Ernest - Good luck! Hope it all goes well!

Things are pretty much sorted for the photos of the house now so having a breather. There won't be any photos of our spare room as this is where I have dumped everything from the rest of the house!

debinaustria · 04/06/2008 14:22

Hello everyone

TGF - Huge congratulations on the safe arrival of baby Storm - did she have to choose that time to play Hokey Cokey though - one foot out and one foot in?? She is beautiful and her skin looks so smooth and so kisseable!!

Just spoken to Ernest and she sounds OK if a little panicky that it's happening so early on. I hope to update you all with her news.

alipalli · 04/06/2008 14:30

Good luck Ernest, will be thinking about you.

For those of you desperate to get things moving, I thought you would like to know that Pineapples are currently £1 each in Tescos. I only bought 1 though, even though I believe you are meant to eat about 7 to have any effect. After the hot curry induced baby hiccups at the weekend I could do without the trauma, and would rather wait it out! In a week's time I may have changed my tune. Anyway I can report that my first bit of pineapple was very ripe and juicy - well done Tescos.

mellymell · 04/06/2008 14:35

alipalli - am also doing the pineapple shuffle - thank goodness they taste nice, but I think even I would balk at 7 a day. Can't do curry - gave me terrible heart burn last time I had one.

Also doing walking, although it's bloody uncomfortable.

GF - many congratulations and Ernest - best of british.

Due date on Saturday and just know that jnr is not going to make it - just like his brother, he is going to make me wait to make his acquaintence.

needahand · 04/06/2008 14:57

oooh Ernest good luck. We'll be thinking of you!

poppy34 · 04/06/2008 15:13

greenfairy - congratulations -love the unusual name and she is gorgeous.

Good luck -ernest and thanks for offering to keep us updated Deb... exciting now as babies seem to be speeding up hatch pace.

Loads of thanks for all support re birth plan.. writing REALLY detailed plan now and dh fully supportive - will get some SANDS stickers too Rolf as think can't be emphatic enough.

Amberc · 04/06/2008 15:28

Good luck Ernest - so jealous!!! I should stop moaning though as just read the end of the May thred and there are some poor lambs on there spending most days in tears still waiting for their LOs to arrive.

Re sleeping bags I think you can use them from birth as long as not prem as they have poppers on the shoulders so they can't slip - the grobag website sys from 7 lbs.

makecakesnotwar · 04/06/2008 15:41

Congrats GF, and Storm is stunning.

And thinking of Ernest!!!

needahand · 04/06/2008 15:57

Amber I saw your other thread today. With DD I had my show and then erratic contractions throughout the day. Thinks picked up in the evening and DD was born the next day at 23.00 (I had a 36h labour ). Let's hope this is the real deal for you! fingers crossed.

bitofadramaqueen · 04/06/2008 16:10

Afternoon all Amberc how you feeling post show?

Re: sleeping bags I think it may depend on the brand. The mamas and papas ones are definitely only recommended for use from 10lbs onwards.

Had another very lazy day just pottering about. Washed about half of baby clothes, now all ironed (yes, I know it'll be the first and last time I have the time or energy to do that ) and ready to be put away.

ktpie - well done on getting everything ready for house photos.

PiggyPenguin · 04/06/2008 17:09

Oh Ernest, I know its not what you wanted but I am so jealous, its very depressing when people after you on the thread get there first! Good luck and fingers crossed for the colour you wanted.

Feeling a bit icky today. DH is hopeful this will mean his paternity leave will start soon. Because yes, that is the most important thing going on here...

aberdeenhiker · 04/06/2008 17:18

whinegums - as well as big mama slings, I've bought from www.littlepossums.co.uk/ in the past. You can also just check the hotslings.com site for UK distributors...

The poor woman at big mama slings! Morning sickness can be horrible...

Amberc · 04/06/2008 18:14

Post show I have had mad BH all day but none of these period type pains people talk about. BH have calmed down a bit since I went for a nap (also feeling wildly emotional but probably not connected). Can feel the BH pushing down in the nether regions now which is an odd feeling to say the least! Had a soft central cervix 1cm dilated on Monday and am due for 2nd sweep tomorrow so perhaps that'll get things going a bit. Nothing else to report but I'm only 39 weeks with the first nipper so not expecting anything yet (but hoping!).

whinegums · 04/06/2008 18:20

Thanks Aberdeen. Yes, luckily morning sickness seems a long time ago now.

Amberc · 04/06/2008 18:21

PS just watched the hot slings wearing instructions video and it looks like the kind of thing that would make me cry because I couldn't work out what to do!

debinaustria · 04/06/2008 18:25

AmberC - sounds like things may be starting for you, good luck

Amberc · 04/06/2008 18:37

I don't feel like anything's starting - I wish it would!

debinaustria · 04/06/2008 18:39

Amber - where's the list? When are you due?

poppy34 · 04/06/2008 18:41

you're due next week aren't you amber (not weird stalker but remmeber as you're due same time as someone else in my nct group).

Amberc · 04/06/2008 18:43

I'm due on 11 June (next weds) but I have a HUGE baby in me - already over 9 lbs says scan!! Actually BH have started up again something chronic - glad I am seeing MW tomorrow as I don't know my arse from my elbow and have no idea what anything is meant to feel like TBH.

debinaustria · 04/06/2008 18:50

Hi poppy - how are you?

Amber - are the BH stopping you from doing anything - can you carry on as normal when you're having one?

poppy34 · 04/06/2008 18:54

hi debs- am good thanks. Really getting excited now thanks to those who have signs/having their babies..How are things with you?

Amberc- does sound like something happening - and when did you find out you were going to have such a bouncing baby!?

debinaustria · 04/06/2008 18:54

Amberc - if they are getting quite regular try this contraction timer

Amberc · 04/06/2008 18:57

Not stopping me from doing anything just make me wince a bit which I put down to the baby's size. Am fairly sure that it's nothing as I've been getting them like this for a couple of days - no pains to speak of!

Amberc · 04/06/2008 19:00

Poppy34 - every one of my scans was over the 97 percentile in every measurement! I'm 5'8" and other half is 6'2" so it ws unlikely that I was ever going to have a tiddler!
