This is it!! Some of us have already started the descent into new BABYDOM. Best to arm ourselves with the facts. Here you will find the Signs of Labor. Just don't panic. Remember women around the world have been giving birth for ages. You are not alone nor will you be alone throughout this entire process. We are all here for each other no matter what. or...
Due Aug 08 - can we fill a new thread before the first LO arrives...the race is on!

AnnVan · 11/07/2008 22:41

who is rganising the facebook thing? Are all welcome?? currently being mercilessly tickled by LO.
oops - fingers crossed for you.

ChaCha · 11/07/2008 22:56

OMG - Oooopssss.......exciting!!!! You enjoy the rest!

VG - nice lunch planned by sound of things.

Remind me...do hormones go mad at this stage? I have binned the beautiful bouquet just to spite my face as it were and have been just awful. I just wanted to say 'please leave all the toys and mess everywhere and make me something to eat/give me a hug/run me a bath' but it came out all wrong and i just got really cheesed off with his total ... what's the word.... oblivion?
Am also really annoyed that after i asked for my c-sec date to be kept secret that he still told MIL today 'because its her right and no big secret' yet i know that the only reason she's been bugging us for the date is because she's booked a holiday and conscious is playing up as day back is last day July and doesn't want to miss anything...but hey...just miss the helping hand and sympathy for last 9 months. Sorry, rant over AIBU?

I need to get a grip dont i...farking SPD and hormones. Am usually v.calm person...grrr!

oopsacoconut · 12/07/2008 07:34

Hugs ChaCHa You are not being unreasonable - you are pregnant!!!

Well after last night's excitement things seems to have slowed down slightly. Contractions now less painful and getting to 15mins apart so it looks like a false start. Small girl also now sticking be rear end out under my left rib and I looks really daft BUt she is okay and NOT going to arrive soon so am a little more relaxed.

On a totally differnet note - RAF Fairford cancelled today so DH and my dad gutted, ao am I wanted to see how this one enjoyed the noise.

HAve a good day - going to supervise my Coffee shop today from a lazy boy the guys have put in a corner.

bealcain · 12/07/2008 07:50

good morning all. i'm sorry to have abandoned you for most of this thread
ds1 with chicken pox wont leave my side for anything, thank god i can sling him with me round the house.

ChaCha bl**dy MILs. you're not being unreasoable at all, especially considering you said don't tell anyone!!

TS looks like we've got a competitor in oops Glad it's settled abit this morning oops a warm bath can really help too.

Have been really tired this week, can't wait for LO to arrive just so i'll have an excuse to sleep and i won't look like a complete idiot if i go to bed at 8.30pm every night.

As yet still no date for induction here Dr said tis pointless saying that they'll definately do it at 38, because the head, although low, it's engaged (what the fk does she expect it's my third??? ) So got appt. in 2weeks and a decision will hopefully be made then. Had my scan, all well. Got a great piccy of face, except it really hurt to get it as she was right in my pelvis. Asked them to check sex again a always weary and to say it fking hurt is an understatement. Her bum is tucked so far up in my rib cage that i was literally gasping for breath. Still i asked, tis my own fault!!

CC You feeling any better today?

VG hope you feel better today too.

sorry for mammoth post, but you ladies will talk.....on the side my wedding was 2nd Feb, this year!!!!

oopsacoconut · 12/07/2008 07:53

-Now sticking HER rear end-

-so am I as I wanted to see-

no ability to type today!

Buckets · 12/07/2008 09:10

Chacha - it's not her right, it's her privilege!

My little feller doesn't seem that big to me at this stage (at least not as bit as his 9lb brother) - his bum still hasn't interfered with my ribs or diaphragm and bobs about from right to left above my navel. His feet though are always far right so I'm thinking he has Grandma's long legs and not his brother's long back.

gigglegirl · 12/07/2008 09:17

morning ladies - sorry I diappeared last night - laptop was playing silly buggers and then DS2 half woke crying and it took all my energy to go to him and then somehow I managed to get him into our room where he slept fitfully whilst I reassured him until DH got in at midnight and carried him back to bed.

chacha you are perfectly reasonable - my MIL is a nightmare - everything is about her - when we got engaged she was firious as she was the last to know and grumbled all day (it was Christmas Day), so when I got pregnant with DD1 we told her first but asked her not to tell anyone - we then went to London for weekend and came back and EVRYONE in her village new. Silly examlpes of how she annoys me but they get really bad too! One of the best was before we got married (think we were engaged - def living together) we were all goig for a drink in the pub on a summer evening, I was walking next to her and there was a chalkboard advertising a singles night for all ages outside her local. MIL has been married and divorced 3 times. She said oh shall we go to that, so I said I would go with her to keep her company - she said oh no I meant for you - you might find someone decent to be with - I WAS WITH HER SON FOR GOODNESS SAKE. THis pregnancy she has been no use and if she ever does come round to help all she does is moans and criticises... still she gave birth to the man I love muct focus on that rather than the overwhelming negative! (oh and obviously it was the hardest most traumatic birth EVER)

SKYTVADDICT · 12/07/2008 10:51

Morning all

Just popping to to say hello. 36 weeks today. LO will be born by c/s 3 weeks on Monday if it doesn't put in a natual appearance before then (which I am hoping it will!). Just been putting together stuff for hospital bag - its huge already!

Really tired at mo - DS (14 months) has been teething, he and DD2 (8) have had C Pox, DD2 has had ear infection which is still weeping. DS having his MMR on Monday all being well so hoping he won't have any ill effects (my Mum not keen to be looking after him while I am in hospital if he isn't well!).

All good fun - never mind school breaks up soon so won't have school run to do or Brownines and Swimming so can hopefully relax a bit more.

SKYTVADDICT · 12/07/2008 10:52

Sorry for all the spelling errors - apparently I can't type any more! Must be pregnancy brain

ChaCha · 12/07/2008 11:47

Morning ladies,

I promise not to grumble today DH has cancelled all his plans and is staying home to look after us, hurray!

SKYaddict - We are scheduled for the same day then Feel exactly as you do and hope it is earlier simply because of the pain am in - btw my DS1 was 14mths when his little brother was born last year - is a lovely age. Hope all better asap.

GG - Again, glad to not be the only one - found myself nodding head at your post but as you said at the end, better to focus on the good at times - certainly keeps stress levels down

Hello to Buckets and Bealcain x

CaptainCaveman · 12/07/2008 12:04

Happy Saturday ladies I'm trying to be cheerful despite 6.15 start with ds . Have managed to doze for 2 hours since then but man I feel sick today. And I have a headache. It just isn't like me to be this blardy miserable. Oh, and the people who were interested in our house have decided to buy another instead. Ho hum.

What can I do to cheer myself up that doesn't involve eating?

On the in-laws front, mine live 120 miles away and are generally none-interfering and lovely. Don't see them very often tbh but they do care, even if they don't see their grandson very often.

annvan all are welcome to join facebook. If you email me at [email protected] I'll tell you how to find us!

cyteen · 12/07/2008 12:49

Heh, another thread races to its close Nervous chatter, anyone?

oops how very exciting, although I appreciate probably quite stressful for you at the time...I really thought I was going to be scrolling down to read the news of the first official August Ladies birth. Make sure you get extra pampered by your other half today girlie

Sympathies to all those suffering physically and emotionally...it is hard going by this point, isn't it? I know I've been so lucky to have such an easy pregnancy compared to some, but even I'm starting to feel the strain a bit now...legs always achy, especially in the mornings, bump strain pretty constant, comedy egg-on-legs silhouette rapidly losing its appeal. Never mind eh, we are REALLY NEARLY THERE.

Baby spent all day going crazy again yesterday, twas very sweet and quite painful at times. We were supposed to be going to Birmingham for the first night of this noise+drone rock festival, but DP had an awful day at work and I didn't feel all that so we stayed in and watched a brilliant DVD instead - the first part of the remade Battlestar Galactica. Had an ace lie in till nearly midday today, so all in all I'm feeling reasonably spry

Hope you all have wonderful Saturdays! Am off to Brum in a bit so will check for a new thread when I get back tomorrow

TwilightSurfer · 12/07/2008 14:05

ARRGGHHH! morning {{twilight appears with hair in every direction but south}}

Sky, so good to see you.

This baby is going to rip me open before it's all said and done. She's not officially in a WTF position. Was up half the night on all fours trying to "give her room". What about my room? What about my needs?

Captain, {{hugs}} I don't feel so bloody well today myself.

I've got a special treat ready at the start of the new thread. Anyone with updates, feel free to post them today and I'll add them to the stats.

Oh and as for the hair I'm sporting this morning...hairdresser appointmet at noon...she can figure it out.

Buckets · 12/07/2008 14:26

My DH has asked me to come on and tell you what a wonderful grocery shop he did this morning, full of delicious things and bargains too. This is after each item was ceremoniously presented for my applause and admiration approval as it got put away.
Lazy day today, I took the kids to the park this am and we are pottering about the house reading the paper while DD is at a party round the corner. I am on a promise of my 2 favourite things tonight - Indian takeaway and sex. Life is sweet.

Do you know I can't believe that a) we didn't have any twins in our little August club and b) that nobody has popped yet!

CC - bit of chicklit to take you away from it all?
