pigleychez · 30/06/2008 21:21

Libra1975 · 30/06/2008 21:30

JODIEhavingababy · 30/06/2008 21:36

Just had a graphic discussion with the doula about whether white gunk was in fact show, sperm or just discharge (nice) and decided that together with the bit of blood today it was in fact a show! Which is exciting as I didn't get to see it last time. She did however say that with one of her own pregnancies (she has 6 kids!) it came four whole weeks before labour. Ah well.

Plus I have a)packed hospital bag (not planning to go in, but for one you never know and secondly it's all there for when we need it at home) and b) DH has blown up birthing pool and assembled cheapy Argos chests of drawers for DS/new baby clothes! So I am feeling a lot more ready overall. Bring it on!

ps birthing pool is in same room as the computer so obviously I will give regular updates throughout my labour when it happens, kind of like the sport updates on the bbc website

Minkus · 30/06/2008 21:50

Oooh lucky you Pigley I love new gadgets! And that one will be so handy. Happy birthday for Sunday.

Must go and check up on our facebook throng, please anyone feel free to add me as a friend too it will be so nice to find out a bit more about each other- we've been through a lot so far and I'm sure there's more to come

I've just bought a new car!!!!!!!!

Well new to me. We drove to Birmingham to look at it, a nice little 2 year old focus that I shall nickname John Major (because although I'm sure there will be nothing horribly wrong with the job it will do, it's dark grey and a bit, well, boring). My current car is an older 328 BMW and whilst there is nothing wrong with it at all, a hatchback makes so much more sense and I really wanted air conditioning! [Spoilt brat emoticon] It needs a jolly good clean inside and out though, hence I will not be driving it until dh sorts out a valet [second spoilt brat emoticon!]. In my dim and distant pre-child days I had a Z3 and it's a sign of the times that I am really quite chuffed with the fact I've got a family car!

I am shattered though after driving back. Took my labour bag and notes etc with us just in case, as well as directions to the nearest hospitals but nowt happening in that department grrr. Even went on a 2 mile walk this afternoon with a good friend and her 12 week old baby boy (so adorable, he's called Ted!) which I really enjoyed but this babe is stuck firm.

Right dh has just returned home in said new car so off to inspect my new family chariot properly

gillythekid · 30/06/2008 21:54

Great tennis, bounced on the ball the whole way through!
Congrats to Beep
Is there a conspiracy to rid all supermarkets of fresh pineapple? DH tried 4 but to no avail. May have to start a theory that someone somewhere doesn't want us to go into labour without midwives sticking their hands up our fanjos.
Finally got medication for now crippling SPD pain so I may sleep tonight but be constipated tomorrow, what can you do eh?

sweetkitty · 30/06/2008 21:55

min - fingers crossed

I'm having bad BHs and shaky legs false alarm though

Minkus · 30/06/2008 22:04

Libra1975 forgot to ask earlier- any more symptoms? Maybe not if you went to yoga (good girl ). Do you think it was your waters breaking before?

Bugrit I've just tried to add facebook friends but it's coming up with an error each time I try. And can't respond to the friend requests I've already got

I am with you Pigley, how will I ever get anything done? (well after the baby arrives obv I won't anyway and my status updates will languish for weeks but you know what I mean!)

ButterflyMcQueen · 30/06/2008 22:06

i have been a bit bachachey today ....told dp to prepare himself but he just goes all silly and fake-serious

he does not believe i do early ones!

Libra1975 · 30/06/2008 22:15

min192 - the things we end up discussing with strangers is quite extrodinary when pregnant!

Minkus - don't know what it was to be honest, have been damp all day but the on the pad it looks like discharge. Maybe I'll just have to jump on DH tonight for some natural encouragement!!! Ford Focuses are great, amazing little work horses, but not quite the fun of a Z3!

Pigley - nice b'day pressie! What your plans for Sunday?

pigleychez · 30/06/2008 22:25

Libra- My birthday is actually Sat
We have both sides of the family coming up sat for a BBQ.

Min- Lovely discussions we have hey!

Minkus- Lucky you with the new car! Id love a new car.... Ideally a Nissan 350Z but we all know thats not going to happen!!

OOhh whose going to be the fisrt baby of july???

AggiePanther · 30/06/2008 22:33

ooh sk ...shaky legs? you sure it's a false alarm?

ButterflyMcQueen · 30/06/2008 22:34

have i annoyed you all by requesting you as friends on facebook?

sweetkitty · 30/06/2008 22:54

Baby has been going mad for the past 2 hours think she's pushing so hard on my cervix and bladder it's causing these weird side effects.

Off to bed in a bit will try and sleep.

When I thought there was a chance this was it I got really scared why? I've been through it twice before but I don't want to do it again (I know too late).

yes i am with you two

keep your minds open - after 4 natural i had epidural with 5th (do i bore you?) and WOW what an amazing experience

what a mellow baby - no need for cranial osteopthy - he was calmly and controlledly pushed out

minds open to pain relief is my advice!!

libralady · 01/07/2008 00:06

Happy due date to me
Happy due date to me
Happy due date to me, e
And I already have my baby!

Sorry, can you tell the pain meds are making me a little crazy.

SK hopefully this is it.

Wow isn't the facebook thing fab. Only really starting using it a couple of weeks ago. Have had fun uploading some photos of both Sam and Luke tonight as there has been nothing on TV and DH is working away in London again.

Hope you don't mind, I've been adding you all as friends.

Luke just fed and bum changed so off to catch a few zzzzzz's myself.

Kaz1967 · 01/07/2008 02:06

Either my waters just went or I just wet myself Now sitting on a big towel as not a lot came out and think there could be more. Not really got any pain. Feel uncomfortable but had niggles all day. Feel like got bad period pain coming in waves every few minutes. Perhaps I had better time this that was less than 5 mins apart how bad do they get? Just feel like I need a poo

OP posts:
libralady · 01/07/2008 02:16

Kaz,

How exciting. That's what happened with me last week. Have you phoned the hospital? They may want you in just to check you out.

I had no real pains to speak of for three hours after mine went, just a few niggles, but the hospital wanted to check for infection/meconium etc. Have you put a pad on to make sure the water is clear and not tinged with green?

Just realised I've typed all this and you are the one who worked in NICU so you must know all this already! Doh!

libralady · 01/07/2008 02:19

If you need to go and have a 'clear out' just do, plus if it is your waters going, where better for them to escape to. Saves clearing up a mess.
I managed to get through 3 bath sheets, and got my slippers soaked as I didn't even think about putting a pad on.

Apparently, your waters are only about a litre, but I could've sworn it was nearer 10 the amount that came out of me!

That might be a slight exaggeration

libralady · 01/07/2008 02:20

I must get some sleep!!!!!!!!

When I get woken for Luk'e next feed, I'll check up on you.

Good Luck!
