OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
bealcain · 15/07/2008 17:52

dizzy close. i made this decision based on the info that you have previous children and so perhaps a school run? tying is easy enough, the close is a bit of a cheat really but you said decide so i have! the colour is up to you though! (you can get it through me if you so wish )

PetitFilou1 · 15/07/2008 18:06

Buckets Yes it means could be head or bum engaged. I was a breech birth and came out feet first (with 10 students watching) so I suppose that is possible too...
Dh appears to be realising that it is actually quite close to us having no3 now. Looked a bit perturbed when I said I had to take a bag with me to the scan! I have to actually think about packing one now and not just with mascara and lippy as per TS

longwayfromhome · 15/07/2008 18:08

Buckets - I have your laxative tea cake ingredients soaking in the fridge at the moment, so I will keep everyone updated on the flavour and efficacy of this recipe.

Ooh ooh more good news for me, DH has decided to apply for condensed hours instead of quitting his job! As he pretty much does 42 hrs a week and gets paid for 35, it makes no real difference to the 4 days he will work but means he can have Mondays off which are the worst motorwaywise. I am trying really hard not to use phrases out loud like 'seeing sense' and 'at last' LOL. Still allegedly looking for a new job (seen no evidence myself) but this should get him through the summer at least and is a big weight off my mind.

dizzydixies · 15/07/2008 18:37

bealcain set me up then please! how do we do this? how much is it can I have it in black please? not very bright/baby friendly but if I am even going to attempt get dh to wear it that might give me a fighting chance

to those on the traybake trails - make the malteser one in a slightly smaller tin than recommended AND melt milk chocolate over the top of it and leave it to set - if you're going to indulge you shouldn't stop half way imo

dizzydixies · 15/07/2008 18:40

buckets thats great news, nothing like a long weekend

they were trying to sort a section date for me too today as the prof is not happy for me to go over my due date (the 30th) and the best they could offer was the 5th (a whole week ) SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO am booked in for a section on the 30th July at 8am [meep] if this baby doesn't decide to come out sooner

I can't BELIEVE I forgot to mention that earlier

ataraxis · 15/07/2008 18:46

ok, time has come to focus on baby names. I like Anna, DH has said no and also that just giving him one name gives him no choice but provided no alternatives. How on earth do i start?

dizzydixies · 15/07/2008 18:50

oohh I love Anna - timeless classic imo

do you have a criteria for a name?

initials you can't use?
to go with anything
syllables in your surname?
preferences - biblical/classic/modern/unusual?

ataraxis · 15/07/2008 18:52

cyteen and cheerful, thank you for making me feel better about the lack of house organisation! Currently working on the basis that if this DC comes sooner than expected we at least have a travel cot from last time ...
pf, doesn't engagement tend to happen much closer to birth in later pgs...?

on the domestication front, ate lettuce grown by my very own fair(?) hand today - most pleased with myself... but also ate shop bought treacle tart .

ataraxis · 15/07/2008 18:55

dizzy - surname begins with H, so no H's please. Nothing too popular/trendy but something a little bit unusual. Probably two syllables as surname is 3 (have thought about Amelia but a bit of a mouthful). Something pretty but not too girlie - based on family experience this one is likely to be a tomboy (will probably turn out to be a pink frilly now that i have said that).
does that help? hasn't helped me

dizzydixies · 15/07/2008 18:56

yes, its a start - am I allowed to ask what the boys are called or even what initial they begin with?

ataraxis · 15/07/2008 18:56

have to get boys out of the car and spend some time with them, as i have left them playing in it for 20 mins now so probably no car left - will check in later.

bealcain · 15/07/2008 19:03

dizy i've jsut had another thought. if you're still not sure you could always rent from my sling library (£2.50 per week) and then decide!)

go to www.handinhandbreastfeeding.co.uk and use the contact us form either way.

I;m not getting the close back untill 8 th August, but you can try moby first.

PetitFilou1 · 15/07/2008 19:43

ataraxis supposedly yes, but obviously not in my case! dd engaged at about 36 weeks and she was my second.

dizzy Amelie nooooooooooo I know about a million!

dizzydixies · 15/07/2008 19:45

really pf I only know one lol
although am fed up reading about how many Ella's there are (dd1's name) when I again, only know of one

maybe we're a bit backward in Scotland on the whole naming thing

CaptainCaveman · 15/07/2008 19:50

As ever dizzy you impress me with you naming lists

chacha your poor thing in pain . When someone says "oh well, not long now" it really doesn't help does it!?!

bealcain it really does sound like this might be it now! How exciting! My bets are on you to produce our first Aug thread baby.

ts you are quiet today - how did your appt go?

Baby bag is now packed:

nappies
vests
babygros
socks
romper suits
cotton wool

apart from vaseline, am I missing anything?

My bag is nearly packed - apart from pants and clothes . So far I'm restricted to wearing one pair of pjs for my stay unless I get my act together!!

pjs
maternity bricks towels
breast pads
shampoo & shower gel & wash thing
toothbrush & paste
moisturiser

Still need:
undies
clothes
nursing bras
camera with charged battery

Dh just leaned over my shoulder and said "nuttersnet? who cares what goes in your bag" Pah. Men. so little do they know....

CaptainCaveman · 15/07/2008 19:53

I love Tilly, lily and tegan - one of my bfs has a Tegan Lily. I like Milli too. In fact names that rhyme with silly.....

dizzydixies · 15/07/2008 19:56

CC did you manage to get your quinny? I don't remember sorry

dh actually asked me to get my hosp bag sorted - think he's realising its all a bit close!!

on a nicer note though he also told me that he finishes work on the 27th July so we have a few days to get anything that needs done out of the way

ataraxis Tana or Tara?

oopsacoconut · 15/07/2008 20:03

Evenin All

Pleased to see everyone feeling more chirpy today.

CC - a cotton hat? or bubs will end up with a tubigrip hat!

Dizzy - pleased Mamadixie is settled. Did you swallow a baby name book?? If we didn't already have a name you would be our first port of call. Exciting news on the baby front - now you can start the countdown!!

HEllO everyone else struggling to keep up with you all whilst i'm at work all day.

Baby has found a pickaxe and is digging her way out! obviously the spade wasn't working. Had 2 hours of agonising contractions had to stop every 8 mins on the way home to cope - when i got home had a warm bath and 2 paracetamol seems to calmed thepain to mild but not gone. Was goingto call m/wife but she probably won't call back! Seeing someone tomorrow morning so will just wait until then. DH coming to appointment to give them a piece if his mind about lack of response even just to check if i was okay and did i need anything.

ataraxis · 15/07/2008 20:30

bealcain · 15/07/2008 20:33

Shazza2002 · 15/07/2008 20:47

Evening ladies

Have been so bad at posting, I thought once I was on maternity leave I would have more time, but just goes to proove that I actually did sod all at work

Glad that your mums comfortable dizzy Make sure you look after yourself aswell

CC It was me who got the digital camera from work, although at the moment I'm about to throw it out the window as keeps saying memory full and I've only taken 4 bloody pictures. Sods law I can't call the aftersales service until tomorrow grrrrr

I've been reading the 'Due July thread'. Loads of babies arriving, makes me a little jealous, although I know I should appreciate this time, but pelvis is really hurting and makes walking/trying to sleep really difficult, so think at least if baby was here, I may be tired but at least I could walk.

Sorry, enough about me. Hope everybody else is ok x
