welcome kiwi and congrats!!!!
yes, that tiredness! hopefully it'll pass soon! i am so worn out all the time
and am too am naseause almost all day - luckily not really sick. but it does keep me from eating - might even lose some weight

where in nz are you from? i've got a friend over there! - and same here; no family because i am actually from austria

Kiwifruit · 20/02/2005 20:30

Hi SusiS
My family are in Christchurch, but we were living in Auckland for 3 years before we came back to London. Have been here for 18 months, and the plan is to head back to NZ at the end of November, which will be an interesting trip with a new baby!

Would be nice to think I'll lose a bit of weight from the nausea, but so far am valiantly eating through it :-) Trying to do a bit of swimming to keep it under control, but am finding my lack of energy a good excuse for not doing that!

jessicasmummy · 20/02/2005 21:43

so... when is everyone due?????

penpal · 20/02/2005 22:05

Hi, due 8 October. Not yet booked to see the doctor but as will be my 3rd baby (miscarriage between 1st and 2nd) I'll probably get it booked next week. Dh still not come round; shock, anger, every single frustration, you name it. Frankly I'm getting fed up with waiting for him to come to terms. I have loads of pregnancy symptoms so really do feel that this IS happening and I want to plan a bit, won't tell anyone (except my best friend) until after 12 weeks. Just want to be able to get excited!!! In fact today I felt really really sad, as though he is taking something away from me and that it's my fault he is feeling like he is! Almost feel that if we don't get over it, this will be bigger than it needs to be. Men. Take so long with their emotions.............

jessicasmummy · 20/02/2005 22:14

Have had the complete opposite here.... DH well excited and me not so sure! We have said we are gonna tell my dad tomorrow - DH is gonna phone him and tell him - that was the deal, if i fell pg he would tell dad! We are moving house at the weekend so i dont want to have to make excuses for taking things easy, so would rather dad knew - will hold off tellnig anyone else though!

SusiS · 21/02/2005 07:06

morning ladies! yes, quite a rough ride with all those emotions!!! - i am sort of excited but i also try to stand back one step and "watch it from the outside" ifykwi! so many things can happen - won't though
dp is very excited!! he told me he is so looking forward to be a dad again
we haven't told anybody yet - will wait till 12 week scan
i am 8 weeks today

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 07:25

suis - you are in the same position as me re age difference - are you worried what the family will say??? I KNOW I AM! Still no pg feelings re sick or anything - maybe the 2 tests lied?!

Fastasleep · 21/02/2005 08:29

Nah Jessica you know they didn't lie! I don't feel as pregnant as I did last time lol although my boobs have grown about 3 inches overnight!!! ...

Welcome and congrats kiwifruit!

I know this sounds daft but I'm becoming a bit nervous about getting on the bus with my DS to go to the groups we normally go to.... we have to fold up his pram and shove it on the bus and I have to carry him at the same time... and it's two buses to everywhere and I'm so tiiiiired and what if I poke myself in the belly with his pram (if only it wasn't half term last week and I could have just gone to all the groups as usual lol)....ok I sounded so silly then pregnancy makes me crazy and befuddled honestely lol

Fastasleep · 21/02/2005 08:30

honestly*!!

madness · 21/02/2005 08:41

good morning. No sickness here either, not sure whether to be happy or not. With dd I knew before testing I was pregnant, had these "hot flushes", but don't have these now. Bit worried something is wrong. Certainly won't be telling anyone for ages!

I have told both sets of grandparents and my SIL and my hairdresser. Everyone else can wait for easter.

Considering how much they have all been nagging me to have another they were slightly cool. Sort of "ooh, thats nice. Pass the peas". I don't know what I expected, not even dh is as excited as me. I am not telling ds until the scan. I am not sure what his reaction will be. He loves babies but probably won't like living with one.

I dont feel too bad today - famous last words.

Fastasleep · 21/02/2005 09:04

Ooh I remember you now ticeratops, I used to live in Starbeck lol... miss the nearby country loads now

Lexie100 · 21/02/2005 09:04

You are sooo lucky you don't feel sick. I have a constant sick feeling which lasts just about all day. I haven't been sick which i think may help but hay ho.

Boobs are huge DH loves them but ohhh so sore.

Very tired - went to bed at 8.00 last night although still feel tired today

Congrats all new mums to be

SusiS · 21/02/2005 09:11

gosh jessmummy, wanna swap? you can have my nausease feeling
you've got a 9 month old one too????

lol not worried; they can't change anything anyways - besides that, my family lives far away - it's just dp's mum who might come and invade us

Woodelf · 21/02/2005 09:41

Hi Penpal! Looks like you, me and BonnieJ all due on the 8th! At work this morning and hoping the nausea holds off as I have to give a presentation....bleurgghhh.
Told a very good friend of mine about being pg yesterday, she was so excited it was quite emotional really. Am not telling family etc till 12 weeks if I can, my friends were far more supportive when i had the miscarriage and I feel comfier talking to them.

Lexie100 · 21/02/2005 10:07

ohh woodelf GOOD LUCK with the presentation.

jessicasmummy · 21/02/2005 10:11

ive got a 7 month old dd.... so this is gonna be interesting come october! DD will be 15 months old and a newborn - i must be mad!

am i the only one here that is a bit unsure of how they feel re another baby? maybe its still the shock???

SusiS · 21/02/2005 10:41

not unsure; i guess i've "accepted" that bit! but sometimes quite scared - with 2 so small ones!!!

morningpaper · 21/02/2005 11:47

Went to bed at 6pm last night and took this morning off work - so tired and feeling nausea! Told my mum and brother over the weekend - just over 7 weeks and feeling so dreadful that I'm feeling a bit more positive IYKWIM ...

Desperately need a haircut and eyebrow shape but can't face the thought of going to the hairdressers feeling so ill!!! Will have to look like a moose for a few more weeks...

OP posts:
Joseyjo · 21/02/2005 12:00

Blimey!! this thread has been busy over the weekend. We had visitors, so I had to pretend NOT to feel sick all the time whilst cooking huge quantities of food that made me want to retch.
Am very cross with asda - openened a yoghurt last night that wasn't out of date until 25th and licked the lid.... moldy fur on tongue, much vomiting!!!!!!! I think dh worked out how sick i am really feeling for the first time!!
Anyway, I get to see my midwife today - same as last time so that will be good. Then I have my first scan on Friday... absolutely terrified about it. It is to date the pregnancy, or more accurately to tell whether the bean/woodlouse/grain of rice is growing correctly. Last time it wasn't and I am sooo scared of something being wrong. Lots of positive vibes my way please?!!

Joseyjo · 21/02/2005 12:03

also... have eaten half a pack of ginger biscuits already this morning - they do definitely help the sickness, but not the weight!!

Lexie100 · 21/02/2005 12:17

Joseyjo,

i have a scan on friday too so i'll be thinking of you. I'm sure everything will be fine and dandy.

Must eat something for lunch...i think it will be gingernuts and vitamin pill as am feeling horrid

Joseyjo · 21/02/2005 12:24

Lexie,

Have you been told what to expect? I am assuming it will have to be internal at this stage (8 weeks)? I had to ask whether they wanted me to drink and all the secretary said was "It always helps!". What does that mean?!!!!!

Lexie100 · 21/02/2005 12:31

Due to Ectopic scare i have had 2 internals and it doesn't make a difference if you have a full bladder or not. I think it does for the normal scan as that is what i am having on Friday and she did ask me to have a full bladder for that(7weeks).

My internal was fine. You take all the clothes off on you bottom half and she puts a condom on this willy shaped thing and k y jelly and hay presto. You can't feel it. You can then see the image on the screen. I haveno idea how they know what is what but she'll point out things to you. For the normal scan they just out jelly stuff on your tummy, you pull your trousers down a little, and she presses rather hard but you are too busy looking at the screen.

I have to go back to see if my cyst has grown.

It really is nothing to worry about. Let us know how it goes.
