Sorry to those of you not feeling well - can I join that club aswell? For the past couple of days, my MS seems to have come back and I feel nauseous most of the day, but in particular, in the mornings! Am still eating though (it takes a lot to stop that )

Have had some really good news at work today (not often you can say that is it?). Due to new legislation that has been brought in, it would appear that for the last 3 months of my maternity leave (I am taking 9 months), my organisation are going to have to pay for my monthly childcare vouchers that I currently have deducted from my salary - so basically, once I get past 6 months on maternity leave and don't have any 'salary' to deduct them from, work have to fund the lot so that is £750 worth of childcare vouchers, absolutely free!! How fab is that???

Pinkali37 · 22/07/2008 15:06

All the 'outs' were supposed to be our/s adn when i say that i don't like DH to be touching my bump i mean with his tummy iykwim

Oblomov · 22/07/2008 20:09

I have had my first visible movement. Lying in the bath, I saw two big kicks and my whole tummy moved.
Seeing as I have felt no movement at all so far, and seeing as my MW was quite concerned about this, due to my synechia, I was REALLY EXCITED.
Sorry, just had to share that.

misdee · 22/07/2008 20:13

i am bloody shattered!

couldnt get a seat on the tube on the way into london, but managed to get a seat on the way back which was a good thing. forgot to take the right letter so couldnt claim back travel expenses to the hospital so now have to do that by post and wait for a cheque.

Anyway. Consultant is very happy with baby's heart, and has discharged me from their care. hwe wants GP to fill i na form at 6 week check, and a scan one when baby reaches 4years old, so dont need to go in for a quite a while.

Oblomov · 22/07/2008 20:17

Oh Misdee that is good.
I forgot to tell you, when I went to kings on Tuesday, after I finished I went to Covent Garden to Bravissimo to be measured. I was only on one stop before changing, but a man offered me his seat. I didn't think that happened anymore. I politely refused by thanked him very much.

misdee · 22/07/2008 20:18

aww do u have a bump?

i dont, i just look fat.

Tinkerisdead · 22/07/2008 20:18

Hooray to misdee successful scan and oblomov's visable movements. Mine seems to go quiet in the bath

Yorky · 22/07/2008 21:01

hello all, not been on for a bit as life has got in the way. Yesterday left DS art nursery for an hour on his own and got all hormonal leavinghim, especially as he was still catching his breath when I got back
Then we went to the b/feeding picnic which went well and the weather was nice and met a lady with a ring sling who told me when and where to find the local sling meet so that was very useful!

Then we went home and I found a rash in DS nappy, up his tummy and down his legs so we went for a happy half hour at the Drs - whatever I say about RAF life to call and say baby is hot and spotty, OK bring him in, I left home at 405 and was in the car park reassured and with prescription by 430 Its apparently a virus so just dose him up to keep temp down. He's being a bit high maintenance though so we went to the library and got a Thomas DVD as a treat today.
Then in the evening I went bowling with the Brownie pack we will be joining with in September as all the other leaders have left and I didn't think doing it on my own was a good idea! That was a bit frustrating though as their brown owl was ill and not there. And I was late as I had planned to take DS with me but changed my mind after Drs so had to wait till DH got in from work.

to all those seeing movement, it is weird and lovely isn't it. DH has felt baby a few times, and I don't if DS feels it but I often get kicked when we are cuddled up, especially with bedtime bottle!

Glad the heart is OK, he sounds confident that there isn't a problem.

to those feeling ill, I have an annoying cough and a dry throat which drinking doesn't help, but can happily eat a bowl of cereal at any time of day or night

Think thats me caught up now, off to bed and hoping he sleeps, poor little man

bubbaz · 22/07/2008 21:11

Sorry to everyone who feels poorly today I seem to have developed travel sickness which I have never suffered from before I'm fine on short journeys and if i'm drivng but not as a passenger.
Yorky hope DS is better soon.

Pinkali37 · 23/07/2008 09:11

Misdee, brilliant news about babys heart!!! You must be very relieved.

I'm off to London on Friday, shopping with my sister for baby things! We will look funny together waddling onto the tube.

Pleased everyone seems 'ok'.

Yorky, sorry your DS has had to go thte dr's, however it does seem like a very good service (esp for hormonal pregnant mummy)

Morning guys - not been on for a while so just catching up. I'm 26 weeks today
Can't believe how fast time is slipping by.

I'm off for the six weeks holidays now but day three and i'm bored (sorry to those at work today)but normally when it's the holidays i work in our local bar to give me somethings to do when dp is at work but not so easy this year. Trying to keep reminding myself that this will be the last time i will have any 'me' time for a while so i'm trying to enjoy.
At least the weather is better this week.

I hope everybody is well and lovely news about the movement outside your body Oblomov

Morning all.

Obs glad you got some movement now - its bizarre when you see it isn't it!

Misdee glad your scan went well - and damn the nasty tube riders - I had the same thing yesterday and I felt like screaming at them about manners but instead just stood there knackered and far too polite.

Lola I have no sympathy for you - I only get 5 weeks holiday a year!!

Just wanted to share my wierd / exciting dream with you all last night. For the first time I dreamt about my baby! Prior to having mine though I dreamt a friend of ours had a baby girl and when we went to see them the baby hadn't been cleaned since being born, I was told you didn't need to bath newborns straight away so I think my dream took it literally! This baby also had a full head of big curly hair like that old Columbian footballer Valderama! So then I had my baby - it was born the day after I was due (so 2nd November) at 6am and was a girl. For some reason DH and I went home and left the baby in the hospital and then I realised I didn't have any breast pads so we went shopping for them.

That was about it - very strange but also quite nice to dream about our baby in a good way!

Anyone else had wierd dreams??

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 11:14

fab news about the childcare vouchers ceebee. It wasn't like that last year when I had DD!

Obs - pleased you saw the movements. I just can't help but stop what i'm doing and watch my tummy.

ceebee74 · 23/07/2008 11:22

Chocorange - I suspect this is only the start of the weird dreams - iirc from my first pg, they got more and more vivid (and erotic sometimes ) as time went on !

Misdee - so glad about your baby's heart - must be a huge relief for you.

Lola - am with Chocorange - not going to get much sympathy from me either about your boredom Just MN all day

Daisy - re the childcare vouchers, it has just been brought in and only applicable if your baby is due after 5 October 2008 so am actually glad I didn't get pg earlier now . (Sparks - excuse my ignorance - are the employment laws the same in Scotland as in England as if so, then yes it would be applicable in Scotland aswell but you have to already been getting the government childcare vouchers through your employer to qualify)

Am of all of those of you actually seeing movements - am still not there yet! His movements are getting a bit more regular (at least once a day now) but still quite light and definitely can't be seen from the outside - I can't wait!!

LackaDAISYcal · 23/07/2008 11:40

with DD i kept dreaming i'd given birth to a ginger cat. i had variations on that dream four or five times...very weird. In one everyone was getting annoyed with me for giving up BFing but the cat kept biting me. Was freaky. And I've started with the erotic dreams already . Twice now I've woken up in a right old lather , but at the same time!

Off to see the MW this morning with both DC in tow! DS is desperate to hear the babies heartbeat
