Daisy, I need lots of notice for stork. Not driving limits my shopping choices. If I want something really nice for someone I may need to arrange a trip to Guildford or Kingston.
Tell me NOW whom I'm buying for . PLEASE. I like to give it alot of thought. And make sure I buy something REALLY nice.

bubbaz · 23/07/2008 16:40

Oblomov I know what you mean I keep seeing things that are very cute but are usually either girls or boys and I don't know if whomever I get knows what flavour they are having!

misdee · 23/07/2008 16:41

word of warnign if anyone gets me. i am sick of pink!!!

sorry!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 16:56

ob, you can order from a lovely online baby gift shop, have it gift wrapped and delivered to your recipient..all from the comfort of your armchair

I'll get it sorted out after my holidays..we are off to the seaside on Friday for a week and then up to Scotland for a long weekend.

Have a lovely holiday Lacks.

to everyone x

MerryMarigold · 23/07/2008 17:52

obs, you can be my secret stork!

had my final appt at Barts today. bad day to go into central london. i look like i am about to give birth and it still took a few stops to get a seat! in the end i resorted to shutting my eyes and looking like i was going to faint!!

barbareebaa · 23/07/2008 19:10

Hi all!

Have just broken up - yay!!
Was quite sad though - I've been LSA and key worker to a student with Downs Syndrome and it was her last day today But I think we will keep in touch.

Oblomov so pleased you are feeling and seeing movement!! I love it

Misdee fantastic news that all is well with your little one

Chocorange I'm having some wierd dreams too. I dreamt I had a very hairy baby that smiled all the time. When I woke up I felt like I had bonded a little bit with the little person in my bump!!

hanaflower I too am experiencing leaky boobs!! Mostly at night - patches are appearing

I can't believe we are nearly into trimester 3!! Is anyone else feeling slightly freaked out nervous about this whole having a baby business? Its all a bit daunting! I mean I wouldn't change it for anything but yikes

ceebee74 · 23/07/2008 19:42

Was just thinking about the Secret Stork - would it be useful if, on the thread linked to below, we added next to it whether we would like boy, girl or unisex goodies to make it easier for the buyer? Otherwise, we will all be trying to rack our brains as to what flavour our recipient is having, or even if they know. What do you think?

Oblomov · 23/07/2008 19:59

MerryMarigold, I would love to be. But don't you have to be 'allocated' to me ?

Dozymare · 23/07/2008 20:09

evening all!!!!!!!!

obs do you think I am obsessed with food apart from "our" topics, the only one's I seem to post on are food related

I am just a piggy

Tonight, just for you Obs, I have made a goats cheese and caramalised balsamic onion tart.....with a nice salad on side...think you can quess that DH is out tonight, as distinctly meat free - which I am still not that keen on this PG.

Now secrest stork, isn't the whole idea meant to be that it is secret?!! Also, are we buying for babies - I thought we were buying for mums!!!!!!!!!!!!! (get me, it's all about me, me me!)

Cricri how is Ile de Re...am very I didn' thtink you were finding out!!!!!!!!! How exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why oh why do we pay in excess of £50 a month for Sky and there is never anyhting on....Oh I know why, so DH can watch sport, sport and more sport..Oh and Gladiators with DS1!

Dozymare · 23/07/2008 20:11

JUST A THOUGHT, and those of you that are on other antenatal threads....do we stay in touch for ever and ever??!

Wouldn't that be lovely.............

suiledonn · 23/07/2008 20:19

Hi, just catching up with the thread. I would love to do the Secret Stork but will the fact that I am in Ireland make it a pain for whoever gets me with maybe higher postage costs etc???

Dozymare · 23/07/2008 20:29

Suiledon not a problem on my behalf......

where is everyone tonight!!

suiledonn · 23/07/2008 20:32

Thanks Dozy, hope everyone else is ok with it. The thread does seem unusually quiet tonight.

Just wondering - I feel a bit sore on one part of my bump - high up on the left hand side, like a bump or a bruise but I can't recall bumping into anything. Any ideas what it could be?

cricri · 23/07/2008 20:39

DM Ile de Re is lovely thanks I love it here and can't wait to bring baby next year. Although like Barbareeba DH and I have had a few "Yikes what are we doing?!" moments
Suiledonn Ireland postage also not a problem for me. Not sure what your pain could be - I've read that stitch-like pains is your uterus stretching but your description doesn't sound the same. Perhaps ring your MW in the morning if you still have it?
Lackadaisycal Enjoy your holiday
It would be lovely to stay in touch once all our babies are born - don't we just create a post-natal thread? We might not reach 1000 messages quite as quickly with new babies but hey, never mind

Dozymare · 23/07/2008 20:40

hmm - stretching pains???? I keep getting this on either side but lower down and also sharp shooting pains.....was quite shocked at first, as thought I was going into early labour and didn't experience this in previous 2 PG's (not that I can remember anyhow!) I am guessing it is ligaments....is it constant????

DM x

suiledonn · 23/07/2008 20:44

Thanks cricri and dozy.

It is more like a sore patch than a pain. Feels sore to touch or if I move in certain ways. Doesn't feel like the stretching or growing pains I've had before. Baby is kicking away fine though. I think I will get it checked out tomorrow if it is still sore though. No point in taking a chance.

Dozymare · 23/07/2008 20:56

Cricri how is the weather??!!! When are you having your scan and where - I went to Babybond last week, very very impressive!!!

suiledon that sounds more like a bump or bruise sort of pain........deffo get checked out if you don't feel all is quite right...

My LO is very quiet tonight, does anyone have a baby who is transverse? It is so bloody difficult to bend over!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 21:10

ceebee, that will all be sorted out when emailing our details to the organiser, and will be passed to whoever is buying for you

I think the pain higher up might be a bit of trapped wind given that our intestines and all are squished up under our ribs now. I get this a lot and thought it was something sinister at first as it's sore to the touch but a good old fart sorted it out .

I'd mention it to your MW at your next appointment though to be on the safe side.

Dozy, my AN thread from June last year...now PN thread is as chatty as ever and we all share photos on FB and chat on there as well. In fact we are having a big meet up in London in August. I'm going to stay with one of them, and am a bit nervous given that we haven't actually met before

OP posts:
Yorky · 23/07/2008 21:11

I don't mind the Irish postage either.
Baby is lively atm, don't know how its lying though

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 21:18

my little man is lying across me at the minute with his feet to the left; I can tell from the kicks and the position of his hiccups

I don't mind posting to Ireland either....although I think a package coming from Ireland will be easy to spot. You might not be able to stay secret for long

OP posts:
Dozymare · 23/07/2008 21:19

Oh lacks that is lovely to hear - I hope we all do the same - you can come and stay chez Dozymare if we do a London one!!

It is very strange that I have never met anyone (bar Oblomov when we went shopping a few months ago, felt like a blind date but we had a fab time!) but I really feel as if we know each other so well.........Are you excited for your meet up??

ceebee74 · 23/07/2008 21:21

Daisy - ok, I wasn't sure how it was all going to work. Is the organiser going to be someone not on this thread then?

Suiledonn - postage to Ireland not a problem at all for me.

How do you all know which way your baby is lying? I have absolutely no idea - can you feel it? I never knew with DS either so am I missing something?

x

Dozymare · 23/07/2008 21:23

they told me at both the 20 week and private scan I had last week....both prior pregnancies babies were breech...I can definately feel that this baby is lying sideways as can't bend over without hurting myself! Its a nightmare!!!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 21:24

very ...like you say, I've been chatting to these women for getting on for two years now and we know the minutae of each other's lives; it's funny not to have met. I have met one or two of them individually, but haven't been to amass gathering; although the southern lot have met a couple of times and the ones that live nearby each other meet regularly. Most are down south though so I feel a bit out of it up here in the North. I'm also meeting up with another PN buddy who lives near St Andrews when I'm visiting "home" next weekend.
