Lets hope it's not too long before everyone is hatched and milking season is in full swing!

OK the other thing that helpoed with DD was to raise one end of the moses basket so her head was higher than her feet.

LauraT · 02/07/2008 09:18

sophie I promise we will be very considerate guests when we come in September some people have no consideration!

bun2 and allnew are conspicuous in their absence... could we have a couple more babies next time they log on?

sarahpo when are you being induced?

whinegums do you think our babies are ataying put because they are not fans of Glasgow weather? it looks more promising today!

Debs not sure if I will be able to BF or not in dress as haven't tried it on, but it has a kind of cross over top with some give in it so am hopeful! ( my cousin has very kindly arranged a room for me to use at the reception venue though, so all is not lost if it requires more than a quick adjustment!

my other thought was to get a wrap top from Bravissimo on line - have you looked on there? they have a couple of wrap dresses too which might do the trick - not sure if they deliver to Austria?

Really running out of things to occupy myself with, just need to get through today and tomorrow, them Mum and Dad arriving on Friday (DH is on call on Friday night, so they're coming to babysit me, just in case el bumpo decides to arrive when DH is out pissingaround saving lives!

sophiewd · 02/07/2008 09:35

They were much better this morning, DH had a quiet word and we put some toys and books in the sitting room for them. I feel mean but have others to think of.

whinegums · 02/07/2008 09:41

Morning.... another day at Whinegums Towers dawns and still no appearance by Junior! Sigh!

Laura, I'd like to think it was the weather - in which case I'd be shining a torch, well, where the sun don't normally shine, in order to fool the little so and so!

I know what you mean about running out of stuff to do. How many times can one repack a bag for hospital...? At least we have the tennis to look forward to this afternoon, as long as the rain stays off (fingers crossed for that, especially if the alternative is Cliff Richard!).

Deb, was also going to suggest a wrap dress if you can get one online. I got a jersey maxi dress from Monsoon, not maternity, but it's very 'forgiving' and have been wearing it a lot. It's got a cross/wrap top so it would be possible to feed wearing it too. Good luck with the shopping anyway.

Amber, as you know I have no clue (yet!) about snuffly babies, but I did buy a baby nasal aspirator thing - on the advice of friend who had a snotty babe - couple of quid from the chemist, and you can clear their little noses out with it (urgh!!!).

LauraT · 02/07/2008 09:45

think I looked at that dress yesterday whinegums does it come in pink turquoise and black? it's very nice!

looking forward to the tennis, might go to M and S and buy strawberries and cream to go with it! Am making the most of the last few days of not caring what I eat, so might buy cake too!

whinegums · 02/07/2008 10:23

Yes, Laura, must have been the same one (I went for black! Others far too cheery - but either would be nice for a wedding).

Oh, it is the law to eat cake, I'm going out to replenish the stocks.

Sarahpo · 02/07/2008 11:10

I am being induced on Tuesday at 9am...i guess by next week-end i will have a baby. They scare you so much at the hospital though all this talk of emergency c-section with general anaesthetic in case there is a prolapsed cord, potential of heavy bleeding so will be put on a drip for three hours after the birth etc. geez i thought childbirth was a 'natural occurrence' something that women do. I am only at the top end of fluid levels not over but they seem keen to 'manage' everything...
sorry just wittering on but its nice to be able to post to mumsnet i know that some of you have been through so much worse. I guess in some ways i have a week to get my head around this and they are just preparing me....

My brain has turned to mush!!!

I took dd1 to school, stayed chatting to another mother and dd2 went to the school field to play with her friends. I said giidbye to the mother I was chatting to and she went to find her little dd. I statred walking toards nursery. After about five mins I looked at the lunchbox in my hand and realised I had left dd2 in the school field !!!!!! As I was waling back towards the school one of her friends nanny was walking the girls towrds me. I am so glad that dd2 had the snese to tell the nannt she couldn't find me!
I think I need a big sleep and a string to tie all my children together!!!!!!

poppy34 · 02/07/2008 12:49

hi all -just quick skim of board whilst dad is cuddling edie..

Definite signs of edie building up strength (feed demands getting more frequent and longer in length.. very exhausting esp as it seems to have a rather erm potent effect on nappy frequency).

Any tips on how to deal with babies that want to be settled only by latching onto nipple (or dads finger)... it doesnt happen all the time but I am concerned as she can clearly smell milk on me therefore only nipple will do to settle her. DH talking of dummies etc but am sure there must be some tip we can use to stop her automatically rooting (even when has just fed huge amount and posseted loads)....

bitofadramaqueen · 02/07/2008 13:22

Afternoon all. Been well behaved today and not turned on the computer till lunchtime which means I actually got some housework done this morning for a change!

Still no news here - was woken quite a few times in the night last night with period-type pains but have been absolutely fine since I got up (at 10.30am).

Not actually dressed yet though so should go and do that - dont know about Glasgow Laura and Whinegums but it is very clammy here in Edinburgh. It'll be icecream for lunch I think!

Posting via mobile phone sucks, but am avidly reading all your posts and hope that someone can help poppy cos i am having exactly the same problem. And 10 days old seems far too early to be resorting to a dummy!
