Congrats to MiniPink and Isaidno!! 2 more gorgeous girls!!

Been having possibly THE most stressful week ever, which considering it is my first week off is really upsetting!! Just so sick of this stupid credit crunch nonsense. Not even been married 7 months yet and its all debt and struggling, and I can't take alot more of it! Is it really supposed to be this hard? Plus our tennant in our flat is moving out in 2 weeks and we cant find anyone else to fill it...so will have 2 mortgages to pay and no rent! Then the council stuff up our direct debit and demand 2 months council tax plus charges by the end of the week! Petrol is ridiculous and my mileage has doubled now as DH doesnt drive and I have to do 4 trips a day instead of 2! And the baby is just around the corner and I have no idea how we will ever manage to afford everything! And I am desperately trying to stay positive because DH has been having Panic attacks about everything and subsequently Im exhausted but not sleeping! My mum and Grandma have been bailing us out for months and I just feel so guilty and useless! I know this is way off topic, I'm just so worried. Last week we could barely scrape the money together to buy food. Just cant wait for pay day, it's been the month from hell! Sorry to drag everyone down, just really needed to get it all off my chest. Cant really tell anyone in RL, DH doesn't like people knowing. Miraculously despite the stress LO is still doing fine and blood pressure is still good!! Just so miserable knowing it's just going to get worse, I desperately want her here but panic at the thought of how our finances are going to cope.

pigleychez
Thinkin of you, get yourself in to hospital and rest hun.

Sweetkitty
IF your not up to tonight dont go (make DP feel even more bad) and have a nice bath and a treat maybe a movie and something nice to eat. Let DP look after DDs this evening as in doing the tea's bath and bed and see how he likes it.. I know its easier just to do it yourself but let him see how hard it can be... Men can be so me me me at times!!

Hope i am next to go here.. cant wait to meet this little one.. I think DP thinks this is a boy!! As everyone keeps telling us i am having a boy!! Ahhhh haaaa i know its a girl

bebejones · 19/06/2008 15:08

Sorry just read that back and its so ME ME ME!!!

Pigley hope all is ok. My bp is notoriously high and docs have been monitoring it all through pregnancy. If the bottom number is under 90 they seem happy enough. Fingers crossed for you. xx

gillythekid · 19/06/2008 15:16

bebe the situation sounds awful but don't despair. Can you get some independent advice? DH were in financial hell when I lost my job last year, we went on moneysaving expert.com and made loads of little cutbacks that made a really significant difference.
I've had to become like a war time wife with food etc, I plan all the meals for the week so ingredients can be all used up and nothing goes to waste. I plan to breastfeed and use reusable nappies in an attempt to save money as I have no maternity benefits at all!
I hope things work out for you re the flat, can you go all out to find a tenant? Ask EVERYONE you know, post little ads locally, at work etc? Seems to be so many more people renting as the buyers market is so bad, there must be a way to tap into it.
Good luck and that's what MN is for, getting it all off your chest!

pigleychez · 19/06/2008 15:18

Bebe- thats why they wanted me in as its over 90.

Best go get my bags ready and in the boot just in case!

Libra1975 · 19/06/2008 15:20

Pigley - sure everything will be fine, good luck at the hospital.

Bebe - sorry you are having such a rough time at the moment. Can you ring the council and explain our financial position maybe they will let you pay in installments?

bebejones · 19/06/2008 15:36

Good Luck Pigley have everything crossed for you! Don't worry, it will be fine!

Re finacial situation, its just a complete mess! DH works in mortgages so some 'solutions' are just no go areas if we still want him to be able to work! Council were complete bastards (sorry), said it's our legal obligation to pay our council tax.....never mind that it was their fault!! Said they had sent 2 letters......erm, what letters? We never got any! It was like talking to a brick wall, we finally managed to knock off the charges but still had to pay the arrears!!
We have cut back on everything that we can. Got letting agent looking for tennants and have put cards in windows etc. Have just had credit card company ring and chase late payment....they jacked their rate up and our payments have doubled! And in these turbulent times no one will transfer the balance!! It's just never ending! It's just so frustrating when we both work in finance! Loads of companies wont help, citizens advice were useless, and apparently we earn enough between us to cover our debts!! Well, ok so we can pay the debts, but then cant pay the bills or eat! Im sure it will work itself out, I mean something has to give! (probably my sanity!!!)

Heffagooday · 19/06/2008 16:21

Pigley - hope everything goes OK. I've been monitored throughout for my BP and everything has been fine. It tends to stay around 90, and they now only need to get concerned if it goes over 100. It's been stressful though. Thinking of you! xx

Libra1975 - we have the Dash Deluxe in Ocean Stripe. It's absolutely gorgeous, and DH is very pleased that he can happily use it. It matches our buggy perfectly too - the green is the same green as the bugaboo green. The bag itself isn't too vast, but seems to have plenty of space and lots of pockets. I've been having fun packing it up today . I even managed to get hold of some Waitrose bottom butter yesterday to put in it. I'm very chuffed with it and pleased that my sis picked out something so ideal.

Catec - baby shower sounds lovely, what a wonderful sister! Hope you feel better soon.

Isaidno - thanks for update! Am definitely going to stock up on pineapple now

SK - sorry to hear about your DH being a prat, I hope he's suitably apologetic!

My best friend has just been round staying overnight. We don't normally see each other much because she's living in America so it was great to catch up. Feeling very perky now.

BrownOwl18 · 19/06/2008 16:53

Congratulations isaidno - Poppy is beautiful.

I know you'll be at the hospital now pigley but am thinking of you and hoping your BP has settled.

disneystar · 19/06/2008 17:12

pigley you are in my thoughts hun xxxx

catec · 19/06/2008 18:02

Pigley, hope everything is okay - and after you had such a good night's sleep too!

Bebe - financial worries are the worst - they seem to really affect everything else. I am not sure where you live but have you tried to list your flat on Gumtree? That's how almost everyone I know looks for flats/tenants. I am sure everything will work out for you.

Heffa/Libra - I have just ordered the Skip Hop Duo in Olive (DP's colour choice) and the Pronto (change mat/clutch) in the pink stripe for me (to thrown in my cavernous handbag) - it is such a great range.
And yes, Heffa, my sister is a gem - I am the first in the family (I am the eldest of 3 girls) to have a baby and they are all so excited for me (and themselves!).

Snuck away from work at 5 on the dot so am at home with my feet up already! Now, if I can just get DP to make dinner...

Mummywannabe · 19/06/2008 19:17

Hi

Pigley - hope your ok hun.

Bebejones - feel for you, DH and I had conversation about finances etc as well tonight. we have been in our house for 2 years, coming to end of fixed rate mortgage (100%) so were are in trouble really. Not gotta remortgage till Feb so will worry about it in the Autumn. Have a few ideas about lecturing for OU when degree is finished to make ends meet. Bloody credit crunch, would all go pear shaped just as we are all having babies.

Rumpel - not heard of Pollena - will look it up. Thanks

Sweetkitty - hope you DH redems himself soon.

Feel much better tonight have pulled myself together.

Arrr Pigley I do hope all is well with you sweetie- really thinking about you and Mr Piggles. (But if you dare have that baby before me you'll hear my wails from here DISNEY SAID I WAS NEXT AAAAAARGH!! )

Bebe I second what gilly says, moneysavingexpert.com has been a lifeline for us in the past when things get tough and I will no doubt be returning to the fold as my maternity pay drops over the following months. (Warning though it is nearly as addictive as mumsnet!)

Off to sort out the bbq, it's been a nice day here and so we're roasting raw meat over flames. Well dh is it's his evolutionary prerogative. (Me man you woman me eat burnt meat)

hehe jules would be nice! But sadly no signs of anything here (apart from mild periody pains but even that's diminishing )- but there is a pineapple waiting in the fridge and if dh is lucky my naughty shoes could get an outing tonight . Not that I could bloody well stand in heels anymore mind you!

pigleychez · 19/06/2008 19:49

Hi everyone,

Well just got back from the hospital. Was monitored for ages and BP was back to normal again!

Midwives at the hospital could find no reason why my blood pressure was soo high earlier at my appointment. Hadnt rushed to get there or anything, perfectly calm. Very odd!

Just been told to rest and call them if i feel bad or get any pains etc.

Thanks for everyones concern

Dont think baby liked the monitor as it kept kicking/pushing the monitor thing and hasnt stopped squirming since!

Its ok Minkus-- your next dont worry!
Lets hope disney is right for you

Midwife did comment about the baby being ready, in prime position and asked if id thought about it might come early so watch this space!

JODIEhavingababy · 19/06/2008 19:53

Pigley I hope you are OK? My blood pressure is always on the low side (100 over 60) and in my last pregnancy it got to 90 and I was admitted for 2 nights (found traces of protein in urine and lots of swelling) It was nothing in the end, but they like to be on the safe side... So thinking of you tonight!

Disney Blimey!!!! That's all I can say really. I'm glad I'm on your thread! You need to give us an updated 'who's next' list now ISAIDNO has popped!

JODIEhavingababy · 19/06/2008 19:58

Glad your OK Pigley Just you put your feet up now and let DH do all the cooking, cleaning, etc!!

Bebe I meant to say, I know times are really hard and I second what gilly said and menu plan the week, (boring I know) When DS was little (3 months old) I started an Avon round, it didn't pay a great deal, but it all helped, it also meant I got out and about with the buggy, rain or shine! It really helped me shed those pounds!!! I only stopped it when I got pregnant again and was too shattered to think!

twinkle1 · 19/06/2008 20:46
