This is it!! Some of us have already started the descent into new BABYDOM. Best to arm ourselves with the facts. Here you will find the Signs of Labor. Just don't panic. Remember women around the world have been giving birth for ages. You are not alone nor will you be alone throughout this entire process. We are all here for each other no matter what. Evening all,
I've had a fabulous w/e- took Friday off which was great & now feel v refreshed. Have 3 more 4 day weeks plus an additional Monday and then I'm on ML/holiday.
Friday was great - started with the world's cutest nappies being delivered (so soft and so small and then met up with Miamla and Albs, swiftly followed by a friend arriving with a car full of goodies for us (seriously spoilt - moses basket, bounce chair, swing chair, bumbo, play mat, tonnes of feeding stuff 'just in case' - pumps, sterilisers, bottles, warmers, coolers etc, sacks and sacks of clothes, muslins, bibs, bedding, toys etc). Finally got round to ordering the last minute bits and bobs for my hospital bag (which obv isn't packed yet). So excited!
However, bean has been a real pain today - not sure if 34 weeks is the equivlent of the terrible 2s, but I've been having horrid BH and then she's found 101 ways of causing me pain too!
Grrr - DH is coming to steal the laptop from me. I hope everyone has had a fab w/e too & welcome to all the newcomers

Shazza2002 · 06/07/2008 20:30

Evening ladies

Haven't been posting much but have been trying to catch up.

Packed hospital bag today, all that needs to go in is some knicker bricks as Oops calls them and clothes for coming home in.

It's suddenly becoming very real now.

Last day at work on Thursday, will be so relieved. Can hardly walk at moment as manage to do the splits in the bathroom the other morning, last time my legs were that far apart was about 8 months ago

gigglegirl · 06/07/2008 20:46

if this tennis doesn't finish soon I will have had a heart attack never mind gone into labour!

Ordering kids borthday pressies at the momment plus some min aquadraw mats and the album I mentioned the other day to stop sibling rivalry and keep a record of the baby have now find it without the camera at a much cheaper price here they have a little brother one too!

CaptainCaveman · 06/07/2008 20:52

lol at your splits Shazza! I think we were all doing the 'splits' about 8 months ago

giggle thanks for that advice, and for that link - I think I will buy one of those little albums for ds to make. Great idea too to not use the baby as an excuse NOT to do something. My friend who also has 2 ds' found that when feeding ds2 her ds1 would misbehave dreadfully, because he knew she couldn't move!

I'm with you all on wanting the bean to cook for longer, despite the uncomfortableness of it all! 34 weeks today and like you chacha I see the cons on Thurs for another scan and discussion re. delivery. Seeing as ds2 has now been breech in the exact same spot for at least 14 weeks, my hopes of him turning are fading.

Welcome home dizzy and welcome in ma100 and babieseverywhere. ts can you update ds age when you get a sec - he is now 4.2

PetitFilou1 · 06/07/2008 20:54

Hello all
Back from Bournemouth in the rain - as predicted. Was lovely to see all five children on the beach having a great time until the petitist pf got attacked by a large wave and soaked to the skin (bit scary that) - but she was ok as my friend hoiked her out. I was a bit slow getting there!

Friend of mine in Bath had a VBAC yesterday (four hours door to door and almost had him in the ambulance) - she's really chuffed to have had a natural birth this time but says she feels like 'she's been to the gym and then been out clubbing all night' lol So it can be done

Pretty sure lo is feet down not head down - if so can everyone send me turning round vibes please or my homebirth will be a bit scuppered... Will check in tomorrow and less of the scary 80s music talk please

oopsacoconut · 06/07/2008 21:01

PF where are you? I am due to have our bubba in Bath too - would love to have an idea of what it was like. Or did you mean in the Bath Why do I live in a place with such a stupid name!?!

PetitFilou1 · 06/07/2008 21:04

Yes was Bath the place but sorry don't know the hospital - think it was pretty irrelevant as lo was almost out by the time she got there! I will find out for you though.

Afternoon ladies. Spirits are a bit better now. Mild pains seems to have stopped now only replaced by BHs which I can managed. Have just scarfed down a homemade burrito so I feel like an almost new woman.

Captain, got your update loaded ready for next post. Just waiting to see if MA100 offers her stats....

for Petitfilou
for Petitfilou
who else wants some?????

I have enough burrito makings for everyone on the thread to have at least THREE HUGE ones. YUMM!!! {{{Twilight passes the platter around the thread}}}

oopsacoconut · 06/07/2008 21:36

mmm burritos haven't had one in ages - would anyone like some roasty chicken and veg. I will gladly swap. Eaten far too much today now i feel ill. DH making tea and fetching fruit cake and lemon swiss roll.

I nearly had this baby at the end of the tennis - what a game. I was bouncing on ball and could have popped it in bouncing excitement.

gigglegirl · 06/07/2008 21:41

Phew tennis over, I can breath! ok so have ordered and paid for all kids pressies - aquadraw - cinderella and thomas varieties, a jigsaw and a bike!s Plus the record book and some mini aqua draw mats for when the baby arrives. Now onto things for me and then things I have to have, all variety of pads etc......

maternity bras first - lost quite alot of weight before getting pregnant with this one (although only down to the size of a coach rather than a double decker!) so need new bras. SPD, work and location prevent me from going somewhere to get measured - anyone successfully done it themselves?

I think I'm the only one up again

longwayfromhome · 07/07/2008 02:28

Hi AnnVann! It's 10.30pm here so I'm still up but I'm just off to bed, I hope that you can get back to sleep soon.

longwayfromhome · 07/07/2008 02:29

PS try a glass of fizzy water and BBC radio 5 live (or the world service)

Expectant · 07/07/2008 02:29

Morning all - in case any of you are still up.

Thought I would have to post to get on the new thread.

TS thanks for the update with the time differences.

Had a tiring weekend after bbq that went on to 3am on Saturday followed by a full english yesterday that went on to 5pm. Seem to have been eating sausages all weekend as a consequence!

longwayfromhome · 07/07/2008 02:30

PPS but not radio 4 as you have to think too much when you listen and you'll be wide awake before you know it.

longwayfromhome · 07/07/2008 02:31

Hi Expectant!

AnnVan · 07/07/2008 02:46

Thanks LWFH! sleep well then! Expectant, where are you?

Expectant · 07/07/2008 03:43

Hi Both,

I'm in Singapore so it's 10.42 in the morning here. I'm at work

TwilightSurfer · 07/07/2008 07:46

And from another part of the world:
Up in the USofA at 2:30am.
Morning All!!
Fell asleep before bring the boys in (my outdoor cats). Woke to cat cries. Have tucked two nicely into the garage but one is still out catting around or sleeping in someone else's garage.

Feeling a bit better honestly except for the belly elephantitis syndrome.

Odd dreams plague me. Over the weekend I dreamed Longway, ALBS and Ataraxis were already at my hospital in labor when I went into to labor. Somehow we managed to find each other and gathered around my laptop to chat with all the rest of our thread members while our labors progressed. See how odd is that...

I hope everyone had a nice rest last night. And Expectant, I hope you find time to relax from your extremely busy weekend on this crazy Monday...don't work to hard.
