Ouch! I didn't read the whole article but I'd have to agree with Sazzles on that quote. Is it wrong that we use fire now too or should we still be living in the ages prior to that advancement?

TwilightSurfer · 23/06/2008 22:31

OOoof...not trying to heat the thread up just the thought in my mind. I don't really care what folks think. Sounded quieter in my head. No harm intended.

farking hell - I must have skimmed that one - sorry

am not a lentil weaving soap boxer I promise, am just trying to convince myself I CAN do this

my bad

I have absolutely no problems with CS and having had one myself am fully appreciative that they are NOT the easier option

I just don't want another one and reading everything and anything people recommend

don't worry Sazz - the book am going to send you is NOTHING like that at all

TwilightSurfer · 23/06/2008 22:41

You do what you have to do...in my book. Everyone I know who's had a CS said they'd do it again if they had to. It's a medical advancement that SAVES LIVES.

Dizzy you'll do very well when it's time. This will probably be THE BEST BIRTH on record!!

dizzydixies · 23/06/2008 22:46

I found it hellish to recover from, then I had a horrible trial of labour prior to C/S so felt violated both ends iyswim, dd2 was a harsh feeder and sitting her on a healing scar was sore never mind on bruised and batter fanjo underneath and dh doesn't have a lot of time off to help aid my recovery

am just trying to cover all bases but from what I understand an ELECTIVE C/S is a much more civilised affair to recover from so its still very much an option

some of them can be a bit IN YOUR FACE but I tend to ignore those - its all about the selective reading in this house

Morning ladies....ds1 had me up erly today, there's just no guessing which one might wake the bear from hibernation!!

On names - i love Zara think it's great, but i like unusual spellings, so i'd add an H at the end. We're sticking with delilah as offical name but will call her Lilah....

Ladies of the UK, today is Tuesday which means Heat day. Go forth to your local newsagents and purchase a copy of said comic quality magazine (nb. heat is available from all good retailers ).

I must admit to buying it every week.....

Having posted about the maternity unit in Nottingham, I have to say I have nothing but praise for the unit and the staff who work there. I did not meet a single grumpy person and I was treated with respect and kindness. The unit is generally very clean with hand gels at every doorway, which I even saw the doctors and consultants using . The shower in our 4 bed bay was a bit 'chatty' (ie. could have been cleaner) but i still used it - and I'm still alive!!

Happy tuesday everyone - what to do today?....

CaptainCaveman · 24/06/2008 09:08

'Lilah Bealcain'....now there's a name!

CaptainCaveman · 24/06/2008 09:12

I knew a girl called Danila, pronounced Dan-ee-la. Only one I've ever met.

I like Zara, sounds quite posh to me (associate this with Zara Phillips).

Also went to school with a Cecilia (we called her Cecil), a St Muir (see-more) and a Headwin!

cyteen · 24/06/2008 09:21

Morning girls,

Just popping in quickly before I go off to meet my NCT group (am determined not to be 30 minutes late as I have been every other time ).

Zara: I quite like it, and know a lovely Zara, but think I prefer Vita.

Births: agree that whatever gets the baby out safely on the day is for the best. A friend of mine had planned a drug-free homebirth and ended up having to have an epidural and ventouse, but she says she really didn't care by that point and just wanted it done with and her son safely here. I really don't want a lot of intervention, hence hopefully going to the mw-led unit, but if things happen on the day that make it necessary that's just life innit.

dizzy a friend of mine has had three sections, two emergency and one planned, and says the planned was an entirely different affair - much calmer and easier to recover from

Ended up going to bed at 9.30 last night as I was so exhausted...roll on Friday, no more work for this one please. Think baby is tired too, he's been very quiet this morning and yesterday after kicking seven bells out of me all weekend. Maybe he's going through a growth spurt again? How much bigger can he get, my bump is already vast beyond belief. Although I was looking at my back view in the mirror last night and realised that I really am carrying it all up front - from the back you can't even tell I'm up the duff, I've even got a waist and everything!

We'll see how long that lasts once the baby's here

PetitFilou1 · 24/06/2008 09:24

Bealcain I like Lilah

gigglegirl - thanks for the prompt about M&S 3 for 2 school uniform! Will get onto their website.

CC If I bought Heat (and brought it home) dh would disown me

Back later when I've done some work!
