Aww, fingers crossed that you get your long lie before you get them back. It must be weird to be in the house by yourself when you normally have all those other people there. I had a freak out moment the other week when I realised the opposite! DH was out playing football and PIL had the dog so I was in the house by myself and I suddenly thought, 'Argh, I might not get the chance to be all alone for ages after August!' About 29+3 too late for that kind of thinking really!

lol, I used to love living on my own, its taken me a while to get used to having such a busy house so I relish the rare occassions when am on my own, still feels more like a home when they're all here

Captain, I've lived off of peppermint candy and peppermint tea since getting my throat/chesty thing.....10 weeks ago now. Maybe that will help you some. You must have picked it up on the plane ride. I really don't know anyone in the states that hasn't had what you're describing. Docs have blamed it on "allergies" but I really think it's something else. And for a while I too, puked due to the cough. As if being pregnant wasn't enough misery.......

Well I survived my family gathering. SIL stayed on my porch most of the time chain-smoking. She has COPD but "can't" stop smoking. How dumb is that? Anyway DH walked the kids down to the lake and they had a blast fishing...the little girls all had toy fishing poles which they dipped in the water pretending to catch THE BIG ONE. All four kids never left my DHs side the whole afternoon. The evening ended with another wonderful surprise....SIL & the kids plan to stay the whole week. Yeah about the kids but about the SIL. DB gets to drive home and spend the week alone. THANK GOODNESS they're sleeping over at my dad's. Anyway all went well in the end.

Hi guys, great bumps and babies pics! I wish everyone would stop apologising when then post long posts, I LOVE reading about everyone else!

I don't know what possessed me but we got a new tent. Yes, and we camped in the garden last night. Yes, and my back is absolutely killing me and I cannot get into the right stretch that will sort of ease it out, if you know what I mean. So TS I'm with you on the feeling lousy today. We had people over all day yesterday & will be more here today, Just want to lie in bath / on bed with someone muscular and medically qualified working on my lower back muscles .

But I think I should be grateful, given the easy ride I've had so far, physically, when others have suffered.

anyone else struggling with sleeping? last night was the 5th night of insomnia, and despite being exhausted i Did Not Get To Sleep AT ALL! i'm useless today.

Right there with you warthog on the insomnia/crap sleep. The cough I've got starts off the minute my eyes open then keeps me coughing for at least 10 minutes. Given that I must wake up every 60 to 90 minutes to change position, that doesn't make for a lot of sleep. Ds got into our bed at 4.30 so as soon as he fell asleep I went and got in his bed for 2 hours and slept fairly well. Then lovely dh got up early with ds so at least I had a lie-in (or a lion as ds calls it) until 9am.

Add to that bloody infuriatingly irritable legs syndrome. My legs seem to take it in turns to be 'irritable'. First one feels like it's on fire, then the other one takes off. I'm off out to find some magic cure for it (or at least something that might soothe it!). Wonder if Clarins magic tingly super fantastic leg cream stuff will help?

Hello VG and albs - do you have any suggestions for adding to the ideal labour bag? I like the lacy g-string and running clothes ideas too.

Cavey - just realised you should probably pack a home waxing kit - just so you are all tidy when you put on the lacy g-string.

Well there are a few things you left out all right.

Tampons for any light bleeding. Regular / mini should be fine.

Some fresh all-white cotton / linen mix pyjamas, so that you can be pretty when receiving MIL, unexpected work colleague, etc, the day after delivery.

Webcam for live link-up to work. This can be used first in the delivery suite, later moved beside your hospital bed to show early attempts at breastfeeding, etc.

Exercise bike (you can get very good foldaway portable ones with razor sharp saddles to keep you on your toes) for straddling in the first few days - there shouldn't be any excuse for not starting to get your figure back asap.

Few books of tasteful erotica to make sure you're in the mood when DP/DH decides to try out your hospital bed.

First few modules of an Open University course of your choice - gotta keep the brain from going soggy. Being off work and a new mum CAN have a detrimental effect but really we should ward that off.

Something I'm going to arrange are some tickets for a nice opera or ballet or something for when we're released from hospital. I'm sure baby will stay quiet and it'll be exactly what I'll fancy doing with a newborn

LOL VG, I'm Ebaying my tent this week! Decided by the time we go again I'll want something fancier and it's too big for our garden at this house so not even any use as a gazebo/playhouse.

I suddenly remembered dreaming that my boobs were leaking everywhere last night, like I felt soaked. Hoho crazy pg dreams thought I, but went to check my nightie anyway. Oh look, seems it wasn't entirely a dream after all. Time to buy another shelfy-vest top (Matalan is cheapest FYI) and start using the pads.

Twas v good and really nice to see the other couples again, although as they're all due in July some of the mums have started maternity leave now, which makes me extremely . I've been busy cutting back the ivy on the shed.I'm really hoping that removing it isn't fuelled by pregnancy brain! It does look beautiful but its starting to damage the brickwork and its raising the shed roof. Can someone tell me I'm doing the right thing please!

Very impressed at your calmness re. the cat miamla - I don't dare let ours out before 2 weeks to a month whenever we move. In my defence, (a) they are very stupid and timid, and (b) we've moved a lot so I always worry they'll be easily unsettled and run off in the early weeks.

Think it makes sense this time as there are loads of other cats around here. A couple of times at around 11pm there has been some serious cat-fighting noises in the road out front as well, which makes me think this area has some kind of big daddy cat that will make paste of my two

Hmm but I did fail to mention that I spent about an hour last night calling him. Dp eventually found him cowering in a tree. It would seem the local ginger tom cornered my cat up there! He was such a bully at the old place, he's getting a taste of his own medicine. I suspect that's why he hasn't left my side today..he's such a baby!
Cyteen, trust me, if it was left to me, mine would have been kept inside for a lot longer but dp allergic and cat seemed settled here really quickly so I figured we'd give it a go. Dp was so worried last night when we couldn't find him. Not because he cares about the cat, more that he didn't want his pregnant girlie sitting crying in the garden refusing to come in until he was found! I was actually really calm, I knew he'd come back evebtually.

What has been going on while I've been away... bald dogs, Brad's sausage.... I am missing out! For some reason I never seem to have time to get on here - is it something to do with living in the countryside I wonder (or possibly more because I have to do packed bloody lunches and dinners the night before a nursery day...aaargh hate it)

pair of high heels (don't want to look frumpy in the hospital bed obviously)
your mother in law because it would be so upsetting not to have her at the birth
a reality tv film crew as you'll obviously want to play back everything at a later date

Btw am now wearing my elastic under the bump belt thing that I got from my physio friend last time..wondered when I would start to need that. Standing for any length of time now HURTS. Only three months to go.... ho hum! My pubic bone feels like it is coming in two (oh well it probably is seeing this is three in five years... )

Oh I leaked from about 20wks with my other two pregs, it was quite upsetting at first. I remember being too embarassed to buy disposable pads in Boots and making DH do it instead! This time around I'd only noticed the odd mark on my nightie so far - I'd assumed it would get more 'fluent' with each baby but I guess not. I'll just be wearing vest (and washable pads) and pants to bed from now on, hurray for summer babies.
