miamla I'm well impressed with you giving that twat cyclist what for - I am pathetically weak in such situations and usually too shocked to stand up for myself. However, I can see your DP's point of view, you really never know how people are going to react so it's potentially a dangerous situation - my DP gave the wankhands sign to some idiot who'd been driving up our arse for a few miles on a narrow country road, and the guy screeched to a halt, leapt out and threatened to stab him! So do take care of yourself chick.

I don't know about anyone else, but I have been feeling much more vulnerable over the last few weeks. Normally I'm quite sanguine but now that I'm so weighed down and off balance, I seem to see possible threats in everything Maybe this is just what continuing sobriety feels like.

ahh girls, thanks for concern, sorry to worry you there. Took dh into town then called mw who said, as dizzy told you, basically keep an eye on it. She said it's possibly "old gubbins" coming away (technical term?), or possibly a show. Very nice though and said yes it was right to call.

Ds now in bed with numerous teddies and a magic wand (!). I'm off to eat some more and put feet up. How did it get to bed 10 past 9 already?????

ataraxis I didn't see blag posts but did similar to you! Had bottle of lav. oil so dripped that onto pillow (poss should have left it standing open), didn't have marjoram, meant to get some today but got distracted by rather sweet pair of ruby slippers in Clarkes at half price... and forgot. Oh, and the lavender didn't cure anything here either... however am willing to fork out for bottle of oil which can use in burner etc if doesn't work.

cyteen I know what you mean about the vulnerablity and how it sort of creeps up on you. I have been physically fine for ages, today considered taking DS out on bike (me on mine) and absolutely shrank from it, thinking my balance will be suddenly gone, my reactions poor, etc. And I can't see me getting over that in 5 weeks - if anything surely I get less and less able.

Anyway. I suppose from here on we start retreating from the world a bit anyway, i am hoping for a bit of nesting anyway (strangely lacking here) and finishing work and chilling out etc and holing up at home.

Has anyone been round the labour ward yet? we missed out with ds as he was 3wks early, but did read it's a good idea for when your other kids visit so they're not scared. what do u think??

bigboy surely your kids will only come to the matty ward, not the labour suite? I didn't bother with dd1 when having dd2 - she can to the ward, only in a bay and was too excited by present that baby had brought her to care

children are more resilient than we give them credit for and will treat a trip to hosp to see mum and new baby as an adventure

dizzy you can get them there, my friend did that, but she said the quality wasn't as good and sometimes it takes aaages to arrive. But it's completely up to you. Main thing is remember it's YOUR CHOICE and your friends and family should be supportive regardless of which way you choose.
