Dizzy Posted at same time, did you see what I just said

PetitFilou1 · 02/06/2008 11:19

Ps Hope dd gets better later

dizzydixies · 02/06/2008 11:21

ooooh I saw that I think I have given a very false impression of being far more windswept and interesting that I really am

they should hop onto here and read what you lot have to wade through - all my drivelling nonsense

thank you for kind thoughts for DD1 - have been and bought the all haloed Nelseon Tea Tree Antiseptic Cream so will slather her up in that later on

books mainly read at work as I ignore bleating members of the public btw

VintageGardenia · 02/06/2008 11:25

Do you mean this belly belt ? Or a supporting thing?

Here's something I won't be getting.

dizzy poor wee girl, doc says viral but what is it? I'm not very good on illnesses, a viral rash? Poor darling.

VintageGardenia · 02/06/2008 11:27

I would love to meet you all in RL! I would love to do an Aug 08 meet up when the babbas are all born but it will never happen because I am in Ireland and you are all in sodding UK, Argentina, USA, Singapore...

dizzydixies · 02/06/2008 11:30

VG I'll be over and only a few stops to the Bray dart

shall I meet you at Avoca though - for baby friendliness purposes of course

its more like raised spots on her face and rash down torse - would desc it like chicken pox spots minus the erruption

miamla · 02/06/2008 11:30

VG I'm relieved that I remebered the quote accurately enough (and that it was for the right book) for you to not think me crazy!
Thirteenth tale is by diane setterfield and I'm not going to tell you anymore than that! There are so many twists to the story that I'm worried I'll tell you something that you don't find out until the end!
VG, now look what you've done..I'm sitting in front of my books and suspect I'll be here for a little while now!! More recommendations... Wild swans by jung chang, anna karina by leo tolstoy, the tin drum by gunter grass, shadow of the wind by carlos ruiz zafon. An absolute must is perfume by patrick suskind (really annoyed they made a film of it,still haven't seen it though..book is too amazing to ruin by me watching someone else's interpretation) I reckon those'll keep you going for a while! Got any for me? Hmm, perhaps I should warn you.. Those books are all completely different, so if you love/hate the first one, it doesn't mean you'll love/hate all of them!
I'm sitting here giggling about your new invention, the perineastretch2000 sounds like a great idea! Make sure you produce it in pretty colours!

I've had a few marks threatening to turn into stretch marks but a combination of bio-oil and not looking for them seems to be workoing a treat. I especially like the idea of dp helping me to avoid stretch marks on my shoulders! I'll be actioning that one tonight!

Can you lot please stop talking about all the nookie you're getting! I haven't been allowed since the 8 week scare we had (let alone all the other little occurences we've had!) Enough is enough! If I can't have any then you shouldn't be allowed either! Esp you Dizz, given that we were banned from mentioning it when you were abstaining!
Seriously though, I'm actually really pleased that someone's getting some action, even though its not me

Buckets · 02/06/2008 11:31

Poor DD's DD1. My DS puked in the night, seems fine now but I've not been able to keep anything down this morning myself. So hungry! Was it only 3months ago this was a regular occurrence?

RFB, I seem to get one stretchmark (or stretchmark extension) per child. Just the old genetic lottery I guess. Doesn't appear until after birth funnily enough.

Shazza, PMSL at your new thread confusion.

Buckets · 02/06/2008 11:36

Ooh I loved Shadow of the Wind too! Such a funny quirky style for such a gothic novel, couldn't tell if it was the author or the translator but it was really different and charming. I also loved Time Travellers Wife that year but that's a real chalk/cheese divider, you either love it or hate it.

dizzydixies · 02/06/2008 11:36

sorry! no more nookie chat - although in my defence I think *buckets8 is worse than me

have no more extra stretch marks but thats because dc3 is filling in the gap and huge belly left by dd1 and dd2 I got LOADS when pregnant with dd1 and none since so I take that as a sign my stomach cannot physically get any bigger

god I bet I'll wish I never said that now [meep]

buskets nothing worse than having to deal with mid sleep sick - at least mine slept through - hope he is ok today

dizzydixies · 02/06/2008 11:37

loved Time Travellers Wife!

am about to start reading one by Margaret Atwood, can't remember the title though

miamla · 02/06/2008 11:47

Cool, time traveller's wife is on the list!

Seems to be a bug going round here, dp was sick all sat night and I felt really close to being sick last night.I hate it when you know being sick is going to help expel the badness, your body knows it too so starts wrteching but then that's it

Gas man just left after an hour and a half! Most of which was talking to me about my approaching parenthood! He was a lovely guy but didn't half talk. Yeah yeah I know, I'm a bit of a chatterbox myself!

TwilightSurfer · 02/06/2008 12:29

Morning.

DD has a playdate at 9:30am so up and bustling around the house to get ready. Late as usual.

DD sorry your little one has the viral rash. Remember mine was covered head to toe back in April. You did well by getting her the video. Fingers crossed hers doesn't last too long....my LOs lasted 5 days (but was told it could possibly last as long as three weeks)...we still have no idea WHAT actually caused it.

As for all the book talk.....I you all. It's not that I don't have "time" I just don't have the focus to stay with a book longer than Green Eggs and Ham.

Shazza2002 · 02/06/2008 12:36

I'm glad you're on here dizzy, I saw you on the other thread talking about Fern Britton and I was about to accuse you of sniding off. I've suddenly become very possesive and controlling, what is wrong with me????

dizzydixies · 02/06/2008 12:39

this is ALWAYS my first port of call shazza

I just happen to heart Fern and think she should be left well alone frankly

dizzydixies · 02/06/2008 12:48

ladies, forgot to mention I snuck onto the scales at the Drs this morning (we were put in a room to wait on appt as they were worried dd was infectious) and I've only put on 4 kilos since booking in at 15wks - now I KNOW thats still nearly 10lbs (I think feel free to correct me) and I am HUGE but remember please that dd2 weighed >5kilos when born so am actually pretty chuffed!!

right off to collect dd2 and then lunch and then to work with me, last shift then off till Sat

Shazza2002 · 02/06/2008 13:24

I was weighed at 26 weeks and had put on 5.5 kilos since 12 weeks. So 5.5 kilos in 14 weeks which I think is a lot. I'm not getting back on the scales until June 2009!

warthog · 02/06/2008 14:06

ah tis a bad thing to get on scales.

i wanted to see how much dd weighed at a friend's the other day so i weighed myself - 80 friggin kilos!!! i'm normally 58! how did this happen??? i have since convinced myself that her scales were wildly inaccurate.

last night was night 6 of insomnia. finally got to sleep at 3, which was good for me. am such a total zombie and finding it difficult to cope.

i'm panicking about what to cook for supper tonight! ffs i need to get a grip...

Buckets · 02/06/2008 14:09

Dizzy Is the Margaret Attwood Oryx & Crake by any chance? Read that last year, very classy, stays in your brain.

TS Last year I challenged myself to read 12 books from Jan to Dec, recording the list on my Bookcrossing profile page. I ended up reading 30! Not doing any housework whatsoever might be the key to it, you would not be jealous if you saw my home! This year has been much slacker at both reading and housework, funnily enough, not sure I've reached 6 books yet.

cyteen · 02/06/2008 14:10

I think I might actually have lost weight Am definitely looking and feeling less wobbly and round, apart from in the obvious place of course. Plus all the extra walking into work is giving me buns of steel.

You'll be pleased to hear I'm taking immediate action by eating an enormous chocolate brownie. Am in need of cheering up/calming down after our ex-letting agents attempting to shaft us for our deposit - again!

warthog · 02/06/2008 14:11

i'm glad you're eating a brownie. i think i might eat some choc covered nuts...

alittlebitshy · 02/06/2008 15:11

so much to catch up on. where to start????

Weight gain. . not dared to look lately. when I weighed myself a few weeks aao i was the same that i was at 42 weeks with a 9lb9 dd still in situ. In my defence, i have started a stone, at least, heavier this time, but still...

books - ooh i love books. We have lots of books here. I never quite get those houses that don't even have one bookcase.... My attention span is a bit crap so I've been on the chick lit lately.

erm - sleep. ugh. Slepe not too bad but when I wake up to turn over everything hurts. Dd's sleep on the other hand is appalling. at age 5 i'd have hoped we wouldn't have issues. But it seems she's saved them up til now. Just hoping we sort them (i've just constructed a reward chart) before baby comes!!!

Those of you with swollen ankes/feet. It IS normal isn't it? My mum is panicking me and telling me i should see gp/call midwife (which would mean calling hospital cos I don't have a specific midwife). She is naturally paranoid cos she had pre-eclampsia with me. I stopped growing at 28 weeks and was born at 34 weeks at 2lb, so I can see why she worries, but from what I've read, i should only worry if my hands and face swell too shoudln't i??? Struggling though cos walking isn't v comfy even with birkies on....

Will carry on with catch up later - need to take washing out of machine before I struggle off to the tube to go to work...

cyteen · 02/06/2008 15:16

lol albs - my dad still recounts with horror the time he babysat my cousins and went to get something to read from my aunt and uncle's shelves, only to discover that they had fake books . Which is pretty appalling, to be fair.

cyteen · 02/06/2008 15:34

I'm having some really funny pains today. Low down, right in the centre of my belly, and at the front of my bump (inside), if that makes any sense. They feel like trapped wind pains, when you get those horrible big bubbles of air moving through the gut, but surely completely in the wrong place to be that? Under my bump is quite sore and the baby is moving in leisurely fashion i.e. the occasional hard kick or brief period of swishing. Any ideas what's going on? Is he having a growth spurt maybe? Are these more intense Braxton Hicks? Or have I indeed just got trapped wind?

PetitFilou1 · 02/06/2008 16:19

VG Nope I meant this one www.bumpto3.com/product.aspx?DISPLAYCAT=bump&CAT=Products&CATGRY=pregnancy_birth&PID=KB106XL lol at your memento of bump link though

Cyteen No those aren't braxton hicks as they are painless - maybe ask your midwife?

Weight - I am the same weight at 27 weeks with ds2 that I was at full term with ds1 (not getting on the scales again now) although most of the weight seems to be on my arse. I am not sure which is bigger - that or my bump sorry for the language but it is not a pretty pert bottom atm!

Albs - swollen ankles pretty normal. Watch out for other symptoms though www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk/articles/article.aspx?articleId=431&sectionId=10 - am sure you know these already.
