and I am sure all this was not what I should have been doing Whoops, remind me of this when I am on crutches!

Anyway off to swimming lessons god I hate them
X

Pinkali37 · 16/07/2008 15:55

Dr's Wife ha ha at me watching you. I am trying to stay very naive and thinking that it will be like popping peas... likely blo**y story!!

LackaDAISYcal · 16/07/2008 15:56

DW, can you get off on the grounds of your condition? I'm sure your doc can sign you as unfit or something. Try asking on the employment boards; flowerybeanbag is very knowledgeable and helpful

Finally caught up 6 pages! Wha can I remember?!

Ceebee, good news on scan, hope it's a small bubble that irons out (sorry for mixed metaphors!).

Yorky - don't know how you will cope with ds, especially for eg. if you need to stay in hospital for longer for any reason...do you have some REALLY good friends? Once you are out, 3 weeks should be just about manageable if someone else is doing ALL the cooking (ie. someone is round every night), ALL the food shopping, you have a cleaner 3x per week, you arrange for someone to take ds to a playschool/ nursery for a number of hours every day etc. I don't think the baby will notice if he/ she doesn't see dh for 3 weeks if he has plenty of bonding time at Christmas.

Dozy- i totally understand about the girl being a boy. i was worrying since it had been mentioned on here. Last scan they confirmed the boy twin but couldn't see the girl so she remains 'unconfirmed'. I didn't want to put the thought in your head, but looks like some kind friend did! (she's your BF?!). At least I have other scans o check and believe me, I will be asking at all of them. For 69 quid I owuld do the scan (hope as it is private they will be a little more careful especially if you explain you are so desperate to know). I know it is a lot of money, but not much in the grand scheme of emotional stability!

cricri · 16/07/2008 17:37

I've also been catching up since I last popped in yesterday afternoon
Ceebee good news about your scan, what a relief. Fingers crossed the CF blood results come back clear.
Love the idea of the Secret Stork and have added my name to the thread.
Had my 25 week MW appt today and all is well. Baby's hb is 145-155 bpm and my bump is measuring spot on 25cm I got my MatB1 form so I now need to wade through the relevant website to find out about claiming Maternity Allowance (I'm self-employed). I'm thinking of taking 2 months off until the new year after the baby is born and then doing the odd translation here and there whenever I can fit it in around the baby. Fortunately my clients are flexible. DH works shifts and my Mum lives nearby so both could help out. Am I being totally unrealistic? Perhaps I should wait and see how I feel once baby arrives, although I do need to let clients know that I'll be out of action from mid-October onwards. DH won't get any paternity leave either as he's a contractor so he'll take 2 weeks of (unpaid) leave.
On a brighter note I'm off to France tomorrow for just over 2 weeks No internet access initially but from Tuesday I'll be able to catch up with you all. You'll have started another thread by then Love the new title btw.
Hope everybody is feeling better today

toolly · 16/07/2008 17:46

RE 4D scans. I had one with DS (the eldest) I was living in Costa Rica so it was a lot cheaper and we had two incomes. Although he looked like his scan photo when he was born, it still was a complete surprise when I clocked him the first time. For me it didn't help with bonding before the birth (I only bonded when he actually arrived and was doing the 'wise old man staring thing' that newborns do so well.

Roca · 16/07/2008 18:08

Hey Ladies,

The only sex I care about is what I'm getting from my DH!! . I definitely want more during pg - although the belly is starting to cause a few probs now.

bubbaz · 16/07/2008 18:21

Roca lol at 30 point turn was just saying the same thing to DH last night!
Ceebee glad the scan was OK fingers crossed for the CF results for you. Lovely idea re the secret tok and the text buddy thing.
Vbab hope you feel better.
Sorry if I have missed anyone but this thread just goes so quickly in 1 day I am washing like an idiot DH is going to ibiza tomorrow and seems to want everything that is in the wash grr!
Hope everyone is well

Bettispaghetti · 16/07/2008 19:08

Roca with you on the 30 point turn. Also starting to find it difficult to benddsown to put my knickers on. The number of times I've nearly toppled flat on my face! Me thinks I'd better start sitting on the bed to hike em up!

Roca · 16/07/2008 19:11

I bought some gladiator sandals the other day - it literally took me 20 mins to do one of the ankle straps up - which ever way I twisted i just couldn't get to it! Flip flops are the only way forward in pg!

misdee · 16/07/2008 19:13

ceebee, hope the CF results come back clear for you

shoe, erm am living in crocs and flip flops as well.

i cannot bend easily, this baby is laying low it seems, and i just cant bend. the girls are finding it funny, except for when i get them to pick stuff up off the floor for me.
