Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Joseyjo · 21/02/2005 12:39

Lexie - well that sounds ok!!!!

SusiS · 21/02/2005 12:46

josey: it will be fine!!! vibevibevibe

i'll have my gp app on thursday; nowhere near a scan or mw app!!!!

i am off soon to take ds baby signing. will take my thoughts off feeling sick hopefully

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 12:53

gonna wait to book myself in with docs as obviously moving.... going to ask for a dating scan just to be sure as last af was 2 days of spotting rather than full blown. my last full blown was xmas eve!

are internal exams the norm then? Never had one with jess?!

Fastasleep · 21/02/2005 12:56

Josey - good luck vibes!!! But...woodlouse? Do people call beans that? shudder

Kiwifruit · 21/02/2005 14:49

Just got my booking appointment/scan date - it's not until 29th March, so I will be around 13 weeks, which sounds a lot later than some people on the forum. Anyone else having their first scan so late? Am very excited though...

Have hit the mid-afternoon slump - feeling completely exhausted (but not sick at the moment, so that's a plus!).

Lexie100 · 21/02/2005 15:05

my first scan is the 4th April i'll be 11 weeks.

Kiwifruit · 21/02/2005 15:11

Thanks Lexie, that makes me feel better - my appointment was actually for a week before, but will be in the States (shopping trip that has turned into a Maternity clothes shopping trip! ), so had to postpone for a week.

SusiS · 21/02/2005 15:17

oh kiwi; where are you going? and for how long? very nice

Kiwifruit · 21/02/2005 15:21

New York for 4 days, and Chicago for 5 days - can't wait! Think I might pick up some baby stuff as well - haven't bought any yet, as feeling a bit supersitious about hitting the 12 week mark first...

SusiS · 21/02/2005 15:35

oh what a nice treat!!! any special occasion?

Kiwifruit · 21/02/2005 15:49

Ummm, Easter? No reason really - we're trying to get a few trips in before we go back to NZ in November, as things are much closer (and cheaper!) from here than they are from NZ. Also need to take advantage of it just being the 2 of us!!

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 18:46

Just told dad..... took it quite well i think! Bit shocked!

SusiS · 21/02/2005 19:10

why shocked???

marinda · 21/02/2005 19:14

Woodelf Nuchal has too be done between 11 and 13 weeks so fold is right size to measure.
Susi I am also 8 weeks today - we have same delivery date !!!!!!!! Tee Heee. Also Cori as well. Should be game for a laugh !! Nausea slightly better today but puked bile this morning - loverly !!! DS was so sweet and got me a cup of water !!!
Josey jo sorry to be nosey but is there a reason for you having an internal ? I thought it was not common practice and carried a risk of miscarriage !

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 19:16

he didnt know we were trying for one - he has assumed it was an accident so i aint gonna put him wrong! i think he would have wanted a bit of a larger gap than 15 months!

SusiS · 21/02/2005 19:20

lol jessmum, it's not that he has to look after them

ha marinda!! let's start the race
i think it'll be a girl this time.
i was never sick with ds and am feeling miserably with this one

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 19:21

So..... who is finding out the sex of their baby then????

hushh · 21/02/2005 20:18

We might although haven't discussed it yet. I was so convinced I was having a boy last time (& we did) that this time I have an inkling that it may be a girl but I don't want to count my chickens. I'm now 6 weeks & felt a bit 'wobbly' today, not exactly sick but not 100%. Last time I kept a diary of how I felt but typically I can't find it now to see how it compares !

Kiwifruit · 21/02/2005 20:18

Not sure if I will be 13 or 14 weeks when I have my scan, so that means might not be able to have a nuchal. Should I ring and try and change, do you think? Have already changed date/time twice - they'll be getting sick of me!

DH wants to find out sex, but I don't, and am winning the argument so far

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 21:12

i think we have settled on the fact we are going to find out, i was so sure i was having a boy last time but of course ended up with jessica (who i wouldnt swap for the world!) so we have decided we will find out but not tell the family or anyone until it is born..... our little secret!

Elf1981 · 21/02/2005 22:06

I want to find out the sex but DH wants it to be a surprise. I think we made a couple of bargains a while ago - such as "if you do this, I will agree not to find out the sex" but I really don't know what it was I got in return! Can't have been that important.

Feeling a little eurgh today. Not too bad in the mornings but seem get start getting a little sicky in the evenings. Last night woke up at 12:00 feeling really sick, and tonight I feel a bit rough too. Never mind. It's probably because I had a late dinner tonight (8:30) after going to see FIL.

Still a bit secret at the moment.

Very tired still. DH has decided that I must take an hours nap each night when I get home, about 6:00. Got into bed this afternoon, thinking "like I'm gonna sleep". 6:15 and it was all zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Hope everybody is feeling well. Still waiting for appointment with midwife. Grrr.

penpal · 21/02/2005 22:22

Woodelf - regarding my miscarriage, definitely more support from friends than from family, different reasons. They just hugged me and I didn't need to say much, family seemed to want to ask questions and details, which I did NOT need at that time. Some (close) family didn't say anything and at the time I was upset as I felt as though they treated me as though I was getting over a cold. Obviously just didn't know what to say. Still can feel the horror every time I needed to pee and what was happening at the same time... Do you have any other children, I have a DD 5+8 months, and DS 2+3 months.

Bonniej - how about you, you are due on same date, do you have any other children?

Joseyjo - re correct growth at early preg scan, tell me about it!! Experienced this at 2nd pregnancy. I have had bleeding on and off since 5 weeks but not yet rung my doctor, at first I was waiting for that little bit of support from Dh. However, spent the last 11 days dealing with a bad ear infection and perf ear drum with DS2, went back to docs today but no way I could ask for a referral to Early Preg Clinic with a 5 and half year old and manic escapologist 2 year old in tow recking the waiting room, whilst there!! Will ring tomorrow as bleeding/spotting more often now .... If the baby is miscarrying I can't stop it happening by going for a check earlier, I'll just know earlier. My reasoning. Sort out the kids first. I've no-one to look after DS age 2 until Wednesday anyway so if I get to docs tomorrow hopefully they can see me at the hospital on Wed.

Good luck to everyone.

penpal · 21/02/2005 22:32

Just read that post and I sounded so neg. I actually feel SOOOO pregnant with more symptoms, more pronounced than in either of my previous, which were very very successful and enjoyable pregnancies. I only felt some discomfort at the very end, obviously. At the moment I feel sick if I eat, and sick if I don't, I had the mad flushes at the beginninig, boobs tender and bigger, stomach feeling bloated all the time, spots breaking out on my face, at the very beginning had a rash over my chin and neck (like previous pregs for first 5/6 weeks), tired, oh my God, first few weeks I wondered why I had extra energy in the morning but crashed earlier at night. At the moment I can hardly move during the day and crash even earlier at night (had a nap today with 2 year old . If I didn't have the two children I'd be sleeping 18 hours a day and eating the rest of the time......

SusiS · 22/02/2005 07:06

it's all white here and still snowing! first proper snow since i moved over here - well excited!!!

AND i am feeling quite good today!!! not nauseas so far touch wood

penpal: hope you'll get your scan!!!!

and re finding out the sex: yep! we want to know - also i am 99% certain it's a girl!

hushh · 22/02/2005 07:56

Quick - reassurance needed. Had some spotting this morning. Not a lot at the mo. I had the same with DS but at about 8 or 9 weeks (I'm 6 at the moment). I know its quite common - any advice ?
