Mmmmm, steak and chips, medium rare with stuffed giant muchrooms and horseradish sauce

That's tomorrow's tea sorted . DCs not keen on steak so I think I'll cook for DH once they are in bed. Have a bit of a grown up evening, with red wine and everything!

yes the kids have had fishfingers already for their tea lol. just dh and i are hungrey now, so having it soon and not waiting for them to go to bed lol.

tegan · 17/07/2008 17:33

I have just put fish chips and beans on to cook ready for when dh gets back from his mercy mission to my nan's. i also found some turkey drummers and stuck those in for me to have later, i fancy them cold with pickle.

I don't have ay cranberry so i am drinking loads of water until i can get to the shop tomorrow.

What buggies are people buying?

I don't know what to get and also what is best value for money, then there is the weight and size issue.

Tinkerisdead · 17/07/2008 17:36

right all, im off as ive got a man coming to measure for blind in the nursery. i have managed to upload pictures finally so you can see me in my wheelchair and my big bare tv. I will be back in the morning to face the ridicule!! Please note that my blue anorak in wheel chair was for weather conditions and not a fashion statement. Hence forth i enclose my wedding photo so you can see that i do scrub up when required!!

Tinkerisdead · 17/07/2008 17:37

TV?? tummy that was! bare tummy. durrrr

mum2becks · 17/07/2008 17:47

you are all making me feel hungry with what you are having for tea, dh wont be home until about 7.30/8pm so not eating until then as cant be bothered to cook twice!!

heartmum I love the name Zack that was the name we had chosen if dd had been a boy and would have kept it for this time round but close friends have just named their new son that so cant really have it now! All your pics are lovely and your bump looks very neat!!

tegan · 17/07/2008 17:48

dh is trying to convince me to put a pic of my bare bump on here, so i might later.

Oblomov · 17/07/2008 17:49

God, I love Heart2mums bump.
I have overhang from CS aswell, but don't care. No strecth marks here though, so atleast thats one good thing.
I must upload another photo. A bare one.

and I am truley gutted. DrsWife doesn't have the same facial features as Brian. I was hoping that she would.

Oblomov · 17/07/2008 17:50

We've just eaten take away chicken curry, chicken fired rice and prawn crackers. Yum.

Oblomov · 17/07/2008 17:50

I have finished stripping. Yee ha.
I did it all inbetween postings. Am well proud of myself.

Dozymare · 17/07/2008 18:08

Dr's wife forget Brian,,,,more like "I WANT THAT ONE" ANdy from Little Britain!!!!!!!!

Sorry to take the piss, but really made me laugh...especially the mac as well! You did very very well to redeem yourself with your wedding photo where incidentally, you look gorgeous!!!

My baby boy is 2 tomorrow so have spent all afternoon making a choc train cake with DS1......they are now fighting whilst I MN and can't be bothered to intervene!!!!!!!

Bad Mother DM!

MerryMarigold · 17/07/2008 18:14

Heartmum, gorgie pics. Had to lol at Martin!!! (I know 2 nice ones but still...). Ds's favourite name at the moment is Brian. All the snails in the garden are called Brian (sorry if this is anyone's fav boy's name).

I love how names go in and out of fashion...Emily, Moly, Ruby, Rose, Daisy, Primrose, Iris etc. all v. Victorian and back in fashion. Do you think Dorothy, Brenda, Bernard & Colin will be our kids names of choice?!

FOOOOOOOOOOD. I could talk for hours, I will spare you.

MNet makes me want to rebel. Ds loves 'fizzy juice' and gets it occasionally. I believe in everything in moderation. Except I can't do bought curry. It's my speciality (dh is Sri Lankan) and I'm very snobby about that. And I don't wear crocs cos they look sweaty and they are expensive. And I always feed my ds food in the supermarket but only stuff in a packet that I can pay for when we get to the checkout.

sparkletoes · 17/07/2008 19:18

I agree with you MerryM everything in moderation is the most sensible way. I always give DS a kids-size packet of grapes in Morrisons, I pay for it at checkout of course and don't upset other customers with screaming child so where's the harm?!!

Am loving the curry theme....mmmn love curry, am convinced my DS came right on time due the ole curry/sex combo in the week before my DD! Will see if I was right in November...

ceebee74 · 17/07/2008 20:30

Evening - I haven't been able to get on all day cos work has been keeping me busy - what is that all about???

HM2J - your boys are just gorgeous!! And I have to say I love the name Zack (it was one of my preferred names but DH not so keen) And I am afraid I am of the mindset that if MIL doesn't like it, it would make it even more attractive to me My mum hated the name we had picked out for a girl and told me so - I think she is mighty relieved that it won't be used!!

Drswife - you look stunning in your wedding photo!!

All this talk of food....yum! I have nothing in the house and DH is away tonight so I am snacking on crap rather than making a proper tea

I was up at 5.30 this morning as had booked my VIP slot for the Next sale for then - there wan't much left but I did pick up some maternity bargains (and also saw loads of stuff I have already bought loads cheaper....grr!) I also got some stuff for the baby - I know it is early but it was so cheap and it was great knowing that I could definitely buy boys stuff!! I got the most gorgeous cardigan with a little lion on - so cute!!

Confession time! DS has a pair of cheapy crocs bought on holiday for the beach which he wears when I can't find a pair of socks! We took him to pizza hut for tea this evening and he ate all the olives off DHs half! We 'borrowed' a buggy from the display in Asda and he pushed that arpund the store as I wasn't buying any grapes because we bought them in the market this morning!
I think Zack William sounds lovely
I asked DH what he thought of Ruby for a girl and he said he likes Jade and everyone would forget Jade Goody soon!
Please stop talking about steak and grilled mushrooms with onion rings and horseradish or mustard, I'm not fussy! Although DH did buy some 1664 so I may help him with a can [trying to feel guilty but liking the though emotican]

MerryMarigold · 17/07/2008 23:27

Not much MN action tonight - 3 messages since 6.15 - you lot must all be scoffing food!

Yorky - laughing at the borrowed buggy to keep ds amused. We always 'borrow' a basketball and football/ rugby ball to go round Tesco's. If ds throws them on the floor, he can't have them, so he just hugs them! At the end of the shop we put them back and say 'bye 'bye. He is fine with it, and I think it's great he's able to put them back without a big fuss. Yesterday we went window shopping round Woolworths and he was really good at looking at toys but not saying 'I want it', understanding they are not his and he can't have everything. Long may it continue. I hope it is not a phase!!

Night night all...tonight I have insomnia a this end of the night, so I hope I won' be up at 4.00am as well.

MerryMarigold · 18/07/2008 05:32

I'm still here by myself . No-one else insomniac. I had bad indigestion all night! Not sure Gaviscon would help (I don't have any) as it is not really heartburn, not in stomach, more intestinal.

bubbaz · 18/07/2008 08:01

Oh merry hope you feel better this morning and are not totlly exhausted.
I too give DS grapes or sausages when shopping but I also have to let DH have some too
My Nanna said to me last week that she hopes for the babys sake it is a boy and does not have that god awful name inflicted on her charming thanks Nanna you won't be wanting to see baby if it is a girl then??
DH has gone to Ibiza so I am looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend with my friends and family.
Hope everyone is well this morn.

Yorky · 18/07/2008 08:06

Poor lonely Merry, we could have had a nice chat at 2-3 this morning when DS was wanting someone to talk to !

Oblomov · 18/07/2008 08:19

I too was awake in the middle of the night.
Not sure what time it was. And not for too long, I got back to sleep.
But I couldn't have come on and had a chat with MM, because what with all the decoration going on, we currently have moved the computer out of the spare room, and it is in our romm, by dh's head !!!
Not now though, he has gone to work.
I have been given the job of sugar-soaping the walls , today.
Best get on with it. See you later.

mum2becks · 18/07/2008 08:32

I too was awake in the night but didnt get out of bed as felt shattered but couldnt sleep!!

Kept getting a pain in my right hip if I laid on my left side, as though it was being pushed out of position?? but when I lay on my right side I get pins and needles in my arm so cant win!!!

Hope everyone is feeling ok this morning even if a little tired!!

ChocOrange05 · 18/07/2008 09:44

I missed the last few pages so have been quickly trying to catch up - apologies if I miss anyone!

Drswife lovely photos and luckily you look nothing like Brian Potter!!

tegan DH and I just bought a Quinny Buzz as they look pretty and seem to work quite easily - it is an expensive option but we got a second hand bargain for the whole set for £260.

I had a massive craving for Ritz crackers last night and trekked to 2 of the local co-ops (only shop open at 9.30pm) with no luck - in the end I had Fox's Crunch Creams dipped in a cup of tea and an apple for dinner.

My one and only pregnancy constant is still a Strawberry Ribena on the train each morning.

So just to clarify, crocs + fruit shoots = bad mother . I must say, personally I think those croc things are very chunky and ugly and fruit shoots just taste like sugar (probably the attraction!) so I assume I am a good mother already!!

Tinkerisdead · 18/07/2008 10:48

Morning all, do you think nesting could have kicked in this early? i woke up at 9am, missed my next sale slot which annoyed me, dragged myself to the kitchen and scrubbed the fronts of all my cupboards and the kick boards at the bottom. i then cleared out the food cupboard, threw away all out of date stuff and rearranged my herbs!!! I mean seriously, re-arranged my herbs???!!!! all this on a chair or sat on the tiled floor due to the crutches... im gonna give myself piles!!!

Yorky · 18/07/2008 10:51

Drswife, you are such a good example, I am sat on the settee horrified at postage prices to Ireland for ebay when I'm supposed to be hoovering before friend comes for the weekend. I have done the washing up and put the shopping away and hung washing on line though, just waiting for it to rain now!

Tinkerisdead · 18/07/2008 11:12

LOL at good example, Ive had a blitz on the house this week prob so i can justify reading my book. next week the decorators are coming to paint the nursery and playroom so i think im mentally trying to get the rest of house nice so its all "perfect". I think ive lost the plot!! how is it going to be perfect with decorators traipsing round the house!!
