libralady · 01/07/2008 04:23

Any news Kaz?

CilC · 01/07/2008 07:00

Ooooh looks like Kaz is next...
Poor you libralady, seems you have been up all night. I know that is supposed to happen when you have a baby...but the reality of seeing your awake times... I must check what is on television late at night.
The other night I got up and there was this show called sexcetera on that shockedetra me!!! When I flicked it on it was about over 60's group sex/orgies....complete with full frontal images...way too much for me to cope with at that hour and even more disturbing ...the reality of what will happen to DH and my body!!
Have added some people to facebook! Discovered Mcchesers and I share a birthday!
July today so bring on the babies...

mcchesers · 01/07/2008 07:42

CilC- Wow..you are the only other person I know that shares my birthday

IKWYM about the tv after the watershed. When DH and I got married my mom came over and was exposed to all that in the b and b. She joined us the next day for breakfast and I just caught her telling my brother "I never knew that's how lesbians did it".

We signed up for lovefilm.com thinking we could just watch and pause movies through the night for late feeds. Tv is rubbish anymore.

Still itching over here, just in new places. Have started wearing socks over my feet after using the steroid cream. Took another piritin this morning. I guess I am supposed to see the actual baby doc (whom I have never met) today to have him check my progress and liver test blood sample. What a mess, and so close to my EDD! My hands look like freddy kreuger. eek!

SK- any progress from last night? All that baby head rooting around sounded promising.

sweetkitty · 01/07/2008 07:44

Morning all Happy 1st of July to you all, this is the month we all have our babies.

Well BHs stopped as soon as I went to bed so am still with child this morning. What an odd couple of hours, loads of sore BHs, could feel her head pushing on my cervix and bladder and everytime I got shooting pains and had to pee.

kaz - yes sounds like your waters, wonder if she went in? Maybe she's had a baby oh how exciting I think we should have a baby on the first to start things off. I know I have said it before but I thought I had peed myself and 4 hours later had a baby in my arms - what a shock that was.

min912 - it was you that had a show as well, oh hope it's starting for you too

Anyone else?

Another overcast miserable day here all you lot with sunshine, would rather have the heat and the DDs playing outside than cooped up in here, it's not like I can take them anywhere either

sweetkitty · 01/07/2008 07:45

mcchesers - x-posted with you still itching poor you the things we go through eh?

mcchesers · 01/07/2008 08:16

we can't be that far off SK..had the same poking around feelings early this morning as I was sleeping on my left and woke me straight up to pee. ugh how frustrating.

I decided to get up at 7 and shower and dress before I ended up sitting around in my bed clothes itching. My test results should be in around 2, so going to try and get to the clinic for 2ish so they can have a gander at me. If I can't shake this rash, then no waterbirth for me, and I will def opt for an epidural if just to free me from the maddening scratching for a bit. I just don't want to handle my newborn and give this to him. I'd feel horrible.

Had a nosey round the labour ward yesterday and got to see the incubator where premie babies go. There was a ickle hat and bootie set and the tiniest nappy I have ever seen. We got in at half 12 and there was a woman in active labour next to the waiting room..by the time we left there was a wee baby crying in her room. Got me all excited!!!

pigleychez · 01/07/2008 08:21

Morning all.

Been wide awake since 5.10 am.
Woke up and went to loo as normal (seems to be a favourite time) Sorry for TMI but the moment i sat down there was abit of a gush- more than a normal wee.... only for a minute then back to trickle.
All happened so quickly and i was half asleep but lay in bed for the next few hours wondering if that was my waters?
Told DH when he woke at 7, who was walking around the house with a big grin before leaving for work.

Got DH to bring my laptop up for me which im currently using laying in bed - lazy! so i could do some research.
The more i read the more i think it wasnt as i heard no pop and not leaking now.- just a big wee

Sounds like Kaz might be our next one!! our first July baby perhaps?
Official July now- scary thought!!

mcchessers- sorry your still itching

sk- sorry everything stoped for you.

Minkus · 01/07/2008 08:27

Good luck Kaz, hopefully you have your lovely baby snuggled up next to you by now.

SK- it's so funny isn't it every odd feeling at the moment brings an "oooh this is it!". And then nowt. Grrrr.

McChesers- all that itching must be driving you bonkers. Here's to hoping your baby will be next, at least it might stop then!

TJuice wherever you are in the ether I hope all is going well for you and Elodie.

CilC those images would have disturbed me too!

Hey sleepycat not seen you for a while. All going ok?

Well I had a large glass of wine last night before bed and I had an amazing sleep, only needed to get up once in the night at 4.10 for a wee and slept really soundly the rest of it. Now I'm nearing the end I guess I deserve a little vino now and then!

I've changed ds's nursery days and today is a mummy and ds day today so off to the park I think! Plus food shopping. Ooooh the excitement

Have a good day all xx

Minkus · 01/07/2008 08:36

Pigley my waters didn't make a "pop" sound with ds either- stick a pad on and see what's occuring in a few hours! (And good idea about the laptop, def not lazy but v sensible!)

I can't believe that this baby is going to come out in such a different way to ds- with him, no warning of labour at all, waters broke, no show, contractions started strong and 5 minutes apart from the very beginning. This one, false labour and a show at 36 weeks, niggles every few days ever since, another bigger show at 38+6, more niggles- I really feel like this is the first time I'm having a baby cos I just don't know what to expect! They do say every labour is different don't they but never really thought how different until now.

Just "thinking" out loud there...

sweetkitty · 01/07/2008 08:49

Minkus - I think it's second plus babies, with DD1 I was like you not a niggle but with DD2 I had everything I think your body knows what it is doing more and you can be in a kind of prelabour for a few weeks but when it's finally time it's very quick.

I'm still in PJs as DDs not at nursery today I wish I could take them to the park but cannot chase after both of them plus with the schools off it will be full of school age kids so my two especially DD2 needs more looking after. Plus anytime you seem to go anywhere here right now the rain starts.

pigley - I don't even think anything got started TBH

Right suppose I had better go do something.

DonutMum · 01/07/2008 09:05

Fingers crossed Kaz.

I've been awake since 3am thinking about what I still "need" to do - like do my e-mail list for the birth announcement and file my photos on my new laptop. You know - stuff that actually doesn't need to be done .

So, think I'll go back to bed and wait for baby to arrive - could be there a long time. Despite DS1 telling me to get Logan to hurry up cos he's taking too long. Think he thinks his daddy coming home depends on the baby turning up. It'd be nice for him to come tomorrow cos it's my wedding anniversary.

Re baby moving - does anyone else hear clicks and pops down there?

min912 · 01/07/2008 09:52

I never heard any kind of 'pop' when my waters went last time - mine was pretty much as Kaz described it, followed by period-like pains which just got more intense and regular.

Am feeling better today but OMG the piles are uncomfy!!!! Not so much painful but I am only happy sitting still... guess I'd better stay at the pc then .

In my twisted logic as DS was born on a memorable date (5 November) therefore this one will be as well, although really in July there's only either the 4th (we do know lots of americans, so maybe), the 7th (DH's birthday, but he wants to keep that to himself) or 14th, Bastille Day. Hmmmm!

Minkus I don't feel very confident about being able to recognise that I'm in labour this time either... last time the waters were a big clue, but I can't help but feel that I'll somehow 'miss' it this time round. The doula assures me that as soon as the contractions start I'll think 'oh, now I remember this' - let's hope so!

min912 · 01/07/2008 09:57

Would just like to point out that I do feel slightly embarrassed now discussing piles etc now you can see who I am on fb... but not enough to stop, obviously!

Peanut73 · 01/07/2008 10:43

Ooooh - this is getting exciting! things are starting to happen!! I am keeping an eye on you all. And about to add you as friends on fb. xx

Trespass · 01/07/2008 11:18

Hi everyone, pinch punch happy July 1st! So exciting waiting to hear from Kaz now and whoever else is next. Again, took me ages to catch up, at least 6 pages but I don't want to miss anything lol.

Feel so sorry for everyone with spd and other horrid pregnancy pains, my hands are the worst for me at the mo, carpal tunnel I think, not good. But could be worse I know.

My hosp apt (last one I think) was cancelled last wk so going today at 3:30, hope I don't need another internal, seriously knacks and the doctor (male) is quite a chubby little man IYSWIM, yeuk, the thought makes me cringe. Anyway, just hope everything's ok. Had BH the past 2 nights, make me giggle because they really, really hurt and I can't imagine how much real contractions are going to hurt!! Reckon I'm gonna be a real wimp.

Congratulations Beepbeep!

I'm with you Cilc and Butterfly, due 14th. Well done for knowing Bastille day, I only know that now from living here, also live on Rue De La Republique (street) so would be quite cool if I did actually give birth on my DD.

Ok, sorry for babbling on, hope the sunshine comes out for everyone today! Hey joined Facebook and added you all on there so far, don't know how I'll keep up with both now!!

NikNakF · 01/07/2008 11:26

Hey guys,

Hope you are doing well. I've been off for a bit at on 19th June my little one arrived by C-Sec (Prem rupture of membranes, then induced then c-sec when no progression!). He was 6lb12oz and perfect - and apart from no sleep I love having him!

Best,

N xx

pigleychez · 01/07/2008 11:30

ohhh NikNak! Fab news Congratulations!!

Any names?? Any pics??

Heffagooday · 01/07/2008 11:31

NikNakF - Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing pictures, hope you're OK

Trespass - the carpal tunnel isn't nice is it Mine's got worse over the last week so that my hands are like claws in the morning now. Hope your hospital appointment goes well and that you don't need an internal!

Donutmum - hope you have a nice wedding anniversary

Mcchesers - sorry about your itching

Pigley - hope it's starting for you! Good luck

Kaz - good luck! How exciting!

Re Bastille Day - it sounds like we may have a few that day! My nephew was conceived in France so has a French middle name which is quite sweet.

Re waters breaking - is it obvious, or can it feel a bit like weeing? The MW at antenatal class was saying it was really obvious when your waters break as it's a big gush but from what I've heard on here it doesn't sound like that's the case

Re lovefilm - we signed up to it for my maternity leave but I figure it might be useful when bfeeding too.

Can't believe it's actually July! I just hope I don't end up going into August.

catec · 01/07/2008 11:55

First proper day of maternity leave today - woo hoo (well actually started yesterday but will get to that in a tic) and still in bed! Well it has just taken me a good while to catch up on here - 7 pages since I last checked in I think on Sunday.

It was DP's birthday yesterday and I surprised him (he took the day off work) with a mystery outing... to Wimbledon! We both love tennis (although fairly rubbish players!) and have been following this Wimbledon religiously so a real treat for both of us. Managed to get ground passes through work and once we got there I managed to get hold of No 1 court tickets so we saw Nadal/Youzny and Safin/Wawrinka, followed by the Murray/Gasquet game on the hill. An amazing day out but pretty exhausted now as didn't get home till midnight (completely starving because there was so much good tennis on at the end of the day that neither of us wanted to leave to get food!).

Hope all is well here, the babies should be coming thick and fast from here on in. Hopefully mine holds off for at least a week as need this maternity leave to have a rest first and then get things organised - still haven't packed hospital bag and missing quite a few essentials! Not due till 25th though so am sure I will have a couple of weeks. My parents arrive over from NZ next week - I can't wait!

Congrats beepbeep and niknak, and good luck Kaz. Sorry about everyone else I've forgotten, brain has completely switched off.

Mmmm... might have to get up now. It is boiling hot here in London today! Might work on my tan...

gillythekid · 01/07/2008 12:05

Catec I'm off to London Fields Lido, might have to be winched in and hoping I don't scare everyone off with my monster trotters!
Good luck Kaz and congrats to NikNak.

Heffagooday · 01/07/2008 12:09

Catec - congratulations on the maternity leave! How does it feel? Wimbledon sounds fab!

sweetkitty · 01/07/2008 12:10

I think I will do a wee update of the list since we have now had another 2 babies, maybe inspire the rest to turn up soon.

catec · 01/07/2008 12:16

Thanks Heffa! It feels bizarre but was great having a lie-in this morning!
Ha ha Gilly, the Lido sounds fab. If only I had the energy to drag myself to one...

congratulations NikNak - whats his name?

I have been having those niggles again not sore or anything just odd pains and a lot of pressure and feeling I need to pee constantly. DP is playing football tonight so should be home a bit later but I don't know if it's just me but it seems like he just gets on with things whereas I'm left with the DDs and feeling like this suppose I'm just a hormonal woman.
