OK let's take a deep breath and begin...

morningpaper, expecting #2, due 8 October 2005, so currently 4 wks to the day...

Hoping that someone will invent a new form of pain relief in the next 8 months....

I've got no bump but I'm definitely looking FAT.

Mostly arse it seems.

It's all the rubbish food I've been eating because I'm feeling too sick to eat properly.

Homebirth - gah! My local hospital has currently banned them because of the midwife shortage. Not that I'd want one - I want to be near a big tray of DRUGS.

with you on the drugs front morningpaper... also am extremely fat!!! by the evening i look about 16 weeks pregnant! Am just about holding it together while i am at work though. dh thinks it is hysterical... makes it harder to keep a secret though.
also.. bizarrely, only one of my boobs appears to be growing. just my luck, never mind...

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 14:06

Apperently after your first pregnancy the bump becomes more pronounced more quickly...mine's definately bump shaped but its all flobbly wobbly - I've been eating all healthy too lol

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 14:07

Can't type today at all lol

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 14:20

Don't worry about the one boob thing by the way, mine did the same last time...it ended up that my DS only liked that boob and it's always had more milk in it than the other, I did have problems breastfeeding last time and ended up expressing for 9 months but that's totally unrelated to the big boob vs little boob thing ...it was a sicky baby and poor aftercare that ruined my breastfeeding!.... I have lots of milk already! Probably because I only just stopped expressing....but it's definately yellow and not white...and Theo thinks its fantastic to come and have a go all of a sudden hmph!

morningpaper · 24/02/2005 14:21

I think the bump is appearing because my stomach muscles are all knackered from my first pregnancy so there is nothing left to hold it in...

I'm going to be a HEFFA!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 14:23

Me too morningpaper... we'll have to start a heffa support thread lol

SusiS · 24/02/2005 15:17

same here! i look like 4 months pregnant already - no change with boobs so! i wouldn't worry about bf! if you manage it's cool, if you don't it's cool too! i really tried hard with ds but mangaged only for 7 weeks (just didn't have enough milk) and he is a very healthy baby on formula - and that way daddy can help out too - i will try again though; but won't get stressed out over it if i can't do it!

SusiS · 24/02/2005 15:17

oh, and most deff no home birth! had a quite difficult birth last time so absolutly agree with you girls: as close to them drugs as possible

SusiS · 24/02/2005 15:19

just came back from gp appointment - quite disappointed though
she just calculated the due date (strangley enough 30th sept!) who cares - i stick with you!

then she gave me the phonenr. of the hospital and i had to arrange a 12 week scan with them and mw won't see me before that anyways

have my scan now 23/3 and mw on 24/3

hushh · 24/02/2005 15:39

Hi there. I went to the docs today as still spotting but it got a bit worse this morning. Booked in for an early scan on Monday. Well it will either stop or get better & theres nothing really I can do apart from stay positive. I had the same with DS but I just can't remember to what extent. I'm worried but I have read some positive things on here so fingers crossed

hushh · 24/02/2005 15:40

That should have said "stop or get worse" - god I can't even type/think straight

Lexie100 · 24/02/2005 15:53

Hushh - do you have pain with your spotting?

hushh · 24/02/2005 15:55

No - no pain. I'm hoping it will stop as quickly as it started. Not too bad at the mo

Lexie100 · 24/02/2005 16:13

Then that is positive.

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 16:44

Lexie's right that's a really positive thing!... I'll be thinking of you, I hope the scan goes well.

Susi did the gp ask about your cycle length at all? If it's not exactly 28 days then he/she'll have got in wrong (unless they asked of course)

SusiS · 24/02/2005 17:54

lol nope! didn't ask a thing!!!
well, i'll see in 4 weeks anyways

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 17:57

Mine didn't ask either and my cycle was always about 30 days so my due date's got to be a few days out lol

montaguemonkey · 24/02/2005 21:26

Hello, I am new to mumsnet, just registered today, but very impressed.

I am due on 17 October 2005 (almost exactly 2 years to the day after our first baby was due Although our dd was v. comfy and didn't appear until November). Therefore, the timing is so similar it is all a bit weird.

This time, however, I have no time to pore over pregnancy books and websites and do yoga and exercise as my dd takes up most of my free time, I work full-time and we're trying to sell the flat!

ta ta for now

jessicasmummy · 24/02/2005 21:42

welcome!!! congrats on the pg.

Woodelf · 24/02/2005 22:13

Welcome Montaguemonkey!

Dear Hushh sending lots of good wishes and hugs your way for Monday; lots of positive vibes too!

After feeling OK this morning I went shopping in our local Somerfield and felt really sick so got out as fast as I could back to work. Felt so crap I couldn't drag myself to Fencing class so missed playing around this evening too!

Generally knackered and in need of sleep so goodnight all!

penpal · 24/02/2005 22:48

Hi, spotting got a bit worse/regular and had some pain so rang docs to get appt and they said come right away, saw doc who did internal, womb nice and tight, said he'd ring the hospital and let me know what he'd arranged that day. Got phone call few hours later with appt for Early Preg Assess Clinic at hosp next day. They took details etc, tried normal scan but my womb was tilting front to back, hence internal scan. NO risks. Saw beautiful pics of my baby 7 wks 5 days, head was bobbing up and down on the strong heart beat. Womb clear of blood/anything else. Suggested that the baby was 'textbook' in size and development so bleeding just down to hormones. Pain I have had is on the side of my right ovary, which is where there is scarring from the baby's sac coming away, perfectly normal and good as this site gives off necessary hormones. Got first scan pic and it even looks like a BABY. SIGH of relief, just got to deal with dh now.

Woodelf - so true re friends/family. We met/married later than most, therefore started family bit later. My siblings got a head start so they are finding things easier not having babies or toddlers. And I'm not even the youngest so GOD knows what they will say when they find out I'm going for it all over again. Just adds to the pressure. I've got the youngest family but ask for very little help from my parents as they aren't in the best of health. I feel they are at a stage where they need stress-free visits with their grandchildren, not to be full on babysitters whilst parents at work, got to gym etc. My sisters however make full use of free childcare. Makes me determined not to do the same and cope without bothering anyone..........

Moomin · 24/02/2005 22:56

fab news penpal - that's great. what a relief for you

Elf1981 · 25/02/2005 07:08

Morning all.
Bad day yesterday - almost threw up on the way to work, on the bus, at work, at home and at 12:00 when I woke up needing to loo.
Not actually sick, but felt awful.
And there was me saying I wanted morning sickness! OMG how daft was I?!

I'm currently waiting for M/W to phone me and make an appointment. I might ring the clinic and see what week on average the M/W sees people, so I know roughly when to expect to get the appointment. I'm very impatient.

Ref due dates and 28day cycles, this page is useful if you're not a 28day cycle. (Not sure if this will work as never put a link in before!!)

Hope it works - sorry if it doesn't!!
