OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

This is great, so many home births planned.

Cricri, Amby hammocks are the way forward

Good luck selling your clothes on ebay, I got lots from there for DS but you get such bargains I think it must be really annoying to sell them for so little!
We are emptying stuff out of the garage and ebay is looking good - the double bed is being picked up tonight and we've had enquiries about the dining room furniture and there are bids on another item and I'm so happy that we will be able to get in the garage soon!

Had a lovely weekend, DH enjoyed his run, DB was delighted that DSs first recognisable word was Nicnic - easy name to say I suppose! And we got to meet lackadaisycal and family which was lovely, I do like putting faces to names - looking forward to breastfeeding picnic next week now. Thats my book 'posted' too Dozy, I think the book club will keep going.

Got home late last night but DS slept till 7am so is forgiven for the night before!
My home birth is being put to a vote by the community team, they all have to be comfy with my decision not to have the antibiotics so its out of my hands atm, but at least its moving forwards, and I have a plan B if they're mean.

DS has got a place in local nursery for two sessions a week(I wanted mornings but he's got 1 am and 1 pm) so we start settling sessions soon, and I'm waiting for the lollipop lady to come round with new wraps to try - am I sad to be so excited about new nappies? But I'm hoping she doesn't stay too long as I need to walk into town and pick up a photo frame for the pictures the Brownies have drawn for Brown Owl who is leaving, and get DS lunch before tumble tots. It feels a lot like Monday today!

Think thats me caught up now, sorry for long and slightly rambling post. If I put the washing out will it make it rain?

PInkyminkyohnooo · 14/07/2008 10:55

hi all
I am supposed to be hoovering.. anyway great news on your little boy, serendipity! Lots of Luca's here in s.manchester, too. But both names are lovely- I prefer Dylan though.

DM I am sending my book to Autumnlady today, didn't get around to it at the weekend.

The festival was here in very sunny Manchester, in one of the large parks we have here and it was a lovely day out.

Good luck for your scan, Tegan.

Re kicks- glad you felt one, pinkali, they can be very funny.

This baby is very wriggly- all my babies are wriggly, I don't know if it's because I'm a funny shape in there. I did feel my other two much earlier thyan I felt this one.

I am quite certain that only feeling intermittent movement before 28 weeks is considered quite normal.

LolaBella · 14/07/2008 10:58

Congrats on your boy Serendippity - first boy in 68 years that is pretty impressive. I have a feeling your little boy is going to be spoiled

I seriously can't believe how mamy boys are going to be born in Nov on this thread. We should really get a tally going

Tegan good luck this afternoon. Hopefully a boy for you too then!!

PInkyminkyohnooo · 14/07/2008 11:04

Lola- don't forget there may be a few errors in those predicitons- though usually it's boys mistaken for girls...so maybe.. there was an absolute rash of boys around here when DS was born. There are traditionally lots more boys than girls in this area, for some reason.

I hope mine isn't wrong- or this baby is going to have to suffer a fair bit of newborn pink! I have a couple of friends this happened to- gilrs turning out to be boys..lol..

babylove123 · 14/07/2008 11:07

Hi Guys

Babylove Junior is having fun kicking their mummy this morning! Right in the bloody bladder of course! He/she went crazy on Fri night, was amazing - first time DP could feel it! I have an extra load of fat on my belly so i wont be getting the "ripples" ppl can see, lol so it was special that he could feel it. However he/she goes nuts when DP talks to it but quiet whenever he places his hand on my belly. Yet i talk to it and get nothing but it kicks when my hand is on my tummy. So strange - he/she must know the difference in the hands!!!!!! Weirdo, lol.

I got my baby bouncer from Ebay, it is great! I disinfected the stand and washed the cover and its come up amazing - all for £2.40! Bargain! We've got one of those mini swings for he/she to sit in too.

Tegan - good luck for the scan. Hope you had better luck than me! I counted down the days so i wouldnt have to say he/she and little bugger was in the wrong position and wouldnt move! We still dont know what it is! I feel bad calling him/her "it" but i confused friends by saying "they" and they thought it was twins! Argh, 1 week till my next scan, hope i will know by then and save my aching fingers! tegan, out of interest, where do you live? Its just the roadworks, where i am is the same problem - is that Gloucester?

Pink - Congrats on the kicks! Great news! They're cool arent they? Mind you, you wont be saying that when the monkey goes for your bladder! lol

Serendippity - congrats on a boy! All of you knowing just makes me more annoyed that i dont!

We went to Asda yesterday and i couldnt resist looking at the clothes, oh the cute little dresses but so many cute little boy shirts too - nothing for unisex! Argh! Bought myself some new bras instead, lol.

Have a good day

Yorky · 14/07/2008 11:18

Pinkyminky - was your festival in philips park? cos thats where DHs run finished!
MerryM how was your church picnic? I hope the weather was good, but not too much as we need it on Sunday for our church community outreach type festival - which I'm hoping we won't get too as hopefully we'll need to do a short notice up north again to meet my nephew. According to the MW if he was any more engaged he'd be hanging out!

Yorky · 14/07/2008 11:19

Oh babylove - bras, I was a 36B before DS, I've worn the same nursing bras since he was born - you can imagine how knackered they are! Went and got measured to treat myself as we don't need to buy as much baby stuff 40DD!!!

MerryMarigold · 14/07/2008 11:32

Yorky - picnic was good, but we were inside as outside was still wet...kids were out tho' and all ds managed to eat were some grapes as it was just TOO much fun running round with the big boys!

Dozy and Misdee - yeah out and about looks super, but is too big too. Ah well, I'd rather have a 16kg buggy than try and sell/ buy a house right now!

I'm having a much better day tham Saturday. Sun helps (yorky, I put washing out but it's still superly sunny!).

Am of book club and all the new books flying around. I have been stuck on a book for a while now. It is massive and rather depressing (A Fine Balance, set in India), but I read a nice easy read on hols which we found in the hol house (Boudica) to break it up a bit.

Off to get ds now. He cries if I am late! (ie. not the first Mum in).

Pinkali37 · 14/07/2008 11:43

Talking about bras.. I have only just realised that when I wear a t-shirt my boobs are trying to escape out the top of my bra.. THINKING SERIOUS BRA SHOPPING NEEDED AGAIN!!

Talking boys over girls, saw my dad on Sunday and he said that in his side of the family the first born had been a boy since 1681 and my sister buggered that up!!! That really made me laugh. Also my family (mums side) we just can not produce boys so I will have to see if Tarquin changes all that OR NOT... My sister is having a girl so she is going with the norm.

Pinkali37 · 14/07/2008 11:44

p.s. I started off about a 34 B/C I am now (well popping out of) a 36 D (possibly DD) YIKES plus they are resting on my tummy!!

twinklingfairy · 14/07/2008 12:21

Dozy I am still on for the bookclub but I think it will be tommorrow that I will be sending mine out, will have to retrieve it from my mum.
How much would you be looking for, for the 6-12 months of boys stuff?

Yorky I forgot to say, I got the CD's. Thank you I haven't listened to them yet though. Did you manage to get all three onto 2 discs?

Thanks everyone who asked after my health, I am doing ok today, no sickness, just a little heartburn but I am coping. I too really must get in touch with the pharmacy to organise a repeat prescription.

I don't think there is any mistake with our expecting a DS. The image was so clear, I don't see that, to quote the doc (and do it in an american accent), 'scrotum' disappearing back into the body.

vbab78 · 14/07/2008 12:44

BRAS - FED UP WITH IT!!! I was before DS 34D I think (?) then got measured long while after and was told I was an E by La Senza and F by M&S. The La Senza one's seemed ok in the shop and I thought the assistant knows what they are doing then after a couple of wears my boobs started coming out the top of the bra!

Got my 1st maternity bras from Mothercare about a month ago and was told I am a 34DD not F but lady gave me 36DD to give the band to grow with my bumpage.

Shortly again after buying the bras these bad boys keep wanting to pop out the top of the bra too. On the good side though I do have a nice cleveage and feel supported just popping out!

Does no body know how to measure correctly! These bra's aren't cheap either and I've not found many flattering ones in my size.

SORRY RANT OVER! Just need to get my stuff on ebay to pay for new bras.

vbab78 · 14/07/2008 12:47

Anyone else had slight boob leakage after "private" time with DH? I was so embarassed but also relieved that everything seems to be operational.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 14/07/2008 12:49

haha didn't mean to panic anyone about the gender thing! I think it depends how good a look the sosnographer takes ant the bits. I think it's usually boys mistaken for girls if there is any mistake.

the do was at Platt Fields Park, Yorky. It's in South Manchester.

Pinkali37 · 14/07/2008 12:49

Vbab - I have found the most comfortable bras (for me) are Marks and Spencers plain white ones with no underwire. They are about £9.00 each and are great!!

Pinkali37 · 14/07/2008 12:51

To be fair I do keep checking the boob leakage situation but NOPE haven't had anything (YET)

PInkyminkyohnooo · 14/07/2008 12:51

Twinkikling- you know you are posting to me again, don't you We don't know wheere Creena is

twinklingfairy · 14/07/2008 13:25

On No, I did not realise who I was posting too and I now don't have your address anymore, pinky.
Can you send it to me at miriampain at yahoo dot com.

twinklingfairy · 14/07/2008 13:29

'private time' with DH?! Mine is still out of luck on that one
Anyone else just not up for it?
I was the same with DD, I think we only managed about once or twice. Then had problems after birth so it was prob only about three times in a year for him. Looks like set to be the same.
I do feel sorry for him, after all I was on him like a mad thing to get pregnant, soon as I am, nothing doing poor guy.
Someone tell me I am not alone!

private time - Me and DH haven't for ages (i felt guilty) but since our anniversary away a couple of weeks ago I have been trying to make an effort when I'm not exhausted.

I've finally got it in my head that DH still finds me attractive no matter how I may feel. Also I have found that I feel quite good and stress free after. So good for everyone I guess.

Long may it continue .

With DS we only bothered (a lot) after I went overdue and thought damn look what we have missed out on. But before EDD I couldnt face it.

PInkyminkyohnooo · 14/07/2008 13:39

no Twinkling, you are not alone! We don't have a great deal of that, either! DH has also been slightly alarmed at the speed with which we have conceived the last two, it took nearly two years for DS!

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 13:46

Private time??!! the most we do is kiss and cuddle for fear of knocking on babies door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! do you remember my story from very very early on???

have posted my book today but made a HUGE boo boo as sent it in a recycled package but forgot to put new stamps on

so twinkling, you may or may not recieve it depending on the efficiency of the PO at checking....let me know if you ahven't by friday and I will buy a new book - Deception Point, Dan Brown it was...soooo embarassed by that one.....especially as I was feeling all smug about recycling the envelope!

Am now eating kettle crips and dorito salsa dip - yum!

dm XXX

bubbaz · 14/07/2008 13:50

Twinkling You are not alone my poor DH is suffering too. Nothing whilst pg with DS and for a good year after, then nothing much then got pg again immediately (As DH quotes to people 'I only got 3 bloody goes'!!) bless him. I felt like a complete freak for a good while cause all my mates seem to have gone the oposite way!
Twinkling glad you are feeling better today hope it continues.
Has anyone else got really sore nipples ~(sorry TMI ) I feel like someone is cutting me with glass but only on 1 side it actually makes me shout in pain?

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 13:58

actually Bubbaz my nipples have been very sensitive for the past few days, especially in the shower, I literally can't put the shower on them!!
