Minipink - fantastic name choice although I am going to say that aren't I? no Abbie is a beautiful name for a beautiful baby, hows she settling in? What do the others think of her?

Oh I so want my little girl out now.

I went on the trampoline today and OMG I wasn't bouncing just sitting on it and crawling about pretending to be a monster as you do but I had to come off and go an pee mega quick, felt like the baby was about to come out. Do you think a quick bounce might kick things off in a few weeks if I get desperate?

CliC - that is utterly disgraceful the way you were treated and your poor DD I would go mental if anyone poured hot coffee over one of my DDs and the gingerbread man but don't worry you don't have to pay for it. Am so on your behalf, would be writing a stern letter to the HO if they have one and a call to the local paper might be in order, pregnant woman in a wheelchair and toddler = great story = bad press for them.

Minipink lovely to hear her name, it's so pretty- is Susan your name? (recall in the distant past you were called ScottishSusan!) What a beautiful thing, naming her after her lovely mummy

CilC what terrible treatment! Can't believe that anyone could be so mean as to deny someone quite obviously in pain cold water. Ridiculous. Hope blisters aren't too nasty.

Hello Trespass nice to "see" you- hope things have been straightforward for you so far.

Need your opinions ladies- over the last few days, well since my labour "scare" on Tuesday/Weds really I've been having what I presume to be a show -sorry if TMI but it's like browny/clear jelly mucousy stuff in my knicks/when I wipe and lots of it. Does this sound like it is a show? Didn't have one with ds (presume it happened during labour when I was a bit, er, distracted).

Well I'm 37 weeks tomorrow and since I've had one false labour already (plus lots and lots of other labour-like twinges) I am hoping this babe feels nearly ready to come out! So I'm considering getting the curry house menus out to choose dinner from tomorrow night Libralady Polyxene Isaidno and Mummypig you are all due in the week before me have you embarked on anything vindaloo/pineapple/clary sage-like so far? I know there's not much point in doing anything really as the baby will come when it's ready, (and that might be 37 weeks or 42 - gulp) spicy food or no spicy food, but I think having a "project" might make the final few weeks go quicker

isaidno · 15/06/2008 20:51

Minkus - I have been drinking raspberry leaf like it was going out of fashion, been for several long walks, been bouncing on my ball longer than I've sat still, jumped up and down, and still no baby.

I don't like pineapple, but will buy one tomorrow, and will have a hot curry in the week.

Sounds like you're more ready than me!

JODIEhavingababy · 15/06/2008 20:56

Sorry meant to say earlier welcome tresspass and Minipink Abbie susan is a beautiful name.... I was just so for cilc that I forgot!

Minkus I don't know if it's possible for you, but try reflexology, I've been having it regular for general aches and pains, but when I was 38 weeks with DS, I was so fed up I went to him for the very first time and told him that if he could, then to press all the right bits to bring on labour. (I know they can do this as I was talking to a midwife about it, but professionally they aren't supposed to do it until after the 40 weeks) So anyway, that was Monday, I went into labour on Weds!!! RESULT. The next session I have is at 37+2 and have told him I want the same treatment!
As for your show, I'm not too sure as I never had one with DS either, but I thought that it was supposed to come away 'cleanly'????

minipinkscottish · 15/06/2008 21:02

Thanks all for congrats

Sorry to hear about your treatment Clic - awful - thinking of you!

Re iron level - I have never been on iron before but was told after delivery that iron level was 9 and was put on iron - maybe that's why I was so tired although i didn't realise

Away to bed for an hour or 2 before next feed xx She is doing well with bf but is a little jaundiced today and my milk is coming in tonight so will try to feed often to help xxx

sweetkitty · 15/06/2008 21:20

Ladies I know we are all desperate for these babies to come out but TBH I don't want her out at 37 weeks I would rather wait another few weeks. I have had a 37 week baby and a 42 week one and the differences were astounding. 37 week one jaundiced difficult to feed, looked little and scrawny, had to be readmitted to hospital, 42 week one (not that I would wish anyone to go overdue ever) was a lot less worry, big baby, easy to feed, held her head up from day one, reached her milestones earlier etc.

I'm just saying a few more weeks can make a big difference, chances are more of us will go overdue than early.

Oh I'm one of the early ones though 39 weeks for me

Minkus,

I haven't started anything yet apart from the RLT, as I'm not due to finish work until the end of this week. DH is away at the moment so I am panicking. If baby arrives this Friday night Saturday morning it would be ideal as it will mean that DH won't have to be away fro 7 days solid with work as he should be home Friday night before going away again Sat morn.

This may sound really wicked, but do you think I could do a DIY sweep - a sweep worked wonders for DS (although performed by my consultant) Could get DH to assist on Friday night to see if it gets things going. I have my £1 pineapple at the ready along with essential oils. Draw the line at injestion and castor oil though.

Minipink. Huge congratulations. Abbie is a lovely name.

Am now worrying that sonographer may have got sex wrong so we have been trying to think up a girls name today.

What do you guys (truthfully) think of Megan Louisa?

sweetkitty at my 11 week bloods i was 9.5 i think for iron they never told me i needed iron tablets no one told me my iron was low by week 28 i had to go to hospital with breathing difficulties and severe tiredness i was also fainting so no i was not ok,they checked my bloods again and i was 6.3 hence the injections
i felt so so ill never again was also told i might have to have transfusion at section

the hosptial went mad that mw failed me and didnt notify anyone of my low bloods

i thought it was my diabetes as im on insulin
i dont know what they are now im having bloods redone tomorrow but would presume higher than previous 6.3 as i am not so ill now
but tbh i suggest all women check there notes as did not and missed something i relied on the mw to tell me

yep my money here is on minkus and isaidno!!!!

pigleychez · 15/06/2008 22:07

Hi all,

Spent the day visiting our parents for Fathers day. Both sets live miles away so took hospital bag and car seat with us just in case.

Had horrible pains earlier, kinda crampy pains on the right hand side and top of my bump. Thankfully calmed down after resting but def makes you think at this time. (36 weeks)

DH got a Daddy to be card which he was chuffed with

Clic- What awful treatment!! Id definately be complaining!!! hope it didnt ruin your day too much.

Minipink- Lovely pics Love the name too. Abigail is on our list for girls.

Kinda getting eager to meet this LO now but can see SK's point about abit longer.

Lady asked today how long i had left and was really shocked to hear 4 weeks. Said i was tiny...... makes a change to being huge!!

Had lovely cuddles with little Neice Tiffany today... untill she had an explosive poo that covered herself and the new bouncer that mum/nanny had bought a few hours previously!

ButterflyMcQueen · 15/06/2008 22:24

hello all

minipink - lovely name not at all what you had planned is it!!
gorgeous little bab she looks all peachy not early at all

am of 6lbs some baby mine will be huge

pigley - yes i get comments all time on small bump which
is tosh i am just tall

am not doing rlt - cant face it but would love an early one - can someone please decide that i will be next .....(unlikely but i can dream!)

re 'home sweep' a gynae friend swears by them so i for one will be asking dp for one - a quick slightly uncomfortable rummage should do the trick!

ate whole pinapple the other night and felt quite rough tbh so may limit quantity- easier said than done!

got some lovely pg bots from m and s outlet today - got 12 long and moaned all way home about them not having 10's
got home put them on tried them on and 12's are fine!!

MINNIE1 · 15/06/2008 22:38

Hi
Gosh so much to catch up on, minipink congrads have to catch up on you..

Had a rough couple of days, DP has not been very well. Last Wed night he suffered a convulsion or seizure and was admitted to hospital! He is now home but we are none the wiser as to why this happened.. He had a CT and all clear, he now has to do a EEG test and awaiting an apt for that. Worried out of my mind with the whole thing, and he is still not right in ways.. Thank god DDs did'nt see it and that i was only just gone to bed and heard him.. He is not aloud to drive now due to the convulsion and could be off for a year or more! Which is a small price to pay, as we live in the country he is finding that tough.. I think if i didnt go into labour in the last few days i never will......

Hope you are all well and off to catch up..

ButterflyMcQueen · 15/06/2008 22:42

MINNIE! are you ok?
that sounds terrible i hope they get to the bottom of it quickly please try not to worry...did they give you an inkling of possible cause? is he well otherwise?

i hope you and dh have a few days good rest before the baby

do you have family near?

MINNIE1 · 15/06/2008 22:54

He is only ok, in some ways i think he has changed. I am full time watching him, cant leave him or DDs. But is could be worse, i guess. Family are all around and are a great help. It never rains but it pores.... Feeling i could have lost him and it scared the hell out of me..

ButterflyMcQueen · 15/06/2008 23:10

well the upside is that whatever it was -was waiting to happen so at least he will get a diagnosis and treatment

try to rest now (not easy i am sure) what is your due date?

CilC · 15/06/2008 23:47

Evening everyone...thanks for your thoughts on day's events.

Minnie - so sorry to hear about your DP. I really hope all is ok. Obviously you do not need the extra stress...I do hope this was a one off...sending many positive thoughts to you all.

Minkus - does sound like a show...ooooh you could be next! At NCT class the woman described it as a raspberry jelly like substance.

Minipink - love the name Abbie.

Libralady - I too have been having the same worries and dreams that I am having a girl. LO's nursery is all blue and have bought a couple of blue items off internet. A while ago I gave away all of DD's things and about three weeks ago I had such a vivid dream I was having a girl. Last scan the legs were together and they could not re-confirm. Oh well as long as they are healthy blue things will do no harm!

Fell asleep at 8pm this evening and only just woke up, but now I can not sleep again. My sleep clock is haywire...just preparation I suppose!

libralady · 16/06/2008 06:19

Minnie1 - what a shock for you. I sincerely hope you and your family get over this. Lucky you have family around to help. Try to relax as although it is stressful and easier said than done, it's not good for you or the baby. Huge cyber hugs to you.

isaidno · 16/06/2008 07:19

Minnie - hope your DH is okay ((hug))
I'm still here; thanks for the prediction disney - I'd like you to be right again. Then you can become the official birth psychic of the thread!

Morning all, not much to report here, horrid pain in my pubic bone below the bump, tried my support belt yesterday and it made things worse, we went to Tesco's yesterday just for a wander and on the way back I was getting sore BHs, think DP was panicking so I told him unless I am doubled up in agony and can't talk ignore me. He said if a BH is a 3 whats a contraction at the start I said oh about an 8 rising to a 10.

Have started taking 3 RLT capsules a day will ramp it up to maximum 6 at about 37-38 weeks. Remember they don't make you go into labour they are just supposed to make it easier

Minnie - so sorry to hear about your DP last thing you need but glad you have family around you.

Minkus - sounds like a show to me, fingers crossed. I had a show about 10 mins after my waters went first time it was about the size of a 10p, mostly blobby with a tinge of pink, with DD2 it was just clear and blobby.

disney - thats terrible they should be ckecking your iron more carefully, I know I have had an extra blood test due to having a homebirth and mine has never dropped below 12.

CliC - sometimes I feel the same I have had about 3 dreams about having a boy, I have drawers full of pink and a girls name chosen but you still have niggles until they pop out and you can check yourself.

My money is still on twinkle (anyone heard from her?) and minkus

OP posts:
Kaz1967 · 16/06/2008 08:10

Minkus Yep sounds like a show but sadly not a sure sign labour is imminent can be 2 weeks late.

Should not have come one line no time to read the thread really got a consultants appointment this morning and picking up the blood testing monitor (and in full fighting mood too they COULD have sorted this out weeks ago as they thought it was so important) Then I have Mum and Dad coming up Not looking forward to either what a bad daughter I am

TJuice · 16/06/2008 08:17

morning ladies!!

minnie1 hope everything is okay with your dp.
sounds very frightening but hopefully just a one-off thing.

libra - don't know if it got lost earlier but thanks v much for the combats!

I am in between feeds and listening to the little squawker on the monitor. she is so noisy, i can't believe she is sleeping while she makes all that racket. nipples are now healing up and can feed without nipple shield on one, which is a big development . . .

skitty - the medela mini electric is sooooo brilliant. i also got a tommee tippee manual but that is such a pain. i am expressing and dp is giving the 4am feed which is brilliant. so far no probs re. nipples-teats and dummies but i am on high alert for potential issues.

i don't what to wear anymore - seems to be just vest tops that i can pull down and thai fishermen's pants. any tips on easy access but non-specific breast feeding clothes????

MINNIE Sorry about your DH, how does he feel in himself? Sending big hugs your way (BTW Where about in Ireland are you, just being nosey, I have family in South Ireland and spend a lovely long summer there when I was 17/18)

TJUICE Well done you for perservering through the pain, that's my biggest fear as I remember how toe curling it was, (Also dubious about BF with a toddler about, but thats a different story!)

SK I know what you mean, I really don't want this LO to come a day before 37 weeks anyway for your reasons and because I can't go to the midwife centre before then anyway, I'm just getting impatient now, only another week to go though, ideally anywhere between 38 and 39 weeks would be lovely!)

I think Twinkle has her appt at the hospital this morning, so hopefully she should have some news this afternoon, I think she's only just gone 35 weeks though....

Hope everyones well... I keep expecting to come online in the morning and see more babys born.

DH's new TV has just been delivered so hes been upstairs setting it up
