My eldest girl (6 in a few weeks), is at her first sleepover tonight (just 3 of them at friends house). I am going to sleep next to the phone just in case. apparently they went to bed at 630, they were so excited!!

So I have just had 1 child to look after today, my 3 yr old. how easy with just one, no bickering or fighting. had a lovely afternoon, and she went to bed fine, no arguing. thought she might miss her older sister as they share a room, but she was fine!

tell me, why am I less than four weeks away from having a third child???

mummypig · 13/06/2008 21:58

Oh twinkle so sorry to hear your news. Glad they detected the strep though, now it means they can treat it - can be very dangerous for the baby and you.

mummypig · 13/06/2008 21:59

cass I completely agree with you, it always seems so much easier with just one of them, doesn't it?

JODIEhavingababy · 13/06/2008 22:01

OMG Mummypig, that thing is amazing... Does it really work?

JODIEhavingababy · 13/06/2008 22:02

Twinkle, sorry to hear that, but as has been said, at least they've deteced it and can keep an eye on you!

cass66 · 13/06/2008 22:03

twinkle, thoughts with you.

are those babes better out than in soon, do you think??? are you having a section, so GBS and thrush shouldn't be a problem??

pigleychez · 13/06/2008 22:06

Blimey twinkle.... Like mummypig says at least now they can treat it.

I have a really funny achy pressure type pain tonight around the top of my right hip.. Pretty uncomfortable.

CilC · 13/06/2008 22:11

Sorry to hear that twinkle... we all seem to be eating biscuits tonight...aybe that will help?
No new babies....yet!

Take good care of yourself and try and rest...if you can!

CilC · 13/06/2008 22:14

Does the roomba work? Please let me know!

I think this is one gadget I would lurvvv! Good for us SPD sufferers too. We have something similar for pools in Australia which has been around forever (called a creepy crawlie) wonder why it took so long to get a house one????

mummypig · 13/06/2008 22:27

Yes Jodie, and CilC the Roomba does work . I was very skeptical when it first arrived. (I even questioned the delivery driver about who had ordered it, as dp hadn't warned me it was coming.) You do have to keep the floor fairly clear of small bits of junk (i.e. toy cars and the like) but it moves around large objects (like dp's shoes) and cleans under our futon-type sofa better than a person with a normal vacuum cleaner and handle. It doesn't suck up large bits of paper, so I've been able to rescue a couple of ds1's pictures that were on the floor because they just kind of got swept along! I haven't emptied it yet - dp has done, though - so I don't know how often it needs emptying. It clearly has far less space for the dust than a vacuum cleaner does. But it's one gadget I'm very happy to be adopting. You can even 'schedule' in regular cleans so you don't have to be in the house while it's zooming around doing the work for you!

disneystar · 13/06/2008 22:37

mmmm how i would love a choc eclair well i can dream cant i

Poledra · 13/06/2008 22:41

Hi SK, fortunately they're only estimating the baby at 6lb at the moment - 8lb was isaidno's guess at where she might be in 4 weeks. Though dd1 was 8lb 4, and dd2 was 8lb 15 so I'm kind of expecting this one to tip the scales at about 9lb anyway.

sweetkitty · 13/06/2008 22:41

I love the idea of robot vacuum but don't think it would have the suction to pick up 3 cats worth of hair daily in this house, does it do sofas and curtains as well?

OP posts:
ButterflyMcQueen · 13/06/2008 22:44

poledra do you know what you are having?

disney aww you poor thing!

I ate a WHOLE pinapple at 5pm and now need chocolate

dp has to go on a call so i think i may send him on a flake run!

Poledra · 13/06/2008 22:52

Hi Butterfly, I'm having dd3!! DH already looking at plans for a new dad hideout shed for when they reach puberty

ButterflyMcQueen · 13/06/2008 23:10

lovely

she may not be bigger than dd2 mine have all been very similar weights

CilC · 13/06/2008 23:21

My DD was 8lb 6ounces and two weeks early. This LO predicted weight is over 10lbs! So glad I am having a c section.

Ok I must go to bed...

Have a great weekend everyone!

AggiePanther · 14/06/2008 00:39

Blimey I see what you mean about this thread moving quickly! I'll never keep up!!
Lots of lovely baby names on here - we're probably going with Stanley - but haven't worked out a middle name yet ...i don't think boys names are easier at all

CilC · 14/06/2008 05:31

Have been up for two hours...just can not sleep! Stayed up last night so I might sleep better... Not worried about anything, just find I can not sleep for more than about 3-4 hours...anyone else feeling like that? It must be my body preparing me!
Had a look on the baby name thread - wow sooooo cruel!
Agree Aggie - lots of great names on this thread!

gillythekid · 14/06/2008 06:10

Hey CilC I've been up since 5. Hip pain REALLY bad and there's no way to get comfy, feel like I'll be less tired when baba comes as at least I'll get a few hours at a time! Hope you get a chance to nap a little later. I'm almost hallucinating with tiredness this week!

gillythekid · 14/06/2008 06:13

Twinkle hope you can get treatment soon and are ok.

CilC · 14/06/2008 06:37

Hey Gilly!
It is so frustrating to be tired and not be able to slepp...I sort of feel like I have jet lag!

isaidno · 14/06/2008 07:05

I've been awake since about 5am too. Been feeling a bit odd. Had some diarrhoea yesterday, a headache and felt sick. Didn't have any tea but think it might be the iron tablets messing my insides up. Perhaps it's the thought of those scissors...

Keep us posted Twinkle - I put my money on you to go next!
