Hi all, been a while since I was on so have completely lost touch with where you all are.

I had a really bad day yesterday, completely floored, spent the day in bed and basically had a 24hr famine. DH was then floored from 4pm ( I was up at 3am!) so I don't know if we can really blame it on MS anymore DD also had a really awful expolding nappy, her very first exploding one, so it was pretty gruesome when we both felt so awful.
Feeling much better today though, though I reckon the heartburn is beginning to kick in with style and my lovely DH has finished my bottle of Gaviscon, it was a Huuage bottle too. How nice of him to take the lot. I feel embarassed to have to go back for more when, in honesty, I didn't use the first bottle at all!

We also saw the MW on Saturday and had a lovely chat with her about trying for a natural birth she is right behind me, which is really reassuring, Yeah!
Also spoke to her about the dumb MW who upset me so much and asked that I do not have to deal with her again or they will get false results from my blood pressures. She said I was not the first, which I knew and that she would do her best to keep me away from her whilst not actually making it official. If too many people make the same request, she may put my name, and numerous others, to her manager who may contact us to find out what the problem is. Fair enough.

lol twinkling...tell the doc your DH is having phantom heartburn to keep you company . hope you are better soon. we had a bit of something here on Thursday; I felt sick and woozy and had really achey limbs and kidneys, but I felt right as rain on Friday. DD had a few exploding nappies but has been OK since.

I'm going to get some gavison tablets tomorrow. I just can not drink the liquid at all; it just makes me gag!

I've sold two more nappies....yay

twinklingfairy · 13/07/2008 23:23

I just fear that the tablets are too slow and if I don't get instant relief from the, admittedly foul tasting, liquid I end up being sick

You are right though, that is what I will tell the doc. DH quite often has sympathy pains, take yesterday for example He was fine until I took ill! haha.

LackaDAISYcal · 13/07/2008 23:44

I never found that much of a difference in relief between the tabs and the liquid tbh...especially if you crunch the tabs up.

lol at your DH....there was a thread on here the other day about competitive tiredness with your DH....mine is like that, but worse with illnesses. If my back hurts, his is worse. If I've a bad cold, he's got flu. The onlt thing he can't complain about is childbirth....at least I'd like to see him try and say he was in worse pain than me over that issue

right, so much for my early night! I'm off.

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 06:41

morning all - Hi twinkling, was wondering where you were......poor you first with the MS and now a bug...hope you all feel better soon....

BOOK CLUB what is happening?? i will send my book out today but does nobosy else want to continue???! Such a shame, I was loving it!!!

Think my baby is having a growth spurt in the womb...has been very quiet for a few days, and I have only felt the occasional flutter...should I be worried????? can't believe I am asking that when I am on 3rd PG! I jsut can't seem to remember much from previous 2 PG's!!!

Yesterday I was in the loft for hours sorting out the clothes - took FOREVER but have now got lots of very good bundles of baby boy sdtuff 0-6m, 6-12, and 1-2...

DH is going to give the 0-6m stuff to a friend of his at work who is very skint and will really appreciate it but as for the other stuff, think I will sell.....any idea on how best to do this? I would rather sell it in bundles as there is so much and to photograph and send everything individually would be a nightmare.....it is mainly Ralph Lauren, Mini Boden, Gymboree, Petit bateau, Next and Timberland so all good quality. could i sell without having to take photos???

Also, who was I duscussing swopping snowsuits with??? Have a gorgeous boy's gap suit that is in fantastic condition, looking to swop for similar condition but for a girl's one!!!

Hope everyone is feeling Ok today,,,,only a few more days of school left for those of us with kids!!

have a good day!

DM xx

bubbaz · 14/07/2008 08:05

Dozy I would recommend ebay to sell your bundles just spread them out and take 1 photo of the lot and then descrice what you have.
I too am posting my bookclub book today so you are not alone.
I've had a productive weekend also sorting baby clothes I def don't need any newborn so I can save my pennies for some gender specific stuff once baba arrives - I will still need boys stuff as DS was a summer baby!
Hope everyone had a good weekend!
Twinkling you have my sympathies on the heartburn on sat I didn't even want to eat it was so bad and that is not like me - Think I need a trip to the docs!

Oblomov · 14/07/2008 08:18

If Daisy is having a self imposed MN ban, I must too.
I am feeling good. We have had a lovely weekend. Our local 'Black Cherry Fair'. And it was the officially renamed 'Wardrobe weekend'. We sold our fitted wardrobes from the spare room, on ebay, hopefully being collected wednesday. We have another set delivered for our bedroom. And we drove to essex, visiting dh's mum, who is a total sweetie, at the same time, to pick up more wardrobes for the nursery. Then we unpacked them into the garage. Ds loved being in the van. Dh and I were cream crackered.
The plasterer comes on sat and the spare room, to be nursery, is still not totally stripped. Plus I must e-bay, e-bay, e-bay. Sell, sell, sell not buy-buy-buy.
because we have so much stuff and we can't move.
So I will be busy for the next 2 weeks, no MN for me.
Well maybe an occassional pop in

Sorry to hear that MerryM is so down. Hope you feel better soon.
Hello to Cricri, Barbareeba and Twinkling - hope twink, feels better soon.

Dozy, get those bundles on e-bay - list them as a bundle.
Hello to everyone else, that I haven't had a chance to mention. See you soon.

ChocOrange05 · 14/07/2008 08:41

Morning all, its monday so not quite as exciting as a friday but at least its sunny (in London anyway)!

Merry I grew up in Walthamstow till I was 9 thats why I was born in Whipps Cross. I am still basking in the glory days of E17.

Dozy I am still up for the book club so I will post my book (to Yorky I think) tomorrow.

I went to an NCT Nearly New sale on Saturday and gosh it was manic!! Only managed to spend about £5 but got a whole load of clothes and toys for that!

DH and I went to a home birth workshop at Epsom hospital yesterday and we have decided to go for it! Well, as far as you can plan these things anyway.

Have a good day all
from your Regular Eternal Optimist!!

tegan · 14/07/2008 09:21

Good morning ladies, i haven't been on for a while so this might be a long one.

I have my 20 wk scan this afternoon (am 21 wks ) so will know the sex by 2pm.
Everyone is adament i am having a boy this time.

I am definately having a home birth. The journey to my nearest maternity hospital had road works until xmas time (i'm due nov 23rd) so a 25min trip is taking 4 hours. Also a friend went to the same hospital last week in established labour and walked back out as there was no delivery rooms available and 2 ladies were having their babies in the corridoor.

dd2 has her last day of play group today before starting primary in sept so i am slightly nervous that my baby is growing up.

I think that is about it.

LolaBella · 14/07/2008 09:27

Dozymare i know what you mean about the lack of movement - what does it/could it mean?
Last week i was getting huge boots and since Fri night all i have had is mild flutterings. I can still feel him so trying not to worry but just not as much [hmmm]. I'm trying to convince myself he is running out of space so not having a run up to my uterus anyone with his foot

tegan · 14/07/2008 09:30

My babe has been the same since last friday. I think i have only felt movement 3 or 4 times but i'm not too worried as i can still see my shape changing when it moves even if i can't actually feel the movement

Pinkali37 · 14/07/2008 09:31

Good Morning Ladies (wow that was official), well I haven't been on since last Wednesday and I just can not catch up with everything, but I have noticed we have 2 new ladies so "HELLO" and welcome.

SO.... had scan last Wednesday and all was good so I decided to chill and start t enjoy this pregnany (I know... at last i hear you scream ) anyway, I was lying in bed on Wednesday night AND... Tarquin kicked me!!!!!!!!!!!!! OH MY GOODNESS s/he went for it. To the side and in the middle, and luckily DH was there to put his hand on my stomach and he also felt it. I can now feel Tarquin every day but not regularly yet or very hard. It was brilliant!!! Of course now when I giggle because I can feel it, DH runs over and puts his hand on my tummy but is it just my DH, but it feels like he's trying to push through my tummy so I have to tell him to be gentle... anyway, jsut wanted to share my first kicks with you!!! I'm so happy!!! xxx

serendippity · 14/07/2008 09:42

hello everyone! sorry i've not been around for a while, i am recovering from the shock that i am HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!!!!! I cannot believe it, was convinced he would be a girl as there hasn't been a boy born in my family for a whopping 68 years (my great uncle..who is gay!) I'm really pleased now, but dd was devestated and refused to tell anyone she's having a brother i think she's coming round now.
lola and dozy totaly know what you mean about movment. Some days i'm getting really enormous kicks and seeing movment on the outside as well and other days just little flutters. also I still don't feel him kick very much when i'm standing up, he's more active when i'm lying down. Like you I'm telling myself that it's all fine and nothing is wrong but it's definatly easier said than done. It's reassuring that you guys get this too tho
ceebee how'd your scan go? do you know your flavour? I know your scan was around about the same time as mine.
Everyone i need help with boy names! We are stumped. Completly. The only ones we kind of like are Dylan and Luca.

Oooh, guess what? We have booked a holiday to Lanzarote in September. We are sooo excited it our first holiday abroad in 7 years and dd's first time ever on a plane Has anyone else flown while 28 weeks pregnant? I know i have to get a doctors note saying i'm fit and healthy.

I promise i will be less slack and will be back to chat very soon!

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 10:08

serendip lola and tegan thank you for the reassurance!! I know it is "normal" but I can't help worrying that the movements aren't as strong......glad it is just not me!

Serendi how lovely to be having a boy after 68 years ....I like both Dylan and Luca for names but Luca is now very very common where we live (London) as DS has 3 in his class already!! Dylan is a lovely strong name and also has IMO an element of coolness about it (but maybe that's because I knew a Dylan who was soooooo cool!)

pinkali great news about feleing Tarquin kick!!!!!!!!!! It's magical when it happens for the first time and despite this being my 3rd pregnancy I think I am more in awe of the fact I am growing a baby this time around than I ever was with previous 2!

TEGAN Good luck for your scan, do you have a preference???!

Pinkali LOVE the sound of your music/food festival...where was it???

DM x

MerryMarigold · 14/07/2008 10:09

choc - were you really nine when E17 were about? I think I was at Uni!!!! So they were FAR to boyband-y for me .

pinkali - glad the kicks are going well and dh is so excited. that's really sweet... don't worry about him pushing too hard. You should have seen how the sonographer manhandled me at my last scan, pushing that poky plastic thing RIGHT into my tummy so it was nearly covered (and I don't have that much fat!) - and babies were not at all bothered, not even to slightly move! I am more relaxed about ds kicking me and hitting me (as long as it is accidental!), used to be paranoid and nappy changes were horrible.

dozy - good luck ebaying!

I am having a pram 'mare again. I thought I had decided but then another twin mum said the phil and ted's is VERY heavy, and it is 16kgs! (without babies!). There is one other one that fits through my door which is only 10.5 kgs called Baby City Jogger Mini (if anyone is interested...it looks good), but it does not have the pneumatic tyres and i really really, really wanted air tyres this time round. So...will have to compromise on weight or tyres. Still thinking but I do have 15 weeks to decide I suppose!!!

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 10:09

sorry....... wrong Pinky re food festival! Should be Pinkyminky

xxx

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 10:11

MERRYMARY Have you looked at Mountain Buggy's yet............or outlook..both excellent twin buggies and I have had both!

MerryMarigold · 14/07/2008 10:21

Mountain Buggy was too wide, only just but it won't fit through door . What's 'Outlook'? Is it a brand or a sub brand of MB?

misdee · 14/07/2008 10:22

air tyres add weight to buggies over solid tyres, but often give a smoother ride.

out and about double nip[per?

tegan · 14/07/2008 10:24

Dozy - i would prefer a boy as i have 2 girls but you get what you are given.

I only have a boys name and everyone seems to think it is a boy seeing as i am carrying differently, have had a totally different pregnancy and ave been really sick.

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 10:25

I'm getting my buggy paraphenalia mixed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As Miss Dee correctly points out, I mean the out and about nipper - the Outlook stuff is the lambswool liner that I put in my buggies!

Am going mad!! But yes the Nipper is good...

Dozymare · 14/07/2008 10:30

Tegan I have 2 boys and am having a girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! was majorly in shock as was expecting them to say another boy but of course desperate for a girl this time!! I have also had totally different pregnacy this time around so had an inkling anyway.........also was very sick with boys and not at all this time around (didn't even really feel pregnant in the early days!)

GOOD LUCK xxxx

misdee · 14/07/2008 10:36

Good luck for a good clear scan tegan.

I will have 4 dd's!
