just tried it - dipped litle finger in bottle - contents of bottle in BIN it was revolting give me gaviscon anyday.

Being forced to watch Only Fools and Horses by DH might have to go to bed.

VintageGardenia · 04/07/2008 22:59

I think Come on Eileen might do it for me on labour day. OR perhaps Love Will Tear Us Apart...

Hmmm!!!

VintageGardenia · 04/07/2008 23:01

Oh dear, Sazzles, the sight and sound of me singing I'm Your Venus might just drive DP over the edge in the delivery room!

Oops Dellboy and Rodney are fab!

Going to crawl into bed myself I think.

oopsacoconut · 04/07/2008 23:03

VG - I think I just don't understand it properly which is why it irritates me (being foreign and all)

Night night all sleep tight and have good restful weekends.

TwilightSurfer · 05/07/2008 01:17

WTF {{{sniff}}} who left this bottle and what's in it??

I am so glad I put on my head phones before I started reading tonight's chatter. STUCK IN THE 80's!!! I'm at this moment listening to FLO RIDA....ELEVATOR. I am so out of my element being 37 years old, propped up in bed with a thousand pillows and listening to club music while 34 weeks pregnant. SEXY SEXY SEXY

LOL Sorry I missed everyone earlier. Hopefully I'll catch all tomorrow. NIGHT

Morning ladies,

Hope you are all wellish. Woke to rain and cloudy sky but is now sunny and the DC are on their bikes in the garden with DH home hurray!

LOL at 80's music - funny because i was on You Tube watching some old videos and having a real giggle - remember Kajagoogoo? And did have a good sing along to Wishing I Was Lucky and some Simple Minds stuff.

VG - 25 quid on itunes!! If you fancy a blast from the past again give me a list and will cut onto CD for you.

Got to bed finally at 11.30pm and slept through most of the night, codeine did make me very sick and dizzy though. SPD also not great here, support belt helping as are crutches but now have the added beauty of horrid piles - 'things can only get better....tra la la'

Hoping you all have a good Saturday x

VintageGardenia · 05/07/2008 12:26

Thanks ChaCha wish I had had that offer before I blew all my pocket money on Human League singles, etc!

Was stormy, stormy night last night but seems to be calmish and at least dry today so I might do a little expedition with DS. Or perhaps I will lie on the sofa and plan a little expedition for tomorrow...

V little energy, not sure why as I had my first good night's sleep in ages. Knuckles are stiff today, feel approx 107 yrs old. Changed bedlinen and felt was about to expire! Roll on labour day. From here it looks like a portal to the new world & the old/new me.

AnnVan · 05/07/2008 13:27

Hi all. had very random sick attack today. I had just finished eating my toast when suddenly no warning up came everything. I didn't even feel sick! ANy ideas why this mighthave happened?? DP rekons maybe I was kicked in the stomach

Buckets · 05/07/2008 13:41

Hope everyone starts to feel better soon.
We tried to do DS's Disability form together last night and I burst into tears on the 1st page so DH sent me away and is slowly working his way through it. I realised that I've basically kept a diary of my feelings about DS's Aspergers via Mumsnet SN board (and this one!) so I've just been going through all my posts this year and pasting stuff into a Word doc. Thought I might turn it into a series of mini articles for my local NCT newsletter or somewhere.

Oh and if anyone needs more happy music, you can't go wrong with ABC and I Want You Back by the Jackson 5.

VG - my BIL used to sing 'Guilty as a cocoa bean' to that other Bananarama song (Love in the 1st degree) until loudly corrected by my sister at a youth club (they were childhood sweethearts, bless 'em).

cyteen · 05/07/2008 16:17

Gutted I missed the 80s disco last night! That'll learn me for having a social life DP bought a copy of this marvellous gem a while back, and I can heartily recommend it for livening up long boring motorway journeys, spring cleaning marathons and other tedious tasks.

Buckets fortitude for the DLA form. The little I know of them suggests that the whole process is stupidly complex and invariably stressful, so I hope you can get it sorted quickly. Just know that you're doing the best for your son and being the best mum to him...the articles idea sounds a good one too.

VG in answer to your question, my dad seems remarkably calm and together about it all. His relationship with his dad has been a major source of stress, disappointment and anger all his life, and so he has very little grief to speak of; I know he feels sad at a life so wasted, but in a strange way I think my grandad's death is helping dad to work through his feelings about my brother's death, and that can only be a good thing as I've been very worried about whether he was really dealing with that at all.

I've said I will go down on Monday to spend some time with him, and this went down well

Had quite an active day yesterday, vacuuming, washing, clearing up sorting out...today I feel like I'm walking around asleep. Have had BH on and off all day, they don't half make you feel weird. Also my legs feel strange and crampy, not proper cramp but like they can't relax - almost like I'm feeling the BH in my legs? Bizarre. Fortunately I haven't progressed to fullblown restless leg yet, I used to get that a lot as a teen and it drove me mental.

CaptainCaveman · 05/07/2008 17:33

Ds is being extra clingy today - won't leave my side. Everywhere I go, he has to follow. I've lost count of the number of times I've said 'no, I can't pick you up' or 'go and ask daddy to help'. He is currently playing in a pile of stuff which is for the baby, wrapping himself up in blankets etc. I'm sure its because he needs to feel secure about the impending arrival, but gaaaaaahhhhhh give me some space and go annoy your father!!!!!!!
Thats better. x

TwilightSurfer · 05/07/2008 17:47

DD just hopped in DH's car for a trip to the car wash. YEAH!! Captain, mines been like yours lately. Her need to be with me 24/7 is becoming a bit much.

Aden+Adais muslin blankets arrived this morning. OMG they are incredible. Now I feel bad for not having them for DD. Plus they will make excellent quilt pieces later on.

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. Only 2 to 4 weeks left for me in this condition. Then I'll have to find something else to complain about on a daily basis.

One more little note: I finally took the quiz I posted and it told me my body is just starting to get ready for the big day. I wonder if my OB/GYN will say the same thing on Monday. {{fingers Xed}}

oopsacoconut · 05/07/2008 18:14

DH (soon to be EX) just came in carrying a new 40inch telly and surround sound system and tried to install it in my sitting room. He is now installing it in his office/playroom. When questioned why we needed such a new big and EXPENSIVE system he off handedly added 'to go with my new PS3' WTF thats £1000 today on boys toys! Because he was told by his best mate that he should enjoy these last few baby free weekends. But not to worry he'll take me out to dinner tonight!

So tomorrow me and the AMEX are going shopping and tonight me and the Goldcard are going online shopping. That should make me feel better.

TS it said the same for me - Baby has dropped like a stone today she is at least 2 inches lower than yesterday.

Buckets · 05/07/2008 18:19

Ooooh I would be livid! But then, from experience, he will probably get some use out of the PSP staying up rocking a baby back to sleep (surround sound off, natch.) My DH has fond memories of watching 8Mile and drinking whiskey, rocking DD with his feet after her late night feed.
But yeah, the giant tv is certainly overkill LOL.

Buckets · 05/07/2008 18:20

Oops, PS3 not PSP.

miamla · 05/07/2008 19:18

vg hmm was quite freaky meeting MNers in RL, especially because the conversations we have on here with each other seem to be far more open and honest than the conversations i have with some of my friends esp the ones re bodily functions etc! was lovely morning though, neither of them seem too strange! (dread to think what they're saying about me!)

sazzles why does she think you're calling her victoria? seems rather strange! or is she telling you to call baby victoria??

lol at the expensive purchases by the boys! mine bought a colour printer out of the "change" from my amazon vouchers from work! i'm pleased though, it'll be good to print stuff at home (used to do all mine and his printing at my office!)

we had our first night in our new bed and bedroom last night! was absolutely brilliant but we both kept waking up because we felt so far away from each other! it was lovely being able to have pillows all around me though

i had some really strong BHs this morning and not much movement from Pip. DP was so calm, got dressed, packed his bag and calmly told me to get dressed and that we'd pop up to the hospital. at that point Pip gave me an almighty thump! it would seem that baby didn't want to go to the hospital today! we then had a little trip round ikea to find 2 sets of chest of drawers (one for us, one for Pip) and some bedside cabinets. all found apart from our drawers because they're out of stock til next week but in true ikea fashion we need to pop back anyway to swap the bits that are damaged. am i just unlucky or does everyone have the same problem? i always seem to have to pop back to get damaged bits replaced

ooh and thanks to you girls from last night's chat, i know what i'm doing tomorrow...burning a cd with all my favourite cheesey songs. what a great idea to have it on during labour! there's no way i'm going to feel any pain whilst singing along to walking on sunshine

best wishes and non-restless legs to you all

gigglegirl · 05/07/2008 19:47

evening all!

just waiting for takeaway pizza with DH and DD1 - boys both sent to bed in disgrace as with two friends they coated their bedroom in the eczema cream! That was fun cleaning up!

Am going to attempt my marathon online shopping tonight but DH here so I might not make it!

hope well.

Oh and friend who has everything has dropped off set of crutches so I don't have to wait for Physio! How do you use them to help on stairs??
