CEEBEE - I was looking at that buggy last night.

But found that the graco one cheaper for you ... www.babycarecentres.co.uk/id5049.html £114.95 and £129.99 on kiddicare.

Looks very like the Mothercare's own 1 which is on offer at the moment (£110). Only thing is (like all tandems) mothercare tried their's in my C-MAX boot which is quite big and it took up half of it!

ceebee74 · 15/07/2008 16:07

Vbab - THANKYOU!! DH will love you forever for that link!! It seems so cheap!! Is 13.6kg lightweight? (Sorry, but I have not done much research into this so have no idea ) And yes, it will take up most of the boot of my car but I don't really plan to use it during the week (on the 2 days I will have both DC's at home with me, I don't plan on going shopping or anywhere that would require the car and the pram ) and at weekends, we use DH's car which has a humungous boot!!

misdee · 15/07/2008 16:12

i had a buggy similar to the graco one, for dd1+2, was mothercares own make but made by graco.

i lost 3stone pushing that buggy

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 16:13

DM Lacks has been pootling around on the nappy threads..resistence to MNet is futile..

ChocOrange05 · 15/07/2008 16:32

Grrr - my back hurts and my DH keeps using my birthing ball as a footrest and making it deflate so I have to pump it up every night. Bad DH!!

LackaDAISYcal · 15/07/2008 16:33

I have the talk page set as my home page so it's there whenever I connect to the internet.....then I see it and just can't resist...especially reuseable nappy threads!

Pinky, I justify it as all being research for my nappy business

Have also been having a giggle here and here

and the house is still in chaos

ok, next weeks shopping item is a sheepskin liner

can anyone recommend one?

twinklingfairy · 15/07/2008 16:39

Just thought I would pop in to say hiya so that I don't get left behind.
God this heratburn is beginning to drive me insane! The title is just right!

I am just avoiding the whole new pram issue cos I am bamboozled by it and same as vbab(I think, sorry preggy memory or, really, just twinklings memory is poo) pennies are too tight, so if I can avoid it, I will.
DD will be 2 and 2 months, but we really don't walk far so I think she will be fine.

I am confused by those rucksacks, which are really cute, but where does the lead go/come from, how does it work? Does it have a strap to go across their chest or what is to stop them just slipping the whole thing off?? Which would be DD's first move if she felt anything was hindering her freedom!
confused

twinklingfairy · 15/07/2008 16:40

B##gger, heartburn not heratburn! doh!

misdee · 15/07/2008 16:42

the rucksacks strap across the front as well. the lead bit clips onto a little d-ring on the back of the bag. we have the ladybird one.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 16:43

oh aye Lacks we believe you! I was looking at that spoooky thread too. vry funny.

Re the graco- if it's a tandem and 13kg it will be extremely heavy to puush, I reckon. Kerbs will be a killer. But just for pootling about the odd day, you might get away with it

ceebee74 · 15/07/2008 16:57

Oh crap - I really like the look (and price) of the Graco!! Although, surely losing 3 stone from pushing it is a good thing, no?? Plus DS isn't THAT heavy (in fact he is a bit of a lightweight for his age)

bubbaz · 15/07/2008 16:57

Ceebee if you have a mothercare near you their own brand is actually a Graco with a mothercare badge so you could try it there?
Sparkle my DS loves his little life too and also insits on holding the strap himself - Oh the battles we have in the middle of town!!

misdee · 15/07/2008 16:58

tbh its wasnt that much of a pain with kerbs and by the time dd2 was over 6months old, coupled with dd1, i was pushing 50lb of kids around in mine.

ChocOrange05 · 15/07/2008 17:07

Thanks Daisy LOVE the spooky thread - very amusing!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 17:10

my friend has something similar to this except it has nahndles on the sides for the loo to hold onto. she found it ok I think.

ceebee74 · 15/07/2008 17:13

Misdee - see, DS is only 28lbs now at 2

bubbaz · 15/07/2008 17:14

Umm Sorry for the same old info I prob should have noticed there was a page 2 and READ it!
Ceebee I saw one it was a Safety first I think and looked really compact compared to alot of the tandems it was on the mothercare website but appears to have gone now??
Its def on the halfords website for £115. It doesn't say what the weight is but I have seen one in the flesh and it looked nice, the back is a lovely cosy little nest for Baby and the front seat reclines slightly it would have been what I had if I hadn't got my bargain - I just gave up in the end and went for something cheap I was sick of changing my mind every five mins!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 17:16

misdee did you ever get my email?

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 17:24

ceebe sounds like you have a dinky like my DD. DS was mahoosive and way over 30lb at 16 months!

I reckon you'd get away with something like the Graco if you were only using it a few days etc. as you say. If you are walking everywhere eachday with two and getting the bus I think you'd get fed up. I tried loads out in M'care etc. with DS sat in the front and a bag in the back. I'll find out what this seat thingy is my friend haS, as that may be an option.

chocolategal · 15/07/2008 18:01

just a quick question ladies, i am still hunting around for the best deal on prams! think i have found it on bambinodirect.com, has anyone bought from there before?

sparkletoes · 15/07/2008 18:26

Yes I think that for the price and infrequent use the Graco sounds like a good option but I would def be interested in trying the Mothercare version Bubbaz mentioned first... I was in there recently and the sales girl said that Mothercare were bringing out a new double later in year (there were no 'own' makes in the shop at time!).

I have gone round and round over this issue and like the idea of a (second hand) Nipper 360 or similar but as I said before it would all depend how often I used it. No point spending loads on (near) perfect buggy if I only use it once a week! Whatever happens tho def won't be parting with any cash til much nearer the time! Also there is a wee boy who goes to same toddlers as me, he can't be more than 3 but he walks alongside his sister's buggy so may not need it for very long...

chocolategal I have certainly heard of bambinodirect but can't remember if I've bought from there...

chocolategal · 15/07/2008 18:29

just done a search for bambino direct in the pregnancy section and it seems to be horror stories all the way!!
will keep on looking

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 18:32

chocolateangel sorry I don't know them. What are you after?

PInkyminkyohnooo · 15/07/2008 18:40

sparkle- it is a real dilemma. My DS was only just wlking when DD was born so there was no question I needed a double of some description. DD will be 2 when this one comes and if I didn't already have the p&t I would be in the same quandry as you.
