JODIEhavingababy · 14/06/2008 08:38

Morning guys! ISAIDNO, maybe now you've got your kit in the house, baby is playing ball? Maybe it's you next?

DH has taken dog and DS to Wales walking, WOW, the house is sooooo quiet. I Love it. I'm not really quiet sure what I'm going to do with myself today though as sciatica playing up, so that rules out walking round the shops... Might nip into town anyway and take my book and have a 'solo' lunch somewhere, be a shame to miss out on me time.....

Mummywannabe · 14/06/2008 09:08

Morning all

Twinkle - you poor thing. Hope you not too down about it all.

Jodie - enjoy your me time

All this talk of biscuits making me hungry!

My darling mother called me chubby yesterday. Now normally wouldn't mind but had my hair done and got dressed up for night out with work girls and was feeling ok till i saw her! However after the 5th person saying 'ohhhh you have got huge!' at dinner chubby seemed mild!

Right more essay writing to do, not to mention huge mountain of ironing - better do it now or it will kill someone if it falls on them. Was hoping mother or mother in law might have spotted it and offered but no (although even if they had i most likely would have said no)

pigleychez · 14/06/2008 09:11

Morning all.

Is it just me.... when i first wake up i feel soooo rough, like ive been beaten up or something! Im fine after about 10 mins of being awake is just that initial waking... very odd!

Not much planned for today which is good, a leisurely day ahead.

Hope everyone else has a good weekend

Libra1975 · 14/06/2008 09:12

MW - step away from the ironing and go do something fun, no-one ever died from having crumpled clothes just fold them up and put them away. (I don't think it was you who professed to liking ironing earlier in the thread!)

Minkus · 14/06/2008 10:51

Empire biscuits sound yum!

Fingers crossed twinkle that the consultant appointment is good news when it comes round.

Have been trying to get a robomop for ages (for hard floors not carpets) as it would save me soooo much time. Keep missing them on ebay!

No baby here, all the twinges I was having yesterday have stopped and now I just feel rough as the proverbial badgers arse.

Minipink how are you getting on?

JODIEhavingababy · 14/06/2008 11:00

Wow I'm amazed at how much you can get done when there isn't a toddler around! It's only 11.00 and I've showered, dressed and straightened my hair! painted toenails (didn't know I could still reach!) Painted fingernails, hoovered, mopped, scrubbed kitchen floor, had tea and toast and watched tele for a bit and made some cakes which are now cooking nicely and smell delicious.......

mcchesers · 14/06/2008 13:00

morning..DH is making saturday morning breakfast. Eggs Florentine.

We've both been up all night, finally he adjusted the bed to prop it up on books and I managed to sleep a few hours. Still coughing and congested but it's on it's way out.

My "gone missing" raspberry leaf tea finally showed. YAY! I hope it's not too late. I had terrible niggles and bad BH all day yesterday..think it's just the baby moving down. He's still wiggling around like mad.

SK- I went to physio yesterday at the southern, and the lady was really nice but freaked me out by saying "by the way you are sitting, looks like you haven't got long to go". She made some pelvic adjustments and said it was just the weight of my bump causing issue and gave me a support belt. It works great!

She also told me to get myself organised so that I can rest and stop pottering.

EEC · 14/06/2008 13:20

Just started on the iron tablets here as I am amaemic, as I thought. Hope it makes a difference, as this lack of energy is really wearing. How long should it take to build up my levels? Officially got 4 weeks to go and would like to have pushed the levels up a bit before birth - feeling like tis I wouldn't have the energy to push! Not sleeping much at all either...

Jafffa cakes is the current thing here - but feeling a strong urge for white wine. Count down the days....

Heffagooday · 14/06/2008 13:38

Thread moving very quickly I've been busy making curtains all week, so haven't had much time for MN. Luckily I've finished now!

I went to MW yesterday and apparently the baby is starting to engage, so that's good! Have been getting quite bad period-type pains today.

EEC - I started on iron tablets last week and feel better already. I've actually been sleeping better as well (no more restless leg) so that's helped a lot.

Did someone say Minipink was in labour or am I going mad?

EEC · 14/06/2008 14:20

Minipink had a minilabour! Started contractions etc and got to three cm dilated, but it stopped and she was sent home - Similar thing with Minkus too.(I think) - please correct me if I'm wrong.

Need to make curtains too. I will try next week when energy better!

TMI probably - but do iron tablets sometimes cause the runs rather than constipation? Or is it just all the extra prunes I'm eating?

isaidno · 14/06/2008 16:10

I am sooooo bored and grumpy.
Please please please let me have this baby soon.

jocesar · 14/06/2008 16:45

Had my first really weepy day today. Just fed up of being heavy, clumsy and unable to lead my normal active life. I know I shouldn't moan as I haven't got SPD or worse! Slept really badly and kept swearing loudly every time I had to turn over in bed. Been really grumpy with DH who doesn't really know what to do/say for the best.
Still 3 to 5 weeks to go. Just had my 3rd hypnobirthing session which has helped- quite enjoying that- we'll wait and see how it goes.
Sorry about the moan- I know I should not be so selfish and concentrate on the amazing feat of growing a baby etc but am just fed up today (and there is no chocolate nor cakes in the house!) Hope everyone else is feeling fantastic!

Minkus · 14/06/2008 16:56

Yes Minipink and I were both in early labour on Tues/Weds! For some reason it just all stopped.

McChesers- advice to rest sounds good!

EEC thought that iron tablets did bunging-up and prunes did the opposite- so maybe you've had more prines than iron tabs!

Isaidno I can feel your pain I am most fed up too! Am steeling myself to go to 42 weeks after getting all excited about things starting early. Boo hoo.

Going to a 40th bday party tonight. I am really looking forward to getting a bit dressed up! Dh is gutted though as he can't drink- lots of our friends will be there and if I hadn't have been in hosp earlier in the week he would be having a final night of booze before going teetotal before baby arrives. But he agrees that it's just too risky and knowing our luck if he gets tanked up my waters would break as soon as he'd downed his fifth pint

Am just relaxing here at home at the mo, ds and dh polishing some car wheels in the back garden and I've just had a nap so feel all refreshed for this evening (probably only make it to 9 though without yawning my head off)

Minkus · 14/06/2008 17:04

Oooops EEC those were supposed to be prunes not prines

Have a big cuddle jocesar, it's not surprising you're feeling a bit fed up we've got some serious stuff to put up with even if it is "the most natural thing in the world"! And certainly to be expected if there are no goodies in the house. Have you got any cocoa in? A proper hot chocolate with milk and sugar sometimes works wonders here . Hope you perk up soon.

mcchesers · 14/06/2008 17:07

jocesar - I feel exactly the same today. I should at least have some chocolate around the house, but no nothing..just fruit which is not as appealing. No wonder my bump is so heavy!

bored to bits. We're doing hospital bag laundry and getting a drawer together for baby's things. Not sure what to do with my things though..which of course set off the weepiness.

minipinkscottish · 14/06/2008 17:45

Hi guys - sorry I've been absent for a while but with good reason....

Waters broke at 3.45am Friday morning at home - Niagra falls didn't have a look in. No contractions but made way to FP - leaving pools of water on the way - had to go to triage on ward 2 and still had no contractions till 8.45am. Asked to be taken down to labour suite at 9.15am and our baby girl arrived at 9.35am

I was so relieved to be at FP and to all the staff. The baby's heart rate went right down at end and she was whisked way by baby docs - thankfully though she recoved very quickly and we are now home and she is beautiful and feeding well.

So at 35 weeks she was born and weighed 6lb 5oz No stitches and no pain relief

So can I still come on the 22nd and bring baby too??? Oh we are still debating her name so will let you all know as soon as we do
Hope everyone else is well - I will catch up later

minipinkscottish · 14/06/2008 17:46

Sorry ignore last part of that post as I cut and pasted from another thread where some mn's have arranged a day out

pigleychez · 14/06/2008 17:54

Wow Minipink!!
Many congratulations to you all.

What a quick birth... i want one like that!

Must be nice that shes home with you already and didnt have to stay in. 6.5lbs is nice weight too.

Let us know when you come up with a name.
Post some photos when you can.

Again really pleased for you!!!!

EEC · 14/06/2008 18:28

fantastic news minipink! How jealous are we all? Very! can't wait to hear the name.

Kaz1967 · 14/06/2008 18:29

minipink congratulations

sweetkitty · 14/06/2008 19:04

Congratulations minipink wow what a quick labour too you must be made up and what a great weight for 35 weeks she was just ready to come out wasn't she?

Aww and I thought it would be twinkle next as well, 3 babies born now

poledra - my DP says the same thing about the shed, poor man being surrounded by girls he doesn't stand a chance.

gilly - hope you got some rest today and everyone else who was up early, I woke at 6.30am and couldn't get back to sleep, is it just me or does your brain click on and start whizzing at that time in the morning?

Mummywannabee - about your Mum's comments, you are 8 months + pregnant, ignore her.

I have had an empire biscuit and a strawberry tart today

jocesar - aww moan ahead even if you don't hae SPD this part of pregnancy is hard. lugging about the extra weight and just feeling knackered all the time.

minkus - enjoy your teetotal birthday party

mcchesers - glad you are on the mend and the support belt is working for you does nothing for me though.

Was lying on the sofa last night and turned over and screamed felt like my right hip had fallen out it's socket, have been in bloody agony all day, driving was horrendous was wincing every time I had to break, am hoping it's just a pulled muscle or something and it will get better hope it's not the SI pain getting worse.

Done nothing much all day, DO has done it all including putting up the huge trampoline, DD2 was crying when it started raining and she had to come inside I think she would sleep out there tonight.

Again congrats to minipink looking forward to hearing the name and if she looks like a wee Kennedy you call her that!

OP posts:
JODIEhavingababy · 14/06/2008 19:43

Wow MINIPINK, congratulations! Was is DISNEY who said she'd be next, how the hell did you know? (And that was before the 'false start' in the week) Disney, can you please tell me when I'll pop?

Gosh Mini I'm in shock, and to think that you've been allowed home already, then she must be really healthy and wanted to meet all her brothers and sisters!!!!!

My SPD has reared it's ugly head today, so I've been walking around like a cripple, along side the sciatica, it's awful, so I feel for all of you that have been suffering throughout and are now on crutches/wheelchairs! Luckily DH and DS were out all day, so went to sleep for 2 hours this afternoon must have needed it!

isaidno · 14/06/2008 19:45

Lovely news minipink; that's cheered me up a bit! We need a photo though!

RUMPEL · 14/06/2008 19:45

Yeah MINIPINK - many congrats! Still you are a practised labourer so am glad it went so quick and well for you all. Great weight. I would be quite happy to go next

Inflated birthing pool today - it is great. Hopefully I won't need to use it but I feel better just to have it on standby - just need to hope verything goes well during labour so I can actually achieve a waterbirth!

I bought some Becks alcohol free today - after you all talking about it - didn't even know it existed. Had one after dinner and it was nice. Bought some 0 alcohol cobra and pear cider too. I had 2 glasses of vine rouge last night and it really made me relaxed and sleep better than I have in ages so felt much better today.

I am always a bit stiff in the morning now and get really heavy and sore at night - bump seems to slip down at night. I have dropped again and am now sloping

MINKUS - might be you now that MINPINK has gone?

TWINKLE - thank goodness they checked you out for Strep B. You'll probably be delivering in the next 2 weeks for sure the way things are going. HUGS to you.

HUBARB - clootie dumpling? You need to make some Empire biccies for your Mrs - how is she doing? How long to go for you guys now?

I am 35 today.

SWEETKITTY - I thought you were 4 years younger than me? Everyone tells us DD is tall but we have no-one to compare her with - what age are your DDs? I love the apple green P+T it is lovely and bright. My Quinny is red and my Zia is blue. I am keeping the quinny for a bit as I can let LO lie in it in the garden in the dreamicot whilst he/she is still small.

McCHEESERS - hope you are feeling better soon - hugs.

EEC I felt much better by 2 days aftre I had started taking the iron tabs. They usually make you constipated but I always get diarrhoea at this stage of pg anyway so no effect on me - maybe you do to? Same as when due AF - always get a runny tum before.

DISNEY - sorry about all the 'sweet' talk - you'll need to get some diabetic choccies form Thorntons

JODIE - what colour did you paint them? I painted mine for last time but I only have half a big toe nail on one foot so am not bothering this time. I adore matt blue nails - suits my uber pale skin tone.

MUMMY - good luck with the essay writing.

Must go as DD is having a nanny rooney!

Ouch my bump hurts!!!

I think MONKEY must have had bad news as she has not been back on

Have a nice wknd everyone.
