Hello everyone wow it all seems to be happening here now, nothing from my little kitty as yet, still loads of BHs and pressure downstairs. Miserable day today so been doing a few house things.

Rumpel - sounds good even if I am a little as you are due after me! Here's to a speedy labour can't wait for your announcement and to see which flavour you get.

BrownOwl - congratulations on the birth of Maisie, will have to update list later

Peanut/Tjuice - you can either stay here for a wee while or make a July 08 postnatal thread and we will all (eventually) join you on, I know you were June but hope you stay with us, we all "know" you.

My friend who had her baby boy 6 weeks ago posted a pic of her NCT reunion on facebook and there were 8 little babies all lined up, how cute was the photo, would be great if we could do that wouldn't it?

Had tears yesterday over our choice of Girls name..

I started searching for another name as i dont like our parents reactions to the name. We want Abigail. My mum has already shortened it to Ab which i dont like.. try to put her right but she always says it. Dont mind Abbie but Abigail untill shes abit older.
Then DH parents keep going on about an Abigail they used to know who was called "Gabby Abby" which doesnt sound great either.
DH got stroppy saying that he's not changing it just because of them. I understand where hes coming from but hate the nicknames and baby isnt even here yet!

SK- how have you found your Abigails name?

pigley - this is exactly why I don't tell anyone the name under the baby is born and it is set in stone (well apart from the whole of MN)

Abbie is only Abigail on her birth cert and when she's really naughty although I do really like it, she sometimes gets Abs though and although I'm not too keen I suppose it will happen. I have heard oh Westminster Abbey, Abbey National, Scabby Abbie and Crabby Abbie but TBH you can do that will any name. I don't regret calling her Abigail at all it's a beautiful name and I think you should go with it

I went to the hospital and my BP was lower than ever . I've got to go and see the consultant on Wednesday morning and I'll probably be booked in for an induction then because they are worried that my BP has been all over the place. So it looks like we'll have our LO fairly soon, which is very exciting!

Well I just got back from appt with OB - she said LO is no longer back to back - hurray!! Hopefully he won't flick bck round. His head is not engaged but is over my cervix...but she says it might not engage til labour anyway.

She's happy for me to go into labour spontaneously and for things to go as naturally as poss - which is great news as last time (due to my heart condition) I had an induction 2 weeks early and a planned epidural right at the beginning. So although I had no pain it was very clinical - and uncomfortable not being able to move.
I'm hoping to keep upright and active as long as poss this time and I've been reading all about active births and listening to my hypnobirthing mp3s so hopefully that will help.
Will be seen by the MW on the 16th if LO not arrived by then but they'll leave induction till term +10. So ...curry tonight

pigley - don't go off your fave name and regret it later! my MIL rubbished 'charlie' saying it was too 'royal'. DH went off it after that (hence 6 days with no name after birth). Now MIL has nothing but praise for the name as if she never even said anything in the first place.

also - once a name has your gorgeous little baby attached to it no one will remember or think of others who had that name - i'm sure my MIL doesn't think of prince charles when she sees charlie.

Aggie - great news about baby turning, just got back from MW and mine is still back to back, little . carries on watching Brothers and Sisteers on her knees.

The name thing is a minefield - I'm with SweetKitty, keep schtum about it until the LO arrives and no-one will criticse then. We have decided on Lara but all the middle names we like begin with E which means her initials will be L.E.W which of course sounds like Loo which I won't have so the search for a middle name continues. My DH thinks I'm crazy.

Abigail/Abby is a lovely name.

Aggie - great news. My LO was back to back last time. Got MW appoitment tomorrow, and I hope she will tell me it has turned. I think it has.

Names, names, names. I am sick of them. We are never ever going to be able to choose. Scream!

Names....arghhhhhhh! There I have screamed. I can not see a problem with lew Libra. My Dh's sister is called Valerie. Her surname begins with a D and she has no middle name. VD is a problem...her daughter is Maeli Alice = MAD now that is funny but LEW seems fine compared to them!

Back from consultant. Baby has turned from transverse and is now engaged and ready to go. Have to keep an eye on it - I want my LO to come when out next Monday when everything booked and ready to go. They asked if I would like LO out this Wednesday but it would be a nightmare for DH as the Hampton Court Flower show is on and it is just up the road. It took us an hour and twenty minutes to get back from hospital - normally only 15 minutes!!!!

So unlike the rest of you I am now crossing legs and keeping away from that MW. My gawd how would she be knowing I had untransversed!!!! (sic)

Congratulations BrownOwl, and good vibes for Rumpel, Purplejennyrose and Disney (though Rumpel, you were due after me - queuejumping is not polite you know).

Had the final scan for LO today, so everything still looks fine, her doppler blood flow is in normal range and all measurements either average or above average. However, due to the anti-Es, they do not want me to go much overdue, so have to go to hosp next Tues so they can assess need for induction. On the positive side, I can labour in the birthpool on the consultant-led unit! They don't want me to give birth there as I had a PPH after dd2, and they also want me to have a managed third stage for the same reason.But hey, they listened to me, they went and got the consultant mw (who specialises in VBACs) and we got to an agreed compromise. Now, there better be no-one in that pool or using the telemetric unit when I go in.

Libra1975, I never resented my baby when I had my first one, but I did resent my dh sometimes, especially when he started resuming a bit of a social life and I should say, that only meant an occasional drink out with his workmates after work. It didn't help that he worked with a very beautiful vibrant woman at the time, and I wasn't surprised that he would want to spend time with her rather than me. There was nothing going on, I hasten to add (I'd been at her wedding when pg with dd1), I was just feeling all fat and frumpy and insecure. It might be worth warning him, and suggesting that pampering of you would not go amiss, even when the baby's a few months old, rather than a few days.

C'mon girls there's a heap of us overdue/due this week!!

SK- cramps are actually worse when I lie down..actually everything seems to appear that things are starting to kick off. I go back to clinic tomorrow and my GP said she would be surprised if they didn't give me a sweep. No other signs of show or blood. Just taking it easy around the house for the duration. DH got really excited and put the bassinet together and washed baby's blankets.

Tjuice- Am really chilled about all things post delivery. I can't wait to cuddle him and give him loads of kisses. How cute about your wee girl nursing your nose.

CilC- I've been here in the UK for 5 years now, and we've had our flat on the market for a wee while and hoping to get back to the states before next year.

Glad everyone is liking the name Abbie

Had a visit from a friend today I hadn't seen in a while. It was a good visit apart from one thing.....she is very negative about bf. She kept going on about how Abbie would put on weight more quickly if I bottle fed her formula and that bf didn't have all the advantages people said it did.......why do some people do this?? Isn't every mum allowed to do what they feel best for their child without pushing their opinions on everyone else?

Sorry for rant......tired and weepy as well today but Abbie is doing well and is gorgeous
