This is it!! Some of us have already started the descent into new BABYDOM. Best to arm ourselves with the facts. Here you will find the Signs of Labor. Just don't panic. Remember women around the world have been giving birth for ages. You are not alone nor will you be alone throughout this entire process. We are all here for each other no matter what. So let us go forward with heads high and bellies low.

This little quiz might also be helpful. Remember we are in this TOGETHER!!

nope totally english - total coincedence. DD1 we started trying as soon as we got married DS2 was a total shock and this one I had the mirena coil in and hated it - made me ill - we decided we would give it a year and see what happened and happened straight away - could be to do with how much better i felt w/out the coil in! Headache we have to think about now is how to not have number 5 as I really don't want to do this again!

what is going on with my computer AGAIN!! aaaarrrrggggghhhhhhh - woouldn't mind but it's new!

ChaCha · 11/07/2008 20:45

So glad i asked - think my decision is now made
Sazzles - Lovely friends, is good to have that back up. My mum wouldn't be able to take the DC alone as she doesn't keep well but her OH who is also her carer is a fantastic help. He cooks, cleans and looks after everyone - he's one in a million and without him it would be a totally different story. My dad lives abroad and is a bachelor now v.set in his ways. My ILs have a 17 year old grandson, a 1 and 2 year old are a lot of hard work for them now and they are in down in Wales - not exactly a phone call away. I remember the dilemma of who was going to look after DS last year when mum wasn't well but as someone mentioned before on here, these things somehow just manage to fall into place.

Anniversary treat sounds lovely GG - oooooohhhh at spa and pool Our anniversary and DH's b'day end of July - will be good if i actually get out to get him anything!!!

PF - Glad your DH is around and helping. My DH has been working out of town until 6 and then had his osteopath, came home for about 15mins (armed with flowers that he had delivered in morning that had been sat at front door in rain - i didn't hear the door)and was then stalked by friend who is still chatting with him until now (they've been over an hour but am happy to report DS2 is bathed and lying next to me fast asleep while DS1 is all bathed and in lovely pj's watching Kipper - we got through the day hurray! Sticking kids in bath no matter how hard is worth it when you can sit and read a mag for a good 20mins while sat by them

DH can make dinner as punishment for negligence!! Starving.

CaptainCaveman · 11/07/2008 20:56

Evening ladies - I'm joining the doomy gloomy corner because I'm feeling miserable for no good reason (apart from pg hormones). Still, my sarcasm and anger wasn't wasted, as at least it did at least encourage dh to change the duvet cover and put the clean sheet on the bed .

Can't remember who mentioned it - ? sazzles - yes the cons has given me an early date! yippee. He is working on the due date that they have on their system which is 14th Aug, and has booked the cs for a week before - he chose the 6th . Very nice man . So, given his dates I am 35+1 today, with fat feet, fat toes, a bloody PAINFUL umbilical area and rib pain too.

CaptainCaveman · 11/07/2008 20:57

Sazz, 5 1/2 lb at 36 weeks is GOOD! Ds was 5lb 7oz at 39+1. This one however, is currently 5lb 3oz with 26 days to go (who's counting )

I'm just uploading new photos onto facebook - there is a complete stunner on there....

poppysocks · 11/07/2008 21:28

Sorry to hear what a tough time so many people are having. Hope the weekend brings a better time and more help from everyone's DH/Ps.

We're screwing up our wedding anniversary too - 27th Aug. Suspect that DH's b'day won't be up to much either a fortnight later. Have managed to get his b'day present sorted though, so that'll be one less to think about afterwards.

Hello All

NOVEL LENGTH POST WARNING

HAd an interesting afternoon. Bubs was very quiet all day and only flet her once this morning even though she tends to dance after breakfast. By lunch was little concerned went to loo had more jelly streaky gloop. Rang DH saying sure nothings wrong but she's quiet today. He rang M/wife as i was out and about with kids birthday shopping. Left message at 1 but no reply at all so i rang delivery suite to ask if i needed to worry - they said - come in here and NOW. So i rang DH to collect me from work and rang work to say dropping off kids but not staying, set off mild panic in the process. Drove home in worried tears trying to hide it from kids. Delivery suite AMAZING. Went in they had side room for me, got told off for not having my notes, they measured me 4/5ths engaged, checked HB and she promptly kicked the doppler I apologised for time wasting and was told not to be stupid thats what they were there for. The hooked me up to CTG machine and left me for 1 1/2 hours told them I'd been having BH regularly but she passed it off. When they turned machine off and took the sheet she said baby very happy and not stressed. She they came back and said 'are you contracting?' as normal was my reply, she went pale and rushed off. She came back having seen registrar and said contractions every 7-10 mins can you feel them? YES of course i can. She ran off again leaving me confused and stressed. Reg came in and said i could go home if i promised to rest and came in if things got more painful/regular or anymore show. I have never dressed so fast!!! and was out of there in a flash. DH now being mother hen and am sitting eating mash and watching recorded superstars.

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2008 21:43

So did everyone on this thread have a summer wedding??

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 11/07/2008 21:43

Hi guys. A touch of gloom hangs over the thread at the mo? Not sure I can improve things much.

Saw doc this morning, in and out in ten mins, nothing to report, not interested in my moans and groans! "It can all be expected at this stage." I suppose he's right really but am a bit fed up at the mo, just want it over with.

For dinner have eaten pot of hummus with carrots and celery and five Babybels... rummaging in vain for a tiny piece of choc to smear over my tongue but nothing around.

Lunch tomorrow with girl friends and my mother, will be lurvely, it tweren't for that I'd be quaffing a big goblet of wine but I think I'll save my ration for tomorrow.

VintageGardenia · 11/07/2008 21:44

Sorry took me so long typing with one eye on the Two Ronnies (yes...!) that many other posts intervened.

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2008 21:46

Also trying to remember who questioned the thread title??? How many of us now have had pre-labor twinges??? How many have gone to be formally checked?? Ahem... summer babies bake faster than winter babies Ours are ready to get out their ovens!!

OP posts:
VintageGardenia · 11/07/2008 21:47

Oops my goodness. Sounds very dramatic. Are you still working - can you stop early? Like not go back on Monday?

oopsacoconut · 11/07/2008 21:53

Thanks everyone - hopefully she will stay put and things will tail off during the night.

VG Still working for another 2 weeks - I cant afford to take the time off any earlier I need my leave money at full rate not at sick pay rate. Back on Monday - hopefully they will take the I need to take it easy hint now!

TS No we were married on the 28th Feb so DH would have no reason to forget it! HAve you thought of a new title yet??

Buckets · 11/07/2008 21:58

Annva, if you're low risk, homebirth is worth asking about. Theoretically, you're more relaxed which lets the endorphins (natural painkillers) and oxytocin (natural contraction triggers) flow so less chance of intervention anyway. If anything did start to go wrong you'd get your ambulance too!

My DD was born on our 3rd wedding anniversary! About the same time as I was nearly passed out with my head on a table, 3yrs later I was out cold under general anaesthtic!

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2008 22:10

Oops, I'm thinking our next thread title might be....
Due Aug 08 - 12JUL to 20JUL

LOL

OP posts:
oopsacoconut · 11/07/2008 22:14

Well TS you only have 101 posts to think about it - which on this board couldbe in the next 5 mins!!!

TwilightSurfer · 11/07/2008 22:22

Title could also read...

Due Aug 08 - If in doubt, get checked out...

But that might be misunderstood.

Due Aug 08 - Any Last Words Before LOs Arrive

or

Due Aug 08 - Can we reach 1000 posts in 5 day??
