OK let's take a deep breath and begin...

morningpaper, expecting #2, due 8 October 2005, so currently 4 wks to the day...

Hoping that someone will invent a new form of pain relief in the next 8 months....

Kent - just outside bromley. I think i'll check.

tiggerintum · 17/02/2005 20:09

Definately, I would you need to check that you & bubba are ok and have all your bloods checked & your weight, height and they need to record all your family and personal medical history!! So lots that need to be done!! Let me know how you get on!!

Lexie100 · 17/02/2005 20:14

I'll phone again tomorrow. Thanks

cori · 17/02/2005 21:28

Lexie, your not the only one. I am 7 wks + 2, and am yet to have a confirmation letter from hospital or midwife appointment. Went to see GP 3 weeks ago, I will be calling them on Monday to find out whats going on.

Fastasleep · 18/02/2005 08:30

I'm 5 weeks and I already have my booking appointment at the beginning of March... the first scan should come the week later... definately check! And if they don't offer you anything complain and ask to switch to hospital only care if you can - at least they always do the scans on time! (I did that last time)

morningpaper · 18/02/2005 09:29

Spoke to Doc on phone this morning - don't even need to go in and see her! The midwife will make an appointment to come to my home for the booking-in visit in the next couple of weeks.

going to ring today. Have not done anything about it yet, but best to get the ball rolling. With dd midwife came to my house when I was about 12 weeks I think. I woke up this morning feeling very sick. Still sitting here in pjs as can't be bothered to do anything. Lovely little dd stayed asleep until 9.15!! which was fantastic but I still feel like I've only had a couple of hours even though I went to bed at 10pm. One good thing, I've got boobs like Dolly Parton. DH well impressed

morningpaper · 18/02/2005 10:38

lol I am in my pjs too!

SusiS · 18/02/2005 10:53

yep, pj's here too

me too bonnie, i was really feeling dizzy and sick all morning; just now it's wearing off slowly. can't face to eat anything just yet

Woodelf · 18/02/2005 11:44

Hi all October due ladies. I am due on 8 October and as it will be my first am v excited. Have been trying to keep it quiet but due to tiredness and slight dizziness & nausea at my fencing class last night my friend overheard me asking my instructor how long I can carry on attending! So the cat's out the bag now and I'll have to tell our mutual friends.

This morning I got an appointment for blood tests etc at the local clinic, but it's not until April 4! This seems a heck of a long way off and I have seen no-one except my doc for a brief appointment. I am also a bit older than the average and have miscarried before so I feel a bit isolated and unsure.

morningpaper · 18/02/2005 11:56

Hi Woodelf, when was your last period? Mine was 31 Dec and I can't work out exactly when my due date is. Not that it REALLY matters I know.

Glad you are with us, I'm sure we are all cacking our pants as it's such early days! But we seem to all be pretty lucky so far so hopefully we will all be big and fat and ready to pop by October.

OP posts:
Woodelf · 18/02/2005 12:01

Hi morningpaper! If the first day of your last period was 31 Dec then in theory your due date is 7 Oct. My doc put me at 8 oct because I'll be blowed if I can remember my last period and it was a fair guess! (A lot happened over Xmas and new year so I wasn't really paying attention...).
Definately an element of pant cacking will kick in I'm sure but I'm a bit disappointed at no cravings and I'm still eating everything I ever did including sipping a nice cuppa tea... Feel more bloated and fatter but still weigh the same...

marinda · 18/02/2005 12:03

Morningpaper, my first day of last period was 27th december and my due date 9according to dr) is october 3rd- so I guess that makes you October 7th/. Hope this helps How are you feeling today - I felt sick ALL last evening and hardly got any sleep - so feel pretty bad. DS just had MMR and pre-school booster - poor lamb cied so much.

morningpaper · 18/02/2005 12:06

I thought it would be 7th but Doc this morning gave me 8th.

7th is dd's birthday! Bit worried that I might give birth and she will have a bit of a crap birthday with her parents deserting her!

I feel much the same dreadfulness as usual - nausea all the time. I am in bed by 8 most nights and sleeping like a LOG for 11 hours - I'm SO lucky! Sorry for those of you having trouble sleeping.

One thing I keep doing is turning in bed in my sleep and getting the most AWFUL pain my abdomen - must be the muscles settling in one position or something. Seem to remember it from before.

SusiS · 18/02/2005 12:26

hello woodelf and congrats! so how long can you keep fencing?? - lucky you that you haven't got any symptoms - yet
am not too bad with sleeping; oh just you wait till you've got that biiiiiiig bump

bonniej · 18/02/2005 12:37

hi woodelf, congratulations and welcome to the october club. The first day of my lmp was 1st Jan so I'm basing my date on that. That makes me due 8th October (according to pg calculator). Both my previous preganancies have gone exactly a week overdue so am presuming same will happen this time. I too have had m/cs in the past but trying to keep positive. I've got a good feeling that we'll all be fine this time! (me and dd still in pjs I am being a very bad mother today)

Woodelf · 18/02/2005 12:46

Hi SusieS! I can keep on fencing up until I really start to show apparently so I should be OK until end april. I don't really want to be prodded in the belly though so I need to improve my skills and move a bit quicker! I love it though so am buying myself a sword so I can practice at home even if I can't make the lessons!!!

triceratops · 18/02/2005 13:43

Hi Woodelf and Fastasleep, congratulations - I am imagining a baby woodelf, sounds very cute and a fastasleep baby would be fantastic too.

I told my hairdresser today as she told me I looked awful. Thanks a bundle.

cori · 18/02/2005 14:00

something is going wrong here. I recieved a letter for my booking appointment today, for the 15th of April by which time I will be 15 weeks pregnant. I am also expected to make an appointment for my scan before this, at 11 weeks before even seeing a midwife. There has obviously been some mis communication somwhere. calling the GP now.

Woodelf · 18/02/2005 14:07

Hi BonnieJ, it will be interesting to see if we really do have them on the 8th! Was hoping to get scans earlier than 13/14 weeks though, can this be right?

morningpaper · 18/02/2005 14:10

My scan will be between 12-14 weeks. I think it was 14 weeks before. I think the little one grows a lot in these weeks so the later the better (so they can see what's going on). And you get a better piccie!

Woodelf · 18/02/2005 14:21

Hi triceratops! Great name, wonder what a little one of those will look like?
Rotten hairdresser! My boss is also my hairdresser but he hasn't noticed me being off-colour just yet or dissed my hair as he cut and coloured it recently...

cori · 18/02/2005 14:29

I have made scan appointment for 4th of April , am pleased about that. Cant get through to GP or Hospital about midwife appointment though.

Fastasleep · 18/02/2005 14:33

A fastasleep baby would be blissful wouln't it!

Theo just ran off with my cordless mouse for the fifth time already today lol...

We tried to get out and about and busy today until I realised that my DH had been a bit rough with the stroller and bent a ....thingamyjig...so it won't fold up to go on buses anymore! Argh! Was stood at the bus stop kicking it while getting red in the face lol...

It's Theo's first birthday today, yay! Except we have this family dinner party planned and I'm exhausted like you guys! Sat here looking at the mess and wondering if I can stomach the home-cooked indian!!

Fastasleep · 18/02/2005 14:35

I had my first scan with Theo at 11 weeks... he was big enough then for a good piccie and we saw him wriggling all over and stuff ....do remember to get the pic cos they're great!
