TS - your guilt worked Fab on my Hubby - he has done the washing up, hoovered, done 2 loads of washing hung them out brought the dry load in folded it and put away what doesn't ironing - packed the rest for mil to iron. Thanks so much.

Nothing much here news except during a bit of pre-bath nookie my left breast decided to shoot DH - he got such a fright. It has taken since Monday's nct class to get any ( it made him realise there is really a baby in there like i have been telling him for months)now i think it may be my last until i stop BF .

VG - book was returned today by the postie - i wrote my addy on the fron and yours on the return side [double blush] - will post it correctly tomorrow - my brain has finally been completely eaten by the baby.

poppysocks · 05/06/2008 21:43

PG brain v. much in control here. After making all that bolognaise last night I started to divide it up for the different freezer batches (various kinds for DD and then us). Anyway, got very mildly distracted and ended up dumping a ton of extra veg into the whole lot, rather than just a bit for DD's lunches. Thankfully DH just laughed at the fact that our lasagne will contain sweetcorn, peas, peppers etc. for the forseeable. Suspect we won't even notice when we start using the batches once DD2 is here.

Had a mildly traumatic check up today. All fine with the baby, so that's the main thing, but could they find a vein for the blood test???? After 3 attempts and me feeling rather woozy, the anaesthetist managed to get in, after lots of uncomfortable wiggling, through the back of my hand.

Now starting to get rather worried about the c-section. Last time all those needles seemed to get in without me noticing too much as I was in so much pain. Hopefully I'll be rather more conscious this time, but that means anticipating them all coming my way. Eek.

TwilightSurfer · 05/06/2008 21:47

Oopsa...that's great about the package...I thought I was the ONLY person on the planet to do that. (Actually I shipped packages from me..to me more than once.)

dizzydixies · 05/06/2008 21:47

readyforbed the model is called Julie, she lived in the village next to me when we were growing up - I wasn't that fond of her even then

TwilightSurfer · 05/06/2008 21:50

Poppy were your veins rolling or collapsing on them?? The best scenario would be that you just need to drink more water prior to being poked.

OP posts:
readyforbed · 05/06/2008 21:52

Dizzy, such glam people you know - so do you think she is really pg? COW!!!! (whether she is pg or not...)

dizzydixies · 05/06/2008 21:54

ready she was mates with my boyfriend at the time and as a rather paranoid frumpy wee teenager I wasn't best pleased!!

she works for the Daily Record and local Scottish pap TV now - have no idea if really pg or not but shall endeavour to find out lol

Buckets · 05/06/2008 22:11

Poppysocks, that's a good idea, saves a lot of washing up in the future.

Oops, PMSL on both counts. I've not had squirts yet, just seepage when I lie on one.

poppysocks · 05/06/2008 22:12

TS - Not sure what was going on. I asked mw what it was as at the last two blood tests there were problems getting it. It was really cold both times before so I thought that might be why. Certainly wasn't today and MW just waffled something about curvy veins .

Interesting suggestion about drinking water. I drink absolutely tons of the stuff but had actually had a bit less than usual today so that I could drive all the way to the hospital without too much bladder pressure .

readyforbed · 05/06/2008 22:16

TS - looked at your pics, your bump is gorgeous! Also saw on your note about MC - I am feeling a bit sad at the mo cos I also MC (6th Nov) and would have been due in the next couple of weeks otherwise. I know I shouldn't dwell on it, sometimes it's hard...

dizzydixies · 05/06/2008 22:19

poppy were you down at forth?
dd1 and I were your way yesterday so if you saw a lardy waddling preggy bird and a spotty wee girl that was us

ready I had a MC before dd1 and fell pregnant almost exactly the same time that year, only a few weeks ahead, I still think of the baby I lost but have accepted that it had to happen for a reason as I wouldn't have dd1 if it hadn't. it is hard though and you are well within your right to feel the loss whatever way you need to

readyforbed · 05/06/2008 22:25

Dizzy, best beware on the names front - you could have your chosen one taken away from you - "look at this!"

dizzydixies · 05/06/2008 22:26

lol - thats one of the links that I had posted

ella, Lexie and Elvis - do you think they make a nice sibset?!?

readyforbed · 05/06/2008 22:30

Also D, thanks for the message, just feeling it a bit at the moment.

Right, I had moved with the laptop from a network connection to my wirelessly in bed, and the wireless is rubbish so am going to leave it here for the night.

Goodnight all.

dizzydixies · 05/06/2008 22:34

night readyforbed - literally

TwilightSurfer · 05/06/2008 23:29

Readyforbed...We MCed close to the same time then. My previous due date was June 9th....this coming MONDAY. Oddly the whole MC thing wasn't a big emotional thing for me. It happenend and I somehow fell pregnant two weeks later. TaDa here I am with only 10 weeks to go. I'm a big believer in the nature-knows-what-its-doing theory....grew up on a farm so it's just a way of life.

OP posts:
miamla · 06/06/2008 09:31

Morning all
Woken up with a nose bleed and what I suspect is conjunctivitous in my left eye. Oh joy! No chance of seeing a doc today so will have to wait til monday. Hope everyone else is more cheery than me this morning

VintageGardenia · 06/06/2008 10:02

I'm sorry about those who have suffered miscarriages, it must be a very strange combination of emotions, being this close to the end of another pregnancy. I have never had one so I can't really say much but thinking of you. xx

miamla yuck for you. I had a few long and dramatic nosebleeds at the start, round Christmas I think, but nothing since. I suppose it is just everything being more swollen and tender and sort of ... ripe? Including all the sensitive inner nose bits. Do you have to work today with conjunct? PS don't lean over table when nose bleeding .

oops you're definitely getting the pg brain prize! A pity you weren't sending me chocolates or a Lush gift box, that would have been a lovely surprise for yourself!

poppysocks the blood struggle sounds dreadful, I hate when they take blood at the best of times, but trying to torture up a vein, nasty.

Reflexologist coming to me today (in seven minutes!), yum yum, am not in the office (obviously!) but have work to do later so DON'T you all distract me by developing your usual pre-weekend nonsense natter usually involving a lot of innuendo and rofling. Well ok you can if you like.

CC did you set your alarm for six thirty this morning? Think I'll set mine for tomorrow!! Or maybe I'll just have a bath. Was absolutely lolling at the firing breast.

When will our boobs be sexy again? I mean how soon after starting bf will they be ok in that context, without danger of drenching?

dizzydixies · 06/06/2008 10:14

VG my boobs WILL be sexy again as soon as am finished with this baby malarky and I have to full 'mummy' job - tummy tuck/boob reduction and uplift and designer vagina

miamla am so sorry to hear you're poorly dh was a bit better last night but has had an apparent relapse overnight and has taken to his bed again this morning

both girls back to nursery this morning - fully armed with wellies even though its not raining! they're meant to be going to friends overnight as dh and I both working but dd1 has announced she doesn't want to go

this is the house where they get spoilt rotten and never want to come home and I had thought we might meant to get to the cinema tonight while they were away fingers crossed she'll change her mind by this afternoon

midwife this morning - what a waste of sodding time. slight protein in urine but BP perfect so she starts yabbering on about preclampsia at which point I started ignoring her. She said 'so you'll be having a c/s then?' I told her I hadn't decided yet and was reading up on it and wanted to see my previous notes before making an informed decision - presumptious cow

am measuring 34wks and considering am 33 on Mon (I think ) then thats not too bad is it?

VG am very envious of your reflexologist, as soon as I finish work (did I mention last day on Monday!!????!) will be phoning osteopath/reflexologist and hopefully local lady who does yoga and might be tempted to help me with some meditation and breathing excercises? please don't tell me you think its all too little too late?!?

right, am off - am going to primary school for first meeting re dd1 starting in Aug where did those 5yrs go?!?! am hoping not to show myself up and ruin her education before its started

sarahnh · 06/06/2008 10:39

Hey everyone,

My dd has got chicken poxs argghhhhh.... i think i am coming out in sympathy with her as i have started to get a few spots on my arms.. but i have already had them!!!

My dad is over from Ireland at the mo and has brought me loads and loads of chocolate so there's another few pounds on!!!

Now i am seriously suffering from lack of sleep as in not sleeping at all... does anyone have any suggestions??

It is so hard keeping up with this thread but i hope everyone is ok xxxx

alittlebitshy · 06/06/2008 10:46

so so much to catch up one.... eek.

Sorry about miamla feeling icky and sticky of eye

TS wow - was it that long ago that we "met" on the Avengers' thread??
Haven't those months flown?

VG your poor rug. Is it at all useable???

Dizzy hope your meeting at school goes well. I can't beleive my dd is going into yr 1 in September.

Today it's all go (though not for me lol) chez ALBS. We have the men in (lol) paining baby's room, and we have someone doing some serious hacking back gardening so that our tip of a garden is usable/presentable for the church fete next weekend!!

I feel totally rough today. Got ahces in my tummy and feel tired, sick and just icky
Plus am feeling rather low Partly general hormonal low I think, but also stressed cos of dd. Bless her she's lovely but I think I can see a lot of me in her.... The thing worrying me is that she has developed a few "tics" lately. She was blinking / squeezing shut her eyes 2 weeks ago, but that seems to have mainly gone, to be replaced by one where she takes in a deep breath then arches her body back a bit. I'm half sure it's just a passing thing, and part of dd being the eccentric little girl she is, but I was quite ticcy when I was younger (wrinking nose, opening mouch wide) at various times and i hated it. I know the thing to do is not mention it to dd but they drive me mad and I have mentioned it more than i should have. Am determined not to now, and not to get stressed by her doing it cos I'm her mummy, i'm here to protect her, keep her safe, not judge and nag her about things she can't help. So stressed by it though. And just not sure what to make of it. Don't want her to be teased. Pretty sure it's not a big medical problem, but... also a bit

cyteen · 06/06/2008 11:41

Another one feeling icky and low today We're a sickly lot at present, aren't we? albs I feel just like you, achey in the tummy and around my bump, knackered, dizzy and breathless. Am wondering if my iron is a bit low? It was borderline at my last mw appt a few weeks ago, so maybe I've dropped down a bit further with it. Might buy some steak at the weekend

For no reason at all I woke up in a panic this morning, convinced the baby is in trouble and something awful is going to happen. I just can't seem to shake it off, it's doing my head in. He's not been moving much, although has moved/kicked, just hasn't gone totally wild for a while. I wish I could just relax about it. Am probably more emotional because of feeling rubbish.

Anyway, that's enough poor-me moaning. albs try not to worry too much about your little one, I think tics are something quite common to small children. I went through loads of different ones when I was little, really random things like shoulder-shrugging, blinking, stepping on pavement cracks in certain orders and numbers etc. No one ever really noticed apart from my mum, and I don't remember them ever becoming problematic although of course they're always a source of stress.

TwilightSurfer · 06/06/2008 13:01

Yep, ALBS it's really been that long. I'm 29+6 today. WOW!! Amazing isn't it.

I'm all achey again this morning too. Baby, I'm sure, went transverse during the night. My hips feel horrible. The way she lays I can roll completely onto my left side AND if I roll to my back, her weight bothers my mid-section. When will someone create the weightless sleep chamber?? I'd love to be able to just float and snore.

Big festival week starts today in my town. Loads of food, fun and music. http://www.riverbendfestival.com/ Here's a link. Just thought I'd share some transatlantic culture.

Afternoon ladies

Very tired and icky here too. Think it's the stuffiness of the weather.

Went to Sandown races last night. Was lovely evening, absolutely knackered this morning though but was good to get out. DD behaved which is a bonus, everybody thinks she's such an adorable child, they should have seen her at 8:30 this morning in full devil child tantrum. Not sure what it is but the past few months she's become a nightmare, shouting, screaming and just generally being naughty. I just hope it's a phase that passes by August. I ended up in tears trying to deal with her so then she was more upset because she'd upset me.

Anyway, after all that had check up at GP. BP fine and urine fine.

Oh yes and and on the subject of baby positioning, babys feet were on my left last night as was kicking DP's hands. This morning baby's back is on the left. Head is down so I said to the doctor "Well that's good isn't it?" So she said "Well still a long way to go and it could still turn around" There was me thinking it's a good thing my baby is in the right position and there's her giving me reason to worry . Anyway my point is for all you with babies that are mis behaving at the moment, there is still a long time for them to turn Hope I've helped with my ramblings
