Arrr minipink wish I'd known I would have been giving you some "stop the contractions" vibes too!

Hello Polyxene, aggie and donut. The more the merrier for us! We talk loads you're right, you'll have no chance of going back over the old threads as you'd deliver before finishing them- so please feel free to add to the chat!

Docs did say I could realistically walk round for another few weeks at 3cms so this one won't necessarily come any earlier than expected. Darn! (although on Monday when I'm 37 weeks I will be ordering a fresh pineapple and raspberry leaf vindaloo with a clary sage chaser )

Plus the baby is back to back

Earlier in the week, monday I think, Pigley and I were both posting that we were enjoying fresh fruit salads and mine had a couple of slices of pineapple in it- that evening the BH's were def worse so am wondering if that had anyting to do with it... or maybe the lifting/carrying of godson on Monday when I babysat for him, or the walking I'd done early Tues am to book TENS machine (ha! how ironic) or or or... oh bloody hell I don't know it'll come when it's ready I suppose.

Off to eat now, am famished after all the hospital crap!

Oops sorry computer said no

Kaz1967 · 12/06/2008 21:49

The good news is I have finished every thing for college handed the last piece of work in today (which did not know about until Monday this week but only 1000 words easy peasy LOL) last exam done and passed but ask me nothing about maths because my brain is now officially switched off and being pregnant. Portfolio on tutors desk with list (only 2) work needed back such a relief something I do not have to think about any more

Taken all books back so ended up which also meant going to the Library in Bristol centre, Knackered when came out and getting lots of BH so went to sit in cathedral noticed they had a service on at 5 so put feet up enjoyed the quiet and then went to sung even song. Bump defiantly reacts to the organ although I am not surprised the whole wall behind me was vibrating (in an nice way against my back organ was above me)

Got home from college about half 6 so so tired so sore and just crashed out slept until half 8 Still ache think tomorrow is going to be bed rest and do absolutely nowt and see if I can regain feet rather than these trotters.

The flat rang my solicitor but she does not work on a Thursday she will ring me back tomorrow morning but I also rang the estate agent I am buying from and explained things and that they might have a few properties from rightmove from me and why and she explained. That properties were not always registered if they were bought before 1985 and is going to chase up the owner and deeds. Feel a little bit better. Also spoke to Mum because she is being my bridging loan between completion on my place (going to be delayed for 3 months so he can get round retention) and buying other place and she was a little bit funny about the work that needs doing on the flat it's chimneys do not have mushroom caps so the rain comes straight in and there is no one living there so it is a little damp around the chimney breasts the surveyor said it was relatively easy to sort out by just putting a mushroom on top and when I said I was intending getting a solid fuel burner he got all excited and said that was just what it needed too and was perfect and reassured me wood and smokeless fuel were easy to get hold of in that area Went through all this and other places I have looked at (in Boston sadly no in the same village ) and why I ideally still wanted flat (proximity to Friend, village location, toddler group, shop, church etc) and she is fine (my Mum is never fine ) and still willing to act as bridging loan with the flat if it works out or another property up there.

Now I have done the me me me bit I am off to read what people have been up to today.

Kaz1967 · 12/06/2008 22:06

gilly Have a serious convo with your consultant my best mate had really bad SPD was on crutches support.... and was induced at 36 weeks (considered preterm but term is from 37 weeks but babies this gestation have no probs) because she was totally unable to cope any longer.

Kaz1967 · 12/06/2008 22:13

Welcome Polly

sweetkitty · 12/06/2008 22:19

kaz - I can understand this completely I think the MW is worried about me and if I go overdue I could be looking at another 6 weeks of this sometimes being induced at 39 weeks seems like a brilliant idea.

OP posts:
pigleychez · 12/06/2008 22:22

Minkus-
Dont think it would of been the pineapple. DH bought 2 huge fresh ones that he cut up so have been eating it all week and nothing for me. I did think about it bringing on labour whilst eating it on tuesday so googled and yes it does contain an enzyme in it that can bring on labour but apparenly you would need to eat 7/8 pineapples to have an effect.
but hey, im no scientist!

purplejennyrose · 12/06/2008 22:35

Gilly - sorry about crutches, they are very frustrating aren't they! Although I do get tempted to trip up rude bargy people with then when I do venture out!
I have to say, there are moments when I think I don't mind if this baby doesn't turn and I do have section at 39 weeks! Bit scared of going into prem labour though - could all get complicated!
My dd has a nipple obsession and knows exactly where baby's milk should come from. She walked up to the bras in Sainsburys today and said 'nipples!nipples!' very loudly.
Re mooing in labour - I became a hippo last time during contractions...
On holiday now - with PIL for couple days then off to Pembrokeshire - lovely, seaside!! Will have email access so will keep checking for any more arrivals.
Baby has hiccups all the time...

Poledra · 12/06/2008 22:46

Aaargh, dishwasher has just packed in - why do these things happen when you have the least energy to cope with them??
Not stopping as am too grumpy to talk to anyone.

ButterflyMcQueen · 12/06/2008 22:47

welcome polyxene hope to get to know you better!

my baby hiccoughs all the time - i have started to find it a bit annoying!!

the baby turned at the weekend from breech to head down and woooooahhhh what a difference!!

suddenly twinging spd where there was none and shooting pains in bladder and bits? tell me about it...not nice

but......and its a big but..... dp had a client in tonight who saw me with him earlier in the week and told dp i was 'gorgeous' this at 40 and 36 weeks pg !! he must have been looking from a distance! (no seriously!)

a thought girls - get your dh/dp to take pics of pg form
you never know when it might all be over so do it whilst big and calm or else you may regret it
this will most likely be my last so we did some last night and may do more tonight if i can be bothered as it is such a special time and should be savoured

i went to tesco tonight for one thing and ended up at 7pm starving and dragging a huge fit to bursting trolley which included 15 lbs potatoes 6 pineapples and 30 pints of milk

my body aches!

CilC · 12/06/2008 22:50

Welcome Polly - feel free to talk about your SPD etc. A lot of us understand!

Gilly I also totally know how you must be feeling. I found crutches really helpful but sadly I have had to resort to wheelchair when outside. Don't push yourself too hard as my physio said that you can do some permanant damage.

Will also be seeing my consultant next week to discuss having LO earlier as SPD is sooo bad. Other's may also want to go down this route as Kaz mentioned.

Does anyone else feel all read out/over baby talk and just wanting to do something totally different... I am feeling very restless and I am sort of sick of baby talk (please do not take offence) and my pregnancy. Just want to hop in a car and take off somewhere...

I worked during my last pregnancy and was quite busy, I think this time I have been too organised and with all the sickness, broken ribs and pain have been quite housebound with far too much time to think.

I think these labour scares are definitely an indication that more little babies will be born very soon!

Well time for me to go to sleep - and a way to stop me from eating...what is it with my hunger???!!!

CilC · 12/06/2008 22:53

*permanent (sorry was an english teacher and have a spelling thingo obsession so have to fix). See look how sad I have become

disneystar · 12/06/2008 23:14

cilc i had to laugh at your spelling above when i read it
i am an english teacher and noticed that one but you rectified it before i could laugh

i knew you were a teacher thats how i noticed

my bet several pages ago was minipink to deiver next

i wish mine would decide to come ive been feeling odd last few days like i am washing floors on hands and knees and all the toilets on the house behind them moving things to clean as well

booked a holiday for a week in great yarmouth end of august so hopefully i will be up and about after section im hoping im not being a bit premature here as ive never had one

just my little lad whos 8 next week has a rare form of skin cancer and has really been through it lately just to see him smile is going to make me so happy, even if i am hobbling about
this place is so encouraging though as i often sit here and wonder if all these aches and pains are normal or is anything wrong with this pregnancy and i look on here and we have all kind of got the same things going on
eg pressure pains or spd mild or bad
hardly walking
swollen feet and ankles
tbh i havnt packed my bag yet arranged anything at all and the time is going so fast i dont feel like its dragging at all,so much to do so little time
anyone else like this?

disneystar · 12/06/2008 23:15

minkus my baby is back to back to great eh!!!!

disneystar · 12/06/2008 23:20

poledra sorry your dishwasher has broke i would hate it if mine did how would i cope?

Polyxene · 12/06/2008 23:48

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

Sorry to hear so many others here have SPD and on crutches too Toddler does make it a bit harder, especially as he likes to keep borrowing one to use as a hobby horse!

Well, I'd best try to get some sleep now; best wishes to all

Polly xx

FenLondon · 13/06/2008 07:05

really, really must get bag packed... Trying to keep it to one bag if I can, had to spend the afternoon at Guys' antenatal day unit last week and saw a couple of DPs struggling to carry lots of bags round. Mind you, maybe they should have some struggling to do... .
One more week of work, thank heavens as it's been 12 hour days for the past four weeks.Feeling like it's making me a bit of a b(h though, in that I'm expecting my team to put the work in too. Oh well. They can moan about me when I'm out.
Best discovery of the month - Becks Zero Alcohol beer. Made those few hot days a lot more pleasant!

isaidno · 13/06/2008 07:59

Minkus - I would be gutted to have stopped labour! I can't think of anything better to be doing than having a baby at the moment! MW coming this pm with the home birth kit, so it would be nice to have a baby this evening! DS1 asked this morning if the baby was coming before Christmas! I bloody well hope so!

Minipink - hope you hang on to get the birth you want!

Welcome polyxylene! Will add you to the list.

pigleychez · 13/06/2008 07:59

Morning all,

Fenlondon- ,my hospital bag has evolved into 3. I wanted to keep mine to 1 bag too but just couldnt get it all in no matter how much i tried!
Baby clothes, nappies and general baby bits are in the bag that came with my pram, then everything i would need for both labour and on the ward are in another. These are the 2 that DH will bring in with us.
Theres going to be a third that will stay in the car with extras in it..extra nightwear incase i need to saty in longer etc.

Butterfly- DH has been taking photos of my ever expanding bump. Its sooo funny looking back at them - And to think i thought i was big at 20 weeks-- its nothing compared to now!

pigleychez · 13/06/2008 08:02

isaidno- at your DS! bless!
