welcome shama and congrats!!! wow 7 months - you must be chuffed!!!
if you don't feel allright and you can afford it, sure - quit the job

Moomin · 24/02/2005 07:50

congrats sharma! here's to a happy and healthy pg

Have been a chicken and taken today off work. altho i slept loads yesterday afternoon i had a really restless night and feel shattered again today. feel really guilty about it but i know i'd be crap again when i got there. i really must sort my head out for coping with the next few weeks. i'll havr to try to rest when i get in from work but not sleep and then go to bed very early on my work nights. i feel quite embarrassed about this. i'm sure they'll be people at work think how rubbish i am, like some kind of neurotic bint who thinks no one else has ever been pg !

jessicasmummy · 24/02/2005 08:14

dont be silly... i know what you mean by a restless night.... just couldnt get to sleep and then when i did kept waking up, had about 4 hours sleep i think! take it easy - your bubba is more important than work!

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 09:44

Hey girls welcome to the new people and congrats! Seeing the twins must be so lovely Saphire! I can't wait to see my beanie I'm the biggest wimp of all of you and hadn't actually been out since I found I was pregnant lol (not properly anyway only to the doctors and for a walk)...but finally spent the whole day in town with my lovely friend and I bought some maternity tops was totally knackered when I got back though and had forgotten that I needed to sort Theo's birthday party stuff out for this Sat...oh well lol...

The sickness is here but its erm weird... last time I was constipated from the start and puked up bile loads if I didn't eat and most of what I did eat anyway but this time it's starting off like...I feel evilly sick for 30 mins...then I have to poop and then it comes back and then I have to go again! Sorry for the TMI ramble... I hope you're all getting some rest

Joseyjo · 24/02/2005 09:58

as we are all winging this morning.... can i join in?
i have a really strange sensation today that i haven't felt before. it is on my left hand side just under my boob (so worryingly near my heart). It is difficult to explain but it kind of feels like a muscle spasming - anyone get that in their eyelids occasionally?
so should i worry and ring the midwife or assume i am just changing shape and it has nothing to do with my heart and get on?
i am going into hospital tomorrow morning anyway to see the specialist and have my first scan (v v v scared about that anyway...). help please?!!!

SusiS · 24/02/2005 09:59

you did right to stay home! try and get some rest so you can get back to work with all the energy you need!!! - they all should remember how it was to be pregnant!! and if they weren't yet the more reason to zip up

i have to admit i am glad that i don't have to work. although looking after ds is exhausthing enough!!! thought i feel better today; didn't feel sick first thing in the morning - but then it started and on and off aarrghhh - ds is asleep atm so i'll put up my feet and watch tv

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 10:04

Josey I had a bit of a pain like that the other day... mine felt like a stitch after running lots except I was just sitting around being normal... it was right under my left boob and now my boobs won't fit any of my bras except my old breastfeeding sleep bra witch is the stretchiest thing known to mankind... I wouldn't worry unless it feels like a crushing pain, or it flutters really hard (quite deep) and makes it hard to breathe.... it's probably the muscle underneath your boob going 'oi no I don't want to stretch'

Lexie100 · 24/02/2005 11:06

Morning all. I have just had my booking in appointment through the post for 20/4 i'll be 16weeks. This can't be right, can it??? I'll have had my 11 week scan at kings by then.

YOKEFLEET · 24/02/2005 11:29

Lexie,

If I were you I would ring them to check as that seems too long. I had my booking appointment at just over 8weeks but I know others have had theres later.

ButtonMoon · 24/02/2005 11:46

I'll be almost 12 weeks when I have my booking appt....and I thought that was late!! I will have wanted to get my scan organised by then! Apparently they won't see you till you are 10 weeks+ at my GP/MW.

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 11:48

Mine's seeing me at 8 weeks ish which I thought was a bit early as the scan will probably be 2/3 weeks later.... but 16 weeks is far too late you should have it before or along side your scan so that they have your blood results handy

YOKEFLEET · 24/02/2005 12:16

I was glad to see my MW at 8weeks as this is my 1st pg I had loads of questions and she gave me loads of info about foods to avoid and aromatherapy oils etc that the doc hadn't told me when I saw him at 4w.

YOKEFLEET · 24/02/2005 12:18

MW aren't taking any bloods til my next mw appointment which will be at between 15-17w (so after the dating scan)
(I find it amazing how the mw care is so different from area to area)

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 12:18

I like my booking appts to be as late as possible to be honest lol I'm terrified of needles! But later than 12 weeks and I'd worry..

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 12:20

York... I thought that the bloods at the time of scan was standard procedure sorry it does differ doesn't it!

Joseyjo · 24/02/2005 12:20

I saw my midwife on monday (7w5) and am seeing her again at 16 weeks for various blood tests and the first heartbeat listening thingy...If you want to see a midwife before they say you can then argue. you will find that pretty much all doctors will do as you ask if you make neough fuss!!!

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 12:20

York?! I'm talking to a made up preson in my head obviously, sorry Yoke!

jessicasmummy · 24/02/2005 12:22

im not sure when all my stuff will be done, will need to register with a doctor when i move this weekend, but hopefully will get a dating scan as not all that sure of dates - i could either be 6 weeks or 9 weeks depending whether the so-called period was a period or whether it was implantation bleed?!

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 12:22

Who's hoping for a homebirth this time? I know its amazingly early to think about it and there might be goodness knows how many little complications but I think I'm going for one this time... so that I get no interruptions to my bonding and breastfeeding

Lexie100 · 24/02/2005 12:23

Got my scan at 11 weeks so i'll see if i can bring my booking in appointment forward. Thanks

Joseyjo · 24/02/2005 12:24

almost definitely have to have a cs again, so not planning anything yet. would be too scared to do it at home anyway...

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 12:26

Thats another thing that terrifies me! The thought of a cs! Ooh you're brave lol

Woodelf · 24/02/2005 12:59

Welcome Shama, so many of us now - October will be a busy month. Sapphire, it sounds brilliant being able to see your tiny twins - makes me want to see my baby woodelf asap .

At work again today, had a hellish day yesterday and today dealing with buses because car has a puncture - great timing! Just feeling so tired and itching to tell the boss that I couldn't give a flying stuff about a course in September as I won't care by then and I'll be HUGE! Being discreet of course but it's getting harder as my patience is definately thinner at present and my boss who is gay and so funny thinks my moodies are hilarious but hasn't put 2 and 2 together!
The funniest thing of all is my due date of 8/10 is his birthday which will appeal to his enormous sense of vanity a lot!

Fastasleep · 24/02/2005 13:03

I don't know how you people at work manage keeping it a secret (apart from the zonkedness!) is it just me who's looking a bit bumpy? And a bit like Jordan too lol... those maternity tops make my bump look really obvious! How did that happen it's the size of an apple pip!

Woodelf · 24/02/2005 13:09

Wow Fastasleep! You've got a bump already? Not a hint of anything for me yet and I feel pregnant so I guess I want to look pregnant too! I did get a couple of maternity tops for the summer from a good friend but they look rather silly at the moment so I guess I won't need them for at least another month or so. Even the tits aren't growing much.
Have a question about breasts! I had a lumpectomy many years ago which has left me with only one functioning breast that will be any use for feeding; is it realistic to expect to be able to breastfeed? And just how daft am I going to look with one HUGE tit and the other one flatter than a pancake???
