gillythekid · 23/06/2008 13:06

YES!!!!!!!!! Someone finally picked up the phone at the Red Cross. I shall go to the ball. Now I just have to get rid of the headache brought on by being stuck to the receiver since Friday.

Heffagooday · 23/06/2008 13:16

Congrats Gilly!

Mummywannabe · 23/06/2008 13:27

Blimey you lot were busy last night!

Congratulations Libralady!

Re: size - i'm 111cm, put on just over 2 stone. 2 weeks to go

Read all the posts but can't remember a thing!

Phone finally all sorted now! Spent 3 hours essay writing this morning, have one more to do before little one arrives, getting there slowly.

Right off for some lunch.

catec · 23/06/2008 14:08

Wow, Libralady, that was speedy in the end - congratulations!

AggiePanther · 23/06/2008 14:09

Congratulations Libralady!!!!
Well done!!

Glad you got it sorted Gilly

JODIEhavingababy · 23/06/2008 14:19

Gilly glad you can go to the gig! I'd love to see Radiohead, I bet they'd be great. I'm a bit of a sucker for live music, doesn't matter what it is... (within reason! Who's supporting?

DH is being so funny today, he's had to go to Bury St Edmonds with his boss and his boss's boss for an all important meeting with one of their customers and it's 2 hours away and they have all gone in one car! he is calling me every chance he gets to make sure I'm OK!! Bless him... He also had his last night of drinking last night, so I think it's finally dawning on him that we are going to be having a baby!

I also feel Very Pregnant today, lots of discharge (sorry if TMI) and boobs are rock hard and achy, LO can't keep still and my trousers are too tight (will put my trusted yoga pants on in a min, they are just on the line!) Keep expecting to stand up and waters break it feels that tense 'down there'

CilC · 23/06/2008 14:27

Hello everyone! Wow all these new babies - will post longer thread once I have read through everything.

I have been in hospital for almost all of last week. I had a gallstone stuck in my bile duct and needed key hole surgery. All very touch and go as to whether I should have baby and gall bladder removed, but in the end all sorted for now.... Basically one consultant against the other (obviouly trying to do their best for me from their surgical angle) - but in the end DH and I made decision.

Have c-section planned for 14 July still, but may have sooner, all still a bit up in the air.

Incredibly tired, sore and quite emotional.... This has had to be one of the worst pregnancies on record! But despite that, my DS is doing very well and I have had the opportunity to see him in scans I have had to had! He is a big boy and a strong boy. Nothing seems to have effected him!

I have measured myself - 123 cm!!!! Hmmmm. Stretch marks have also begun to appear but as LO is transverse they are only in my upper stomach, just under boobs! At least most of you have them low down and will be able to cover them!

I have not put on any weight this rpegnancy, infact I am about 5 kg less than when I fell pregnant. Not bad...but I have paid for it!

Anyway congrats to everyone with child, hugs to those in pain....trust me I do understand! I need an hour or two to go back over thread and catch up! Though I saw somewhere that someone was showing off their body??? Did I miss something?

Take care!

Poledra · 23/06/2008 14:29

Congratulations libralady - that was fast in the end (tho' I guess you had quite a lot of pre-labour to put up with!).

too busy to post - at home with dds, had the tree surgeons here at 8am to sort out damaged tree limb, then someone to fix the chip on the front of th car. Got a bit of a respite, then off to mw appt with dds in tow! That should be fun...

Haven't measured my bump or weighed myself in weeks - don;t really care. Quite gald not to have to wear my pinstripe maternity trousers anymore as they were getting more than a bit tight. Loads of BH but no other signs at the moment. Need it to stay that way till I get my hospital bag packed (dh did suggest last night that maybe I should think about getting that ready - 3 more weeks to go but after all the early ones on here, I think he's getting nervous )

Poledra · 23/06/2008 14:33

Oh and re stretch marks (loved your stretchnarks, EEC!), mine did fade quite well. Also, I have a mahoosive scar where I had my appendix removed when 31 weeks pg with dd2 - even that has faded quite well. I wasn't much of a bikini wearer before, but I could probably still get away with a high-waisted one (well, not right now probably, but before this pg I mean!).

So CilC, all sympathies for your gall bladder op - I know a bit of how you feel - at least it was keyhole, so your recovery shouldn't be as bad. Rest and let everyone else look after you!

bebejones · 23/06/2008 14:40

WOW Congratulations Libra! Fantastic news!!! Can't wait to see pics!

Heffa Wasn't my usual MW, so needless to say I will be glad when she is back in 2 weeks! Really dreading the idea of Delivery Suite and was seriously hoping to be able to go to the Birth Unit, I have 2 available, one in Gloucester Hospital and the other is a seperate unit at Stroud. So will be having serious words with MY midwife when I see her next!!!

Had a scrummy lunch and am trying not to let the meanie MW make me feel guilty about the very large bowl of homemade chocolate trifle! LO really enjoyed it and is now bouncing around all over the place. (As she usually does when I have chocolate!!)

Heffagooday · 23/06/2008 14:54

CilC - sympathy for your gall bladder problems. That must have been a nightmare. Hope you're feeling OK.

Bebejones - glad that's not your normal MW. My BMI was fairly high pre-pg, and no-one ever told me I couldn't use the birth unit because of that. Sounds like she's just being a bit of a cow tbh. Very of your chocolate trifle!

RUMPEL · 23/06/2008 14:59

Hi All,

Well done LIBRA! Really quick in the end - lucky you! Love the name Luke too.

Welcome JACOBS.

Sorry to all feeling hellish.

My parent's have been here since Friday and it has been so nice to see them. DD has been thoroughly enetrtained and loved to death Mum has been a star and cleaned everywhere for me and I have been able to rest as they have been watching DD.
to see them go.

Thought I might be kicking off yesterday - felt really 'off' all day - disjointed and spaced out, really sick and jus not right but am better today. Bubba has dropped considerably - am measuring 126cm around my bump! Have put on 2 stone this pg - a wee bit less than last time but carrying totally differently - much less fluid retention this time.

SWEETKITTY - remeasured DD with the hlep of my Mum and she is 89cm tall (did it myself last time and she was wriggling) but she was out in the P+T Sat and Sun and loved it.

Well must go awaken DD as she has been asleep for ages now!

Take care all

PEANUT - good to hear from you again and glad Chrarlie is thriving.

Got MW tomorrow - it is my birthday tomorrow too - 36 years old and now 36 weeks pg!

DonutMum · 23/06/2008 15:13

Congratulations libralady. Looking forward to the full story and pics.

Had my homebirth kit dropped off yesterday so am now the proud owner of a vial of syntocinon which is currently living in the cheese box in the fridge.

DS1 v sick today - tonsilitis and it's caused him a terrible tummy upset. He vomiting in my flip flops this morning (I was still wearing them), after he's been sick on his bean bag. Then he sat back down on his bean bag - into the pile of vom. It would be have been if he wasn't so sick, bless him. And he said, mummy Logan can't some out yet or i might be sick on him. Anyway, hope the antibiotics kick in properly soon.

Take care all. And isn't it a lovely day!

gillythekid · 23/06/2008 15:33

CilC Blimey, you have been through it! Hope you're feeling ok.
My day just got even better. Picked up my wheelchair and arrived home to a knock on the door with a beautiful bouquet delivered from DH to say thank you for growing our baby! Nearly cried. Think I'll try and seduce him in my massive knickers and nursing bra after the gig tomorrow, we just ended up laughing last time as access is a little tricky!
Who's next to deliver then?

AggiePanther · 23/06/2008 16:07

Awww how lovely gilly

Wow CilC you have had a tough time of it. Bet you can't wait for 14 July (or sooner!). And wow that you have lost 5 kg - that will be a pretty dramatic weight loss once LO is born.

Poledra - did you get appendicitis at 31 weeks during your last pg? That must have been pretty dramatic (and traumatic!) too.

As if pg isn't enough to cope with without needing surgery for other ailments!

gillythekid · 23/06/2008 17:02

Jodie Just watched that link from the last page...hilarious!!!! Hope you're more comfy in your yoga pants! I think the support group tomorrow is Bat For Lashes, I meant to see her at Glastonbury last year but got stuck elsewhere (probably in mud!) She's a bit Bjork like, very kooky.
Thanks everyone for reassuring me re stretch marks, I feel very shallow and vain worrying about it, makes me feel silly when I think about Peanut and what she's been through and now with thrushy nipples...my heart goes out to you, you're a trooper!
Aggie I'm very lucky with my DH, I appreciate him every day, he's my best friend and the most thoughtful. loving person I've ever met, I feel really honoured to be having his baby!
Hope you're all ok today, this last bit must be hard for all of you with other DC.

Heffagooday · 23/06/2008 17:05

Justjules - what a fab sounding day!

Gilly - lovely husband My stretch marks are terrible too, but I read this article somewhere about them being marks of experience so I'm trying to think like that.

catec · 23/06/2008 17:07

And Gilly, how lovely - what a wonderful DH! I envy you though if you have the energy for after your gig tomorrow!

Jules - your day sounds perfect! That is definitely how I intend to start my mat leave next week. Mmmm.... only 4 days to go...

AggiePanther · 23/06/2008 17:15

Gilly - I know what you mean - I feel like that about DP

catec · 23/06/2008 17:16

Awww, you've made me go all weepy! All the love!
I saw Bat for Lashes at a festival last year, she was great.
Re stretch marks - I've always been prone to them, got them dreadfully during puberty all over boobs and thighs (just the thing a self-conscious 13 yr-old needs!). Best thing for them is a bit of sun exposure I've found. Fades them fast.

EEC · 23/06/2008 17:41

CilC - you poor thing. What a lot to deal with. Hope things start to get better. Glad LO is doing well.

Libralady. Huge congrats. New baby news is the best! I love mn!

Donutmum - lots of get well toughts for your DS.

Gilly and Aggie - lucky you with lovely DP's. Mine is cooking tea for DC's at the moment so can't complain too much here. Ups and downs! He does make lovely children too!

37 weeks now, so anytime now would be good (I'm sure I'll still be here in 5 weeks!)

gillythekid · 23/06/2008 18:00

Oh good God EEC the thought of still being pregnant in 5 weeks fills me with dread but it's a realistic prospect that my brain refuses to entertain. No one in my large Irish catholic family has EVER been induced and I'm clinging to the vain hope that baba will come early. No stress though!
By the way Catec, I don't have the energy for marital shenanigans but I figured it's been so long that he might have enough stored up (sorry for TMI!!) to soften up my cervix in one go so that I go into labour immediately!!

pigleychez · 23/06/2008 18:06

re- marital shenanigans.... I did some research on this earlier and this is what i discovered...
It is thought that prostaglandins are absorbed more efficiently through the gut than through the vagina. (Note: you may prefer to keep this piece of information to yourself.)

Off for our tour around the hospital in a tick..

Will catch up with all the news when i get back
