Well done beep beep, what a good weight and speedy birth!

Haven't read all posts, just off to the bank but have joined the facebook group, it's going to be so funny seeing what we all look like!

Will catch up on posts later x

mcchesers · 30/06/2008 16:49

beepbeep- yay for new big baby! I would ideally like to go down the exact same path. no tearing, water birth. Can you tell us (once you catch your breath) how it went and what the MW actually does in a water birth? I hear lots of conflicting stories.

Just back from labour ward this time to have them check my ever increasing rash. Spent several hours waiting while two very young doctors compared my swollen feet to photos in a book.

Libra- they gave me the Piritin, so hopefully that should do the trick..and calamine lotion, and a steroid creme. RESULT!!

ooh sleepy now, might try and get a nap in. Also joined facebook group.

Libra1975 · 30/06/2008 16:52

Mccheesers -according to our waterbirth session at the hospital a MW shouldn't do anything in a water birth, basically you birth the baby yourself whilst the MW watches but doesn't touch! Hope the piriton works.

Heffagooday · 30/06/2008 17:46

Bah, my MW told me I should probably take my wedding ring off but having spent ages trying today, I think it's too late. Just have to hope that my fingers don't swell up so much that it has to be cut off .

Mcchesers - hope all your remedies work!

Love the Facebook group!

Peanut73 · 30/06/2008 18:05

one handed typing as i feed charlie boy. i have just joined the facebook group too! how exciting!

Libra1975 · 30/06/2008 18:05

Heffa - try first thing in the morning.

Am I being unreasonable to want to stay in and watch murray at wimbledon rather than go to already paid for pregnancy yoga?

pigleychez · 30/06/2008 18:06

Hi all,

Funny seeing what everyone looks like on the facebook page.

Jacobs- my DH is the same... he doesnt beleieve in anything like reflexology. He is very sceptical of anything! Constantly laughing at me for reading horoscopes or counting magpies ect.
My DH would be exactly they same and constantly be taking the piss.. making me laugh.

Hope things go ok with DH's job.

Disney- ohh at least you have a set date. Should be easier to sort out childcare now. Did you get things sorted with your daughter over that?

Mummywannabe- Hormones have alot to answer for dont they!! Glad youve finished your essay... now you can chill.

Mcchesers- Hope the rash improves soon.

Also interested in BeepBeep's water birth. Im quite interested in using the one at the hospital (if its free)
Reminds me to check with MW about using it as someone said i might not be able to because of my high blood pressure?? Any ideas??

Well its my 27th Birthday on Sat and DH has just given me my present early. Said i can get used to using it and read the instructions before baby comes.
All the talk of watching Newborn videos made me get mine out of the cupboard. After charging it, i found that it didnt work anymore Kept saying the lens cover was on even though it wasnt so could only see a black screen.
Anyway Lovely DH has bought me a swish new one... Much much smaller than my old breeze block!
Its actually the one on the advert of the guy filming the baby being born and passing out! - But theres NO way he will be filming the actual birth!!

min912 · 30/06/2008 18:52

Ooof, am wilting in this heat... not to be selfish but apparently it's going to rain on wednesday, hurrah.

Just went to Boots and felt like such a pregnant cliche, I bought:
iron supplements
gaviscon
pile cream
paracetemol

Went to Starbucks to treat myself and had a wee - there was a bit of blood. Not much but red... so maybe it was a bit of show on saturday after all! Nothing since. Is there a rough maximum on onset of show to something actually happening??!

Peanut73 · 30/06/2008 19:56

Pigley - hurrah for the new video camera, how exciting! Bless your DH. Happy Birthday for Sunday!!

min912 - Nothing like being prepared. Hope you have a Boots card. I read that a show can happen anywhere up to 2 weeks before membranes rupture... a bit hazy on recollection though.

JODIEhavingababy · 30/06/2008 20:12

Oh Pigley that's a great pressie, I was impressed that it had a memory stick so you can just stick it in the computer and download stuff! How easy! I also love the advert as it mentions something about High Definition, just as he's passing out!!! Wonder if they meant it!

Right off to finish watch Murray play.....

sweetkitty · 30/06/2008 20:28

Evening all DP has come home tonight and said he is off on annual leave until the baby is born and is then on 2 weeks paternity - yippee! His boss basically said his mind isn't on his job and he has loads of hols left so go and help me out.

pigley - happy new video camera, one of the best things we bought after DD1 was born I love looking at footage of them all tiny then you see them now.

min912- sounds like you are heading in the right way

mcchesers - glad you got some remedies hope they work for you now

Heffagooday · 30/06/2008 20:37

Libra - thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try!

Re Facebook - feel free to add me as a friend as well

Just had another antenatal class. This one was all about stuff that could go wrong so although it was the same old bag midwife, it was much better - since she talked a lot about transfer to the hospital and how difficult it would be so I'm feeling really glad that I'm already booked in there.

pigleychez · 30/06/2008 20:38

SK - Im a right noisy mare so off to add you on facebook now

pigleychez · 30/06/2008 20:38

Crazy baby brain!

sweetkitty · 30/06/2008 20:44

I have been getting really niggly BH on and off all day, whats that about? Bump is really painful as well, don't believe it's anything though until I'm shouting for the G&A I refuse to believe I am truly in labour.

sweetkitty · 30/06/2008 20:51

pigley they only look like sweeties thats from last year though they look so young, I do make them cute though, had to have another really

cass66 · 30/06/2008 20:52

fantastic tennis match. anyone on here not watching - step away from the computer now and turn on the TV!!!

AggiePanther · 30/06/2008 20:55

Evening ladies - just wanted to say congrats to beepbeep and hello to everyone else. Am still hanging in here too ... am with you all on the uncomfy nights - must recommend that free relaxation download (from blissful birth. co.uk) though - I'm asleep before it finishes - mind you it doesn't stop me waking up for a pee or to turn over ...but at least I can get to sleep in the first place. Well I have told LO he either has to arive tonight or tomorrow or he has to hang on till Sunday cos DP is away on weds and it's DD2's birthday friday so we've got everyone round on saturday. I spose it would be okay if he came on thurs though ...mind you next week would be better so that everyone makes a fuss of DD2 at the weekend and not the baby. Oh wouldn't it be nice if we could plan it all and everything went as planned...mind you it wouldn't be nearly so exciting

CilC · 30/06/2008 21:00

I agree Cass! Great tennis match!
Butterfly...I too have been looking at french names and suggested a few to Dh who basically just laughed... We have now agreed on two names, one originally derived from a french name suggestion. The other name Thomas - I suggested spelling the french way, but it seems they spell it that way in France. I thought it was spelt Tomas with a little umlaut somewhere! DH thinks I am sad...

Pigley the best thing we got before dd's birth was our zippy little camer. Great present!
