Heffagooday · 23/06/2008 18:09

Pigley, that's a bit grim! Definitely wouldn't fancy that I'll just have to hope DH hasn't been researching it!

I've been telling DH that he's going to have to get over his 'but there's a baby in there!' squeamishness soon.

Donutmum - hope your DS feels better soon

Am skipping antenatal class tonight as it's a tour of the unit (I've already had several tours) by evil tactless MW.

EEC · 23/06/2008 18:57

Pigley - it's so good to laugh - haven't felt like it much recently! (laughing I mean - but certainly not feeling like the other either!)

Have fun on your tour. Found mine strangely comforting!?

disneystar · 23/06/2008 19:06

ohhh pigley i was eatin a mouthfull of crisps when i read that i nearly spat them out

Kaz1967 · 23/06/2008 19:12

Ok big decision to make.

It does not look as if The house or flat sale will go through for a while but my best mate who is one half of my birthing partners has asked me to come up and stay. It was actually her husbands idea he said he would come and pick me up, Sue said they would clear out the back room and make that my bedroom until when ever. Now they have a full house already, her husband (nearly ex) is sleeping in the litte'ns room, the boys have the back bedroom and Sue and little'n are sleeping in her room.

I want to get up there, I desperately want her and my doula to be with me not stuck down here. But I feel like I have so much to finish off here re the house and I am worried that the house will be really full.

gillythekid · 23/06/2008 19:23

Pigley DH just read that and gave me a right mouthful.
(sorry, he made me write that!!!)

Mummywannabe · 23/06/2008 19:49

Gilly - your Dh sounds lovely. Bless him

Pigley - oh my, will keep that to myself i think!

Donut - sorry your DS is poorly. I know when i used to get bad tonsillitus (had it every month or so for a year until they took them out at 23) the swelling made my tonsils touch and that made me sick, i found ice lollies great for that.

Clic - poor you, makes me feel like a whimp for all the moaning i do, nothing much wrong with me.

sweetkitty · 23/06/2008 20:38

Go out for the day and lok at what I miss

Firstly libralady CONGRATULATIONS welcome to little Luke, can't wait for pics and the whole story now

pigley - sorry to be the bearer of bad news but I tried both the natural prostiglandins both routes and still didn't work, DP said it was the most unerotic time he has ever had as well

kaz - difficult one for you don't know what to suggest really, I don't know how well you know your friend and how confortable you will be in her house, but if you feel comfortable then go for it.

justjules - your day sounds about perfect am so

gilly - about the wheelchair but bkess your DH

Donutmum - sorry to hear your DS is ill hope he's on the mend soon

Rumpel - thanks for measuring your DD, mine is 90cms so I'm sure she will be fine, am now questioning how long this pram will be useful for though, she is walking loads now but I do think things will change once Winter comes and I'm on my own.

CliC - what a nightmare you poor thing hope you are on the mend now (well as much as you can be at 8 odd months pregnant) as everyone says not long now

Minkus - can't believe you are comtemplating food shopping there is no way I could do it now, get it online

catec - sorry but I was lol at your MIL's advice, not at the advice because it's top notch but the don't feed to sleep thing, fine in theory but in practice another story

Had a lovely day at the safari park, hardly walked anywhere though DP wouldn't let me. DDs had a fab time though.

at some of the bump sizes on here, I guess mine is all out and front theres hardly anything at the sides, right off for an ice lolly

purplejennyrose · 23/06/2008 21:58

Libralady, congratulations!! soall the early stuff wasn't in vain...
Bebejones - hadn't looked at your profile before but just have from your last post - we may be near neighbours - I live in Stroud! Don't have a profile and don't normally mention where I live, but couldn't let that one go!! Stroud Mat is fab, even if you transfer there after giving birth somewhere else - it is so, so good, the care is second to none. IMHO! - and lots of others'!
Pigley - re prostaglandins - mmm, no chance!
Def no more false labour here (just evil evil SPD) so throwing myself into sorting out cleaning and organising house! Well, OK, not throwing more leaning gently with lots of chocolate breaks..
Aah, just had a very clear arm / elbow push right out of my side about a cm out!! And there is a foot in my cervix!!

Kaz1967 · 23/06/2008 22:03

bravisimo would be my suggestion too great for bigger boobs

disneystar · 23/06/2008 22:06

purplejennyrose i live in gloucester we are just a few miles apart i live on the A38 on way to stonehouse

disneystar · 23/06/2008 22:12

bebjones do you know quedegely? in glos

mcchesers · 23/06/2008 22:12

Evenin'all..

So lots of big bumps. I dare not measure myself but a few weeks ago I was exactly 9 toilet paper squares across. I'd venture to say I could easily pass 12 squares today.

SK- Sounds like you had a fab day out.

I would have loved to have gone to the safari park today, but I was napping out of sheer exhaustion and then busted tail to get the flat polished. Our visitor loved the flat and she is going to see a few more, but she seems the most promising thus far.

Gilly - dead jealous of your flowers, what a lovely surprise!

Rumpel- Hope you are getting in some good quality time with your folks.

Clic- Nightmare..and the gall bladder as well! Hope you are taking it easy.

Anyone know anything about itchy hands? I've got tiny clear bumps on my hands..just the tops not the soles or my feet and they are driving me mad!!

Poledra · 23/06/2008 22:14

Evening all

catec yes I did have appendicitis at 31 wks pg last time. Was very very scary though not as bad as if it had happened earlier on. The worst thing that would have happened to the baby was she would have delivered early, and she was already weighing about 6lb then, so would have had a good chance. As it was, she hung on in there till 2 hours after her due date, and weighed 8lb 15 . It was hard being in hospital though as I was in the maternity unit and the mws were more concerned with people who had just had babies. In the end, in order to get a shower, I had to get my mum to come in one day and help me as nobody else had time. Just as well I get on with my mum, as she had to dry me after my shower as I was unable to do it myself - she did laugh that it wasn't something she'd ever expected to have to do for me again

gilly your dh sounds lovely. My dh isn't romantic and thoughtful like yours, but on the other hand, he did fix the dishwasher over the weekend as promised - hurrah!!

Final word on strechmarks - does anyone else remember that bit on Shirley Valentine when Tom Conti's character kisses her stretchmarks and goes on about them showing she's a real woman and some such, then Pauline Collins looks straight at the camera and says 'Aren't men full of shit?' Always makes me smile when I think of it.

disneystar · 23/06/2008 22:25

poledra yep i remember that bit she was sooo right there!!!!

my stomach is like a road map with every baby i have had its stretched a bit more and more lines on it
my kids laugh i say this is when you were in my tummy aj and the line went to nannys house then this is where charlie was a few more lines to nannys house on the way to town

basically my tummy tells a story and with now 7 babies thats been in there it goes on for a long story and hence to say many many stretch marks

when i say to my dh omg look at that he kisses my tummy and say he loves me and thats our babys house right now
it sounds nice and cute but i dont say nothin but shirley valentine got the words right

Kaz1967 · 23/06/2008 22:34

disneystar yo are right they appear to only go up to a 40 you can however get extensions to make the back size bigger but you would need to go in somewhere and get fitted because if you can only get a 40 with back expanders then you will need to go up a cup size of 2.

I don't know what shops you have in Gloucester or if you can travel but there is a fantastic shop just outside Bristol in a place called Keynsham called Perfect Fit best place I know for measuring and fitting you properly

disneystar · 23/06/2008 22:38

thanks kaz il take a look

CilC · 23/06/2008 23:00

Finally I have managed to catch up!

So glad to hear all is going well Peanut ! Love the piccies of little Charlie...what a cutie!

Hope all is going well for you Tjuice and Minipink

Congrats on your two little boys Twinkle !Their birthday is the same as my DH and he is wonderful!

Lovely name for your little girl ISAIDNO! Congrats!

And wow LIBRALADY. Within a page or 2 you had delivered! What a fine effort!

Katz not sure what I would do...sounds like the situation is a little fraught. Is the baby's father able to help? I think I would rather be on my own than staying in a house where there are "couple" issues...

Gilly make sure you use a good cushion with wheelchair. Your bottom gets very stiff and if your DH is a new driver like mine prepare for a few bumps and bangs! So glad your DH is being loving and kind.

As I said stretchmarks...I have them and I am quite prone to them. But they do fade and I agree with Catec, a bit of sun really does help. It is the over stretched flabby skin I hate.... The best part of being pregnant is that all the loose skin disappears and my tummy skin is now firm!

I got DH to measure my tummy again...it is only 112cm! So much better than 123cm I measured in bed last night! Got a bit worried! I do know that MW have to highlight weight/large bump sizes. Sadly they do not always do this diplomatically! The thing is if they don't and something happens...well the hospital cops it. But I am definitely proof that final weight and size of baby does not always relate to how much you eat during pregnancy!

Pigleychez you make me laugh! Your attempts to bring on birth and your studies gave me a good laugh! I could have sone with reading that last week!

Poledra had a traumatic two nights in high risk maternity suite. So I can relate. MW were so unhelpful - but then I officially complained and they got worse. I have little time for many MW and their political agendas, pious points of view and disdain for Consultants... and I did not get a single second of sleep. Demanded DH get me a private room - luckily they have a private wing at Kingston.

disneystar ...any more predictions?

OK very long post but hopefully I have managed to catch up on everyone's news. Think I might try and get some sleep now. But like most of you I feel quite ready to meet my new little man.
